"I'm afraid I need to be protective." He says with a roll of his eyes. "She's almost as big of a danger to herself as she is to everyone else. I don't like letting others add to the mixture." Watch? Was she actually suggesting what he thought she was? When his cheeks redden it appears far brighter because of his naturally pale complexion. "Th-that is quite enough of that!" He sputters, not liking the images that she's conjuring up in his minds eyes. He keeps the barrel pointed at her midsection but puts his index finger on the trigger guard. She removed her hands so the threat she posed went down substantially. "This "pipe" can punch through full plate as easily as a broadsword can butcher a pig. I am not compensating for anything!" Is sexual innuendos all that this woman speaks in?! "Look just keep back and every-" just at that moment a glass full of liquid is shoved into her hands. "Oh no.." Cedric murmurs as his mentor happily is making another explosive. "Do you always have to endanger everyone's lives within a five block radius or do you just enjoy doing it?" The assistant asks furiously when his mentor finishes her project. "Do not call me sweet pea!" Cedric shouts, his embarrassment growing. This was getting ridiculous! "I do fine." He says and hesitantly takes her hand.

She shakes his hand firmly then with her other hand grabs the weapon flipping it out of his grasp and into the air. She catches it neatly holding it out of his reach. "Sorry I don't like having phallic objects pointed at me." She laughs. "Punch through plate you say?" She says examining the weapon. "Can't say I like the sound of that my plate's been the only thing between me and a good thrusting more then a few times." She winks. "But I commend your loyalty to your beautiful mentor, hard to find good help if you were a girl I'd ask you to squire for me." She leans forward returning the weapon. "But then if you were a girl I'd have done a lot of other things to you..." She whispers huskily in his ear.

"Oh I'm happy you asked!" She says to the Knight. "This is my biggest project yet, an elixir that will change medicine on the field. A crue all, you could say; something to heal any wound and cure any disease. However, this is only a part of it. There's still much work to be done." She explains happily, but looks at her assistant in slight concern. "Science is a dangerous venture. No risk, no reward remember?" She tilts her head and sees his stress. "You seem frustrated... It was the skirmish earlier wasn't it? Don't worry, Cedric. We still have time to outrun them." She says in an attempt to calm him, not entirely aware that he means her making another explosive mixture.
She turns back to the Knight. "Oh well you see, I call my sweet pea because he reminds me of-" She is just about to explain the origin behind the nickname, which would inevitably lead to the violent description about murdering for survival in a pod again but Cedric intercepts her before he loses his chance and stops her story. "Well anyway, we will probably need some rest. I don't want you burning yourself out... And we probably need some fresh clothes too." She gestures to her attire that is torn on one sleeve, covered in soot and ash and beginning to fray.

When his weapon is taken from him its as though his entire body goes rigid. His eyes fix onto his prototype and his left hand grabs the knife on his belt. His knuckles have gone white from how hard he's squeezing the handle of the blade. "Give it back." Is all he says, he feels like every muscle in his body is screaming to get it back. His eyes are the size of dinner plates and his right hand is starting to shake terribly at his side. He's only the barest moment away from lunging at her with his knife. What she's holding is his life's work. If she were to break it he'd lose his mind. When she leans in close to give it back he snatches it back like a striking cobra. He takes it, flips it around, and fingers the trigger. He doesn't fire though every instinct is telling him to blow her brains out of her skull. "Do not touch my things." He says before grabbing Montague and practically drags her away from the knight towards a corner booth. He doesn't tear his eyes away until they are safely in their booth.

Allison raises an eyebrow. "What's his problem?" She wonders as the boy pull the beautiful lady away. She shrugs there will be time later... She leans against the bar and orders another drink keeping a curious eye on the odd pair.

"Oh um!" Adrienne exclaims as she's pulled away and into a corner booth. She can understand his anger at this point, a scientist's work is their precious child. Grabbing ahold of it recklessly without so much as permission is a great insult, you might as well be kicking him in the gut. Then again, he didn't have to drag her so hard! "So long, Dolphin! Perhaps we will meet again, or maybe you were only made for this scene and cease existing now. Who knows!" She says with her usual grin. Sitting down in the corner booth, rests her briefcase on the table with her elixir inside. It is the first piece to the all cure she has been working on... But her concern is on her assistant and the slight he just received.
"Cedric?" She asks to grab his attention, her tone is still fast but not as eccentric. Adrienne is a woman of science and emotional support is not her Strongest suit, but she does have something might help. "I researched that nostalgia of a milestone memory can provide the benefit of emotional positivity... So here." She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small locket, a watch inside of it. "You said this trinket was a gift from somebody that meant something to you. Leaving a moment like that to perish in the shop would be unfortunate so I picked it up." She says with an almost normal smile, placing the watch on the table in front of the two.

Cedric was mad. Mad at the woman, mad at Montague and most of all, he was mad at himself. He's supposed to keep his mentor safe and yet that woman so easily snatched his weapon away from him. If she had been sent by the same people as the others then they'd both surely be dead. Right now both of them are only alive because they were lucky. If Montague had been killed by his creation, he wouldn't know what to do with himself. He'd spent so much time working with her for the last year and a half that she's become rather special to him. While the concept of friendship and being emotionally attached to someone is probably far beyond Adrienne's understanding, it wasn't for Cedric. "I-I'm sorry." He says quietly, looking to his mentor now that things had calmed down. "It's just I....you seemed so oblivious of what was happening then that woman snatched my prototype away. I thought she was about to turn it on me or you." He shakes his head feeling frustrated. "I just didn't know what to do."
Today had been such a whirlwind of different chaotic events that he'd completely forgotten about his locket. His brows quirked in confusion at her statement before raising in shock as she withdraws his locket. "That's...you picked it up when we were leaving?" He asked, his voice starting to become heavy with joy. "Oh thank you!" He exclaimed. He snatched up the locket before wrapping his arms around Adrienne. He hugs her tight, she had saved it for him. "Thank you." He said a little softer.

Adrienne makes a sudden choke of noise when she was about to say something as Cedric yanks her into a tight hug. She's never been hugged before, since the Alchemist has never gave any indication to be the cuddly type, far from it. But even with her inexperience of them, she is sure they aren't this sudden and tight... She guesses the locket is a lot more sentimental worth than she first thought. Her body is pretty rigid during the hug, not knowing whether to follow up with something or wait and see what happens next. Right, okay. She's seen others hug before, this has to be easy right? Fishing through the vague memories of witnessing a hug in her mind, she takes the first steps. Relax body, feel the comfort of it.. One arm under his and rest the hand on his back, patting it gently. This is a nice gesture, showing my appreciation of this bodily contact. Okay, other arm reaches lower behind him for his bu- waaaaaait that one wasn't your common hug, scratch that. Just place the other on his back too.. She follows the steps in physical form as she runs through them in her head and next thing she knows, it's a mutually shared hug.
"It's quite alright." Adrienne says to him after his thanks. "I may not seem like I am aware of what is going on most of the time and sometimes, that is correct. But I have been on high alert since the goons for my safety... and yours. The woman is harmless to us, that I have perceived which is why I didn't react. She's just a bit... Dim-witted." The last word is quieter than the rest, incase the perverted dolphin is listening. "Regardless, that does not change the fact that she grabbed your cannon. I understand your upset, but do not kick yourself over this. I am giving you my aid, even if it appears I am not." She concludes her explanation. She's been watching out for Cedric since the explosion of the shop. It is why she brought them into the house, why she tried her best to scare the family out so they wouldn't be harmed and why she threw that bomb while in the dangerous open while instructed him to remain in safety, hidden and at a distance. Her words are still at normal pace but not because of the seriousness, but because the exhaustion of today is finally kicking in. "Now if you excuse me..." She says quite groggily. "I am now going to pass out from the pain I am in and the total exhaustion of today's adventure if you don't mind... Where do people find the endurance for this?..." With those words, she slumps on her assistant's shoulder and her eyes inevitably close while snoring softly.

Adrienne Montague, the mad alchemist who harnessed the elements is snoring softly with her chin resting on his shoulder. The moment she had finished her statement it was as though she had been turned off. Her hands against his back fell as consciousness slipped from her grasp."Montague?" The young assistant asked with slight concern lacing his voice. He worried that her burn was more severe than he had anticipated previously. But this didn't really seem to be a sign of her condition worsening but rather that things were going as he expected. This was something he'd seen quite a few times during his apprenticeship. His mentor often would overwork herself beyond her natural limits and this was the end result. The corners of his mouth curled upwards in a slight soft smile. "Get some rest." He murmured to his sleeping mentor. In a few moments he had slid out of the booth with Adrienne's arms draped around his neck and her body on his back. He gets a few stares from the patrons, most of them were the congratulatory leer of a sloshed man or woman. Cedric ignored these as they were most certainly wrong about his intentions. As he walked past the bar he caught the eye of the bar's owner. "We're not here if anyone asks." David nods knowingly. "Course not. You haven't been by for a few days." Cedric knew that David knew his clientele requires secrecy from time to time. Besides it would be bad for business if someone came in and killed his guests. With that the young man with the snow white hair and his passed out mentor made their way of the stairs. Adrienne hardly had time to eat so it wasn't like she was particularly heavy, still he worried about what might come tumbling out of her bag or dress that might be of an explosive nature. To his good fortune nothing happened as he made his way to his room. This was where he'd been staying at night since he didn't trust for the store to not spontaneously combust. He pulled his key from his pocket and unlocked the door, pushing it open with a creak.
The room wasn't very big nor was it filles with much in the way of decoration. There was a wardrobe by the left wall, a wooden table and chair near the door, and a bed pressed flush with the back wall. It was laying so that it touched the back wall as well as the western and eastern walls. Aside from this there was a tiny window above the bed. Gently the young man placed the alchemist down on the soft hay mattress. For his own peace of mind Cedric places the chair for the table against the door knob. He stripped off his sweaty and soot covered leather jacket and white shirt. He sits down against the bed with his Litch und Schatten loaded and by his side. It takes some time for him to calm his nerves but eventually he drifts off into his own dreamland with Montague. In this realm he was commanding grand and powerful armies marching to the beat of a drummer and pipe. He sits atop his white haired stallion with a long flowing cape behind him. He raised his hand causing thousands upon thousands of men all along the line to kneel and present their arms while the ones standing behind them lowered their arms into firing positions as well. The thunderous pounding of footsteps coming towards them could be heard across the field. Beyond his earth ramparts and wooden stakes there was a horde of ankari, Kveldulf, Avalon, and humans charging towards his position. With a savage grin he lowered his hand like an axe removing a head and shouted, "Fire!" As one the line erupted in a series of flashes and ear ringing explosions asailed his ears. The second line kneeled and those behind them opened fire into the horde. The effect was tremendous. Corpses of all races and species flung backwards and twisted in pain as lead balls ripped through them. By the time the coalition of armies understood what had happened and began to move forward once more Cedric ordered his men to make space. With an effortless grace his soldiers all along the battlefield made room for the mighty cannons packed with canister being rolled forward. "Cannons ready my lord!" A soldier shouted to him, "Commence firing!" Cedric shouted and watched as his mighty weapons of war sweapt away all those who'd dare stand against him. Those who were closest to the cannons simply disappeared while others were shredded and mangled in grotesque ways. A shout went up along the lines of, "Hellions!" And men wearing great metal tanks walked past their friends towards the stunned foes and leveled their hoses at them. "Rain hell upon them!" And they did. Great gouts of flame leapt from the nozzles onto the dead, dying, wounded, and those poor bastards who'd somehow survived the onslaught. From his position on his mount Cedric could feel the flames against his skin. His eyes reflected the fire that coated his enemies. "Prepare to fire." He said as the line began to advance to cover their helions. With a start he awoke feeling sweat rolling down his forehead. His heart was pounding fast and a vague sense of satisfaction curled in his thoughts. Light was just beginning to drift in from the window as the deliciousn smell of cooked pork wafted up from the kitchen downstairs.

Since Adrienne had passed out on Cedric due to exhaustion, she began dreaming rather peacefully... At least, peaceful to her. A normal person would consider the Alchemist's average dream as a dreadful nightmare. The mad woman is fully capable of lucid dreaming, to the point where she can do it subconsciously. And she created a the world beyond the Gate, and all of the wonders it had in store for her. Being as she has never been, her mind makes the world up. Purple sky with angry black clouds, the lands are scorched from hellfire and magma and there are creatures running around with two heads and six tails... She didn't have the best imagination when it came to imagery... But she was in bliss! There's all kinds of vegetation to forage from, creatures of exotic proportion to examine their bodies... Humanely... Thoughts spiral endlessly. She could create chemicals and tonics with miracle powers. An elixir that can cure the most terminal diseases, rubbing balm that camouflages the skin like a chameleon! A deadly grenade capable of ripping open the fabric of time. This is a wonderful dream!
Though something interrupts it. It sounds mundane, like a door being softly closed or a glass of water being placed on a stand... But it also sounds like something else Adrienne can't quite put her finger on. Her mind is the most logical organic machine humanity has to offer and can calculate rational conclusions from the smallest piece of evidence and a solution that fits it perfectly... This mind concludes that there's a fucking snake crawling up her leg as she sleeps. She is conscious again, bolting up in a sitting position in the blink of an eye, then releasing the most blood curdling scream the tavern has probably heard. Her eyes dart to her legs while she flails her arm in the direction of the noise and it makes contact with something. Though, her sight confirms that there is no snake, and the sound was indeed mundane. Her expression goes from fear to neutral as quickly as she awoke, acting as if nothing happened. A quick scan of the location indicates that Adrienne is no longer at the table of the bottom floor Tavern, but in a rather comfortable bed... "Hm. Have to assure with the owner there are no snakes here." She mumbles to herself. "What is the will of the Dodo and Raspberry today?" She mumbles against as she stands up from the bed.

Adrienne could hear the sound of a groan from beside the bed. There sat Cedric with both hand covering the back of his head. "Ow!" He had been thinking about his dream and was getting ready to get up when suddenly out of nowhere Adrienne smacked him as hard as she could. "What the hell?!" He demanded and looked at her in confusion. She screamed at him then hit him, let this not be a sign of what's to come. There's the sound of footsteps outside of the room. The bartender from earlier pounds on the door. "Is everything alright?" He demanded. Cedric shot Adrienne a scathing look and shouted back, "Yeah, she had a bad dream." He moved away from the bed and put his shirt back on. The bartender quickly leaves soon after. "Your dream really that bad?"

"Hmm?" Adrienne hums in response to Cedric as his words snap her out of her mumbles. Perhaps it is best that she doesn't think of the will of the shoutbox for now. The Raspberry was drugged and possibly experimented on, he won't be in any proper state to give coherent instructions for a while yet. Then, her eyes light up when she realises it was a question he asked. "Oh no the dream was absolutely fine, sweet pea... I just heard a noise that sounded suspiciously like a snake. I reacted in reflex." It is a good thing her belongings where on the other side of the room because even in a semi-conscious state, she's just as dangerous. Especially when frightened at nothing, that's when she becomes... Destructive...
She then notices Cedric holding his head in what appears to be an expression of pain. She approaches him and her surprisingly iron grip holds his chin lightly as she examines him. "It appears your head was in close proximity of my flailing." She says as a matter-of-fact. She takes the time to look at him thoroughly, the spot where he was hit and for any visible damage. She does this for two full minutes. "...Well I hope you will be okay. Physical wounds is not my expertise so I don't know what I'm doing right now." She finally says and lets go of his chin. Why on earth she even examined him in the first place anyway is a mystery. Was she doing it to show care? Or was it her curiosity taking the lead in seeing if any visible damage was done by her accidental attack? Most likely the latter. "But anyway, where to next my dear? I think it's only fair to allow you the lead for today since I nearly knocked you out cold." She states cheerily, she's probably the weirdest morning person to ever existed.

"A snake huh?" Yeah that sounded reasonable, a snake would certainly be in an inn inside of a crowded city. Normally he'd at least raise a fuss instead he just sighs and shrugs his shoulders. "Well, at least your dream wasn't like mine." He slings his mousquet over his shoulder and moves over to his wardrobe. His shoes clack against the ground as he moves. He had decided to leave his shoes on from yesterday as he didn't want to waste any time if they really did need to flee. He pulled open the wardrobe and began searching through it for something. "Alright then, you'll need new clothes and proper shoes if we're going to be going through the gates."
He shifted an eye to his teacher when he heard her stand. "What? You've already taken a swing once today are you goin- mph." His response was cut short as Adrienne took hold of his chin and examined him like there was something wrong. He scrunched his brow and stared at her in confusion. The place she had hit him still smarts but it didn't require the two minute examination. When she mentions that she doesn't know what she's doing his eyes roll. "I'm sure I'll be fine. That reminds me your bandages need to be replaced and more ointment needs to be applied." He pulled his chin away from her as she lets go and he picks out a pair of his loose fitting white shirts, a dark leather cloak, a pair of khaki trousers, and two pairs of sturdy work boots.
"We'll be needing those boots for our travels." He grabbed his pack that he had in the wardrobe and put in two spare changes of clothes, two horns of powder and shot, three note books and their writing utensils, and lastly he put a few rolls of bandages after he cut a section out to replace the makeshift ones on Adrienne. "We'll get dried rations downstairs from there I guess we got to find a gate that we can slip through. Now let's fix you up a bit." He began removing her bandages and slathered the area of the burn with more ointment from the tin. After he throws it into the pack as well. "There, how's that? Feel any better?" He asks before slipping on his coat and his work boots. "I'll wait outside while you get changed." Cedric says with just the smallest hint of a blush on his cheek, that perverted woman's words from the other night were coming back to him.

"Oh now, sweet pea. I can assure my arm is just--" she begins to protest against the unnecessary check up of her burn wound, but the look Cedric gives her halts her words. She can usually shrug off this kind of pain after a couple of hours and a cocktail of numerous tonics, but it will not change the expression on her student's face, nor the mood should she ignore his request. Besides, the pain is still very much biting into the sensitive and burnt flesh of the forearm and she lacks any tonics right now to numb it let alone the ingredients. "Oh very well, I suppose if it makes you feel more at peace." She says resignedly and allows him to do his work. Her mind wanders a little as he does. Her thoughts go to the Dodo. Although no time has past at all since her response to Cedric just now, it feels like it has been near two weeks for her to have thought it up. Time in this realm and time in the realm of the animal council obey two different laws, as it would with other realms. Heck, some realms will be waiting on the council for an eternity to pull the strings of fate and yet it will only take a few seconds for it commence. Many are damned to remain waiting forever in their time... She does hope that her's and her sweet pea's won't suffer such an ill fate...
Her daydreams are snatched away as the young man finishes with her arm. She must agree with him, it does feel a lot more at ease since he used that thick liquid upon it. She would even dare say the tonics might not be needed. "It is feeling much better than I expected." She says with her trademark grin. Before she can eagerly ask what the plan is, he announces he would wait outside while she changes into fresh clothes. She cocks her head in thought at his words and takes note of his blushing cheeks. "The human body is nothing to be bashful of ashamed of, sweet pea. Unless you have... insecurities?..." She says to him innocently and completely unaware of his discomfort about this subject. Soon, she is alone in the small room. She is forgetful of some her basic needs due to her work but she isn't as barbaric as to wear the dreadful clothes she is currently in when there is a perfectly clean set before her disposal. She puts on the clean white blouse and pair of trousers which leave her feeling slightly refreshed physically as well as mentally... A new set of clothes always has that effect on people. over them, she puts on her boots and waist coat which somehow remarkably remain untouched safe for the odd patch of soot she easily cleans off with a brush hidden within the inside pocket... Well, as much of the soot that it is barely noticeable now. Satisfied, she leaves the room with her briefcase of everything essential. She looks at Cedric with a smile while slamming the door carelessly without thinking of any sleeping patrons. To be fair, they were probably startled awake by her blood curdling scream so a slammed door would be the least of their worries. Now to ask him what she has been waiting for all morning...
"So? What's next?"

"Well," Cedric adjusts the rifle in its sling. "First we gotta get supplies. Then we'll need to find a small portal.. From there we have to distract the guards long enough to get inside. Think you can conjure something to distract them? Maybe pure them away?" The young man leans his professor outside of the bar after waving goodbye to the bar owner. The matter of gathering up the needed supplies was not a difficult one by any stretch of the imagination. Plenty of stores in the nearby area offered what they'd be needing when it comes to surviving on the other side. The streets were busy this morning as the sun began to rise higher into the sky, the gentle rays were warm during the cool morning. It took some time for them to find a portal that looked like it would be easy to sneak through. There were a few portals in the city but only the large ones really ever got used the smaller ones were slowly being phased out but still had to be guarded until they burned up all of their Icilium. The duo are hiding in an alleyway looking over at the portal. "So, got any ideas on how we can lure them away so we can run on through?"

From behind them the pair hear a voice. "Well I can help with that." Behind them stands the Dolphin Knight clad in plate with her shield slung over her back and her sword at her hip. "I've often been told I'm quite... distracting." She smirked quickly grabbing Montague's hand and pressing it to her lips in an overly-flirty greeting. "And one of these days I'd love to show you how much..." She said suggestively. "But if you want someone to distract those guards I'm your woman!" She grinned. "I have a price though." She'd totally ignored Cedric for his lack of tits.

Cedric had unslung his mousquet and was holding it nervously as he thought of what chaos Montague is about to come up with. His mentor was quite the artist when it came to destruction. If there was one thing that Montague was a master of it was this. Just as it looked as though the nutty professor is ready to speak when he hears a familiar voice behind him. "Putain!" He barked in a surprised burst of French as he twisted to confront this new person. Whether friend or foe never even crossed his mind. He assumed that anyone that could pick them out had less than benevolent intentions. Cedric moved with a surprisingly fluid twist of his body. He spun 180 degrees swinging the barrel of his rifle with him. He brought the stock to his shoulder with the hammer having already been cocked. His index finger was on the trigger and was already partially squeezing the trigger before he even saw her face. His hands were steady and the point of the barrel hardly even moved from the spot on her breast where her heart rested. He saw a flash of plate and almost fired which would've punched through her like a rock through damp tissue paper. Cedric glared at her as his breathe came out in a ragged sigh. "What is with you?!" He demanded in a hushed yet insistent tone. "Why are you following us around?" He lowered his barrel to her midsection but didn't take his finger off the trigger. "What makes you think we want or need your help?"

In the council's time, it's been a half year of contemplating the outcome of this event... Or the British Dodo has only just picked this back up. In Montague's time, only fifteen minutes have past. Fifteen very uncomfortable minutes of just her staring in space with a blank expression. Suddenly she sparks to life. "We take them by surprise! GO!" She leaps into action and rushes to the gate. "Sorry but you're irrelevant now!" She calls to the Dolphin Knight. The Dolphin herself hasn't been seen for some time... But she tends to pop up randomly so the alchemist is sure she will return!
These inane thoughts totally distract her from the guards... Wait they're guards? She thought they were just smugglers or some- and she's down. Montague hits the guard like a she ran right into a brick wall, she is swept off her feet and back smashes into the hard ground. She blinks at the sky a few times, not even a groan or grunt of pain, she actually looks like she is wondering what the next stage is... The Dodo always has a plan. She wouldn't usually do something so reckless. Two objects join her vision, the sharp heads of spears point to her face. She just smiles politely at the intense and now annoyed guards. "Hello there! You have a very hard body structure! It felt like hitting wall of steel!" Her tone is as casual and eccentric as ever, the two guards even exchanged a confused glance for a second when she speaks without a single ounce of worry or fear.
