The Lomalum brothers did not mind if they drank alone or if the entire company decided to join in. In either case their own celebration would not be hindered. Had no one joined Koa would've began playing that insufferable lute he bought back in Tide Springs. Koa usually played whenever he wasn't fighting or trying to woo some wench. He'd gotten better on the voyage across the sea. But much to the brothers surprise the axeman who'd had his ass handed to him was the first to accept Cal's invitation. They hadn't expected it but if he wished to join in then there was to be no harm done. Cal gauged the way the human puffed up his chest and couldn't help but find himself amused. The axeman reminded him of one of the frilled lizards in Duruma. They'd puff out their frills to look intimidating but will flee if pressed. "Aye, grab a glass and take a seat." The Lomalum gestures to the large circular table they were planning on sitting at. Koa and Cal both notice the way that the human pointedly does not look at the female human. Cal snorts and shakes his head, "And you're quite the small one, human. " The brothers took their own seats at the table, the chairs creaked but did not break. Koa rifles through his bag before removing a monstrously sized loot and plucks the strums a few times. Koa didn't look up from his lute as the human spoke. Instead he simply chuckled, a great rumbling sound that it was. "Aye, our kind is good at killing all kinds of things. But we have a particular fondness for Corpa." When the human says that he's better than them Koa glances up from the lute with a gleam in his eyes. "Careful now, thems fighting words." Cal nods at his brother's words. "We've had a lot of practice at dealing with them, human. Tell me," Calthok puts his elbows on the table and leans forward, "Ever stood your ground in front of a horde of Corpa during their feast season? We've been doing that longer than you've been alive." The brothers weren't being hostile to the man, just telling the truth.
Then a familiar female voice speaks up from beside Calthok. He'd been vaguely aware of her sitting down but he had not really noticed her till she spoke up. Calthok glanced over to her and nodded. She wasn't drinking, but that was as expected. She seemed a bit too straight laced for that sort of thing. "Aye, my brother and I are both Centurians of the Lomalum military. Until recently we'd been preparing for the defense of the northern border. But extenuating circumstances dictated we be elsewhere." She can hear the bitterness in his voice as he spoke about that. He'd wished to stand among his men when the Corpa came again but honor demanded that he be here instead. Koa spoke up after tweaking his lute, "The lad you have with you, who is he? You seem more like a bodyguard than a mother." It wasn't an insult just him mentioning the peculiar nature of her situation.
