Eh, my tutorial survivor was a sniper, even at low chance of landing a shot he never disapointed me.

I remember reading some where that the % to hit system in X-com is accurate unlike most games. If it says you have a 99% chance then you legit have a 99% chance. In other games like fire emblem if you have an 85% you actually have a 100% chance but the game lies to you to make it seem more risky.

Xcom is brutaly straight forward if you're horrible it doesn't go easy on you because of it. The game just gets harder the longer you survive. Until you get all the upgrades and manage to max out your squad.
Snipers are vicious in late game, but rangers are total juggernaughts.

My Xcom 1 squad was pretty much godlike even during the rough time, Doc was always here Mercy-like to stabilize an injured while Boomer my assault mech (don't remember the name of that class, the big robot one) provided covering mayhem.

Snipers with jet packs and squad-sight were the best. I also had an Assault nickname Lazarus cause I swear he got critically injured six times in the campaign and always survived, he then became the psi-soldier that sacrificed himself at the end, I felt genuinely sad.

That new Mario game is literally Mario X-com so that's cool.

No ! that's not fucking cool at all, it's shit you hear ?! SHIT ! And Yeah B, my sacrifice in the first game was my squad leader, the shotgun assault who took half of the ennemies on his own, Grizzly will always be in our memories.

I think picking some random sod who've you've never used to throw into the sacrificial lamb position is the best way to do that mission. "Alright Jimmy now that you know your special talent we have an important job for you!"

Alright, i relaunched Xcom 2 and tried the long warmod, the only downside isthat my classes like sniper go a shitty target designator over the really good revolver and the base game is clanky with the random class assign, meh. Also, this is mainly for dodo.

Mordin's death was hearbreaking, even more if you decided to betray him.

I know that that playthrough was intentionally designed to be terrible to show people what would happen, but the fact that it exists means that someone, somewhere, was so utterly incompetent that they actually got that ending unironically. It just makes me despair, is all.

I did all the Loyalty missions right but then Jack and Miranda had to have a bitch-fight and I didn't have enough Renegade points to shut them down so fuck it Jack died and everyone else survived.

That happened to me the first time as well, so I just restarted the Collector Base mission until Jack survived. Which was the literal next attempt for me, but it still meant that I had to restart it all.

I never proclaimed to treat it as real life; you can rewrite your mistakes, so I will. It's the only time I've ever lost anyone in a playthrough, though. Wasn't about to let that mar my ME3 playthrough.

Hmmmmmmmmmm I get that and I'm not judging (much ) but I prefer to live with the mistakes I make. It's why I play all Bioware/Telltale games blind and never reload to change a decision I just find it more fun to have the story shaped by my fuck-ups just as much as the times when I do shit right

I rarely fuck things up in the first place in Telltale/Bioware games, so when I do fuck up, I'm more likely to reject it and try for the best playthrough I can get. That's the only time I've ever majorly fucked up in Mass Effect, so I couldn't have that blemish on my record.

I expected no less from you (though sometimes in Telltale you're fucked no matter what you do) but I dunno (this is gonna sound kinda hipster) it feels kinda artificial. One of my favourite moments was when I accidentally romanced Garrus didn't even know it was possible (Liara was upset but eh) "Reach and flexibility" still makes me giggle
