Thumbing through the dossier's finds herself impressed with her companions power sets, even some that would seem less than conventional they'll still have their uses. As for her own records she's impressed with how many records they retrieved from her old military records since half of them were black ops. As for her post-army intel they kept up with her fairly well, give or take a couple assassinations, she got annoyed for a moment when she see's that Mamba also responsible for a few kills she had contracts on.

With nothing left to do in the bathroom, Night exited. She was handed a dossier almost immediately and told to read up on her teammates. Oh well, the mystery was spoiled then, but she wasn’t complaining. She flicked open her own file first to see what kind of information they would have on her. A thorough check on her powers showed they’d certainly been watching and keeping tabs. Hardly surprising since they said they were tracking keeping tabs on powerful Darwins, but it was far more thorough than she thought it might be and this was just her file. With everyone here and how long this organization has supposedly been around, they must either have found very skilled spies and hackers or had a ton of cash to fund their Intel division.
Shifting her eyes down she started eyeing up the heists they’d marked down for her: Museums, banks, and a few heists on the privately wealthy. A few were marked specially for when she had done a heist with Day or in a group, but most of the sheet had her personal heists before she and Day decided to stay together as a team. A few of her heists were missing and a few of the lists of stolen goods were missing some of her steals, but it was almost better that way. Part of her wondered why they hadn’t tried to get her sooner with the information detailing her heists, the other part wanted to know what they ended up missing on everyone else and how important that missing information was. Flipping to the next page she eyed up Day’s file. The depth on information on his powers was interesting, but for the most part there wasn’t much she didn’t know about her partner. A heist or two he may have avoided mentioning and probably a few bits of personal information, but for the most part there wasn’t anything shocking or new. Night didn’t spend long on that page and instead start flipping to the others.
Many of these people had military backgrounds and were mercenaries of sorts. Sounded about right considering how high the pay for this job was. Didn’t stop this from being an interesting group of freaks though. Tabi’s and Black Mamba’s looked about what she expected from their previous kill streaks. One didn’t become a professional assassin without a long list of deaths in their wake after all. She’d spent some extra time reading up on their powers and how they worked according to Blackwater’s information. She only hoped it was actually all right and there weren’t any nasty surprises waiting for her.
Next was Animate. Despite his strange powers and his affinity for museums she couldn’t remember actually running into him, though his reputation did precede him a bit. It was probably for the better that she never crossed paths with him, she’d hate for her steals to run off without her. That returned statue sounded familiar though. Not her heist, but she knew the person who’d snagged it. It was hardly a fun time on their part when their steal re-stole itself. Jobs aside, his power set could be used pretty well for gathering information. Hopefully it was a skill he didn’t try to use against her, but only time would tell.
The siblings were another pair to consider. The sister had a fixation on her brother and the muscle to try and fight anyone who tried to approach him it seemed. If the conversation in the shower block was anything to go by, it wouldn’t’ take much to set her off on a rampage. Hardly a good ally. The brother himself didn’t seem like much at first glance. While speeding his thought process up was helpful, it hardly helped much if he was still moving at a normal speed. If his sister was the brawn, then he was probably the brain. While she eyeballed the details of the two, they certainly weren’t her focus. She’d much prefer less volatile teammates if she got to pick.
She flicked through the pages a few more times, trying to commit as much of the information about her new ‘teammates’ skills and powers as much as she could. She had little faith in getting to keep this dossier and anything she remembered was for the better. Occasionally she’d glance around to try and help put names to faces, but she was mostly scanning for her partner. Even if he was clueless at times, it wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion on everyone here, especially since he had gotten to meet the other members. Maybe he found something interesting from talking to them.

As everybody reads the dossiers, Commander Rourke enters the room again with his troopers. He clears his throat to grab the attention of everyone. Taking this as an order, Troy collects all of the dossiers and hands out another set, this one detailing about the Quinn Family. Their notable members, the made men and women and the Don themselves. Jessica studies it as the Commander speaks.
"This is your first mission, think of it as your breaking-in initiation. The Quinn Family are notorious lately, gaining more power than any organised crime family up to date. To make matters worse, they're starting to target Pride Initiative's resources. They are allied with other families and hired a few mercenaries as guards. You won't be able to destroy them completely in one fell swoop, but you will be able to cripple them beyond repair. Two of their finest made people, Feral and Phoenix, are the backbone of their operations against Pride Initiative. Your primary objective is to eliminate these two targets. Secondary objective is secure all stolen Pride Initiative cargo. I cannot stress how dangerous this family is, many Swigs have tried and failed to hit them hard, which is why we were given the task. You have no back up, no inside help and no extraction until all cargo is secured. You fail, you come back in a bodybag. You succeed, you will be rewarded for your efforts."
Jessica recognises the family. She did several hit jobs for them in the past. They paid very well, but she isn't known for customer loyalty and taking this job against them is an okay in her book. She looks at the two targets. Feral is a Tier Two beast Freak, reassembling a sabertooth tiger. Powerful claws and Jaws, superhuman speed and strength, prone to berserker rage. The other was actually a former Swig who was tired of being used. Phoenix is another Tier Two with power to absorb heat and combust it in her body, turning her into a walking inferno. Ability to conjure flames from her palms, immunity to any fire based attack, burns all oxygen out of the room she is in while in fire form. Jessica is already planning out the most effective ways to kill these two quickly and efficiently. She doesn't care about the cargo, she will leave that task to the others.
"Your gear and role in the task force is in these cases. Suit up and be ready in the mess Hall for your meal. It might be the last one you ever eat." with that, Rourke leaves the room as his troops carry over a crate to each person. Jessica finishes with the dossier by memorising the important details such as her targets strengths and weaknesses, the location they will be, where the petty cargo will be stored etc. and throws it towards Troy, who fumbles to catch it and gives a disapproving look at her. She approaches the crate and sees some words printed on it.
'Jessica McCrory. Marksman.'
Seems they don't much care for her title, but at least her role is incredibly accurate and glad they didn't choose her for a leadership role. She opens it to find all of her stuff accounted for, which makes a smile spread across her face. She begins to equip herself. She straps her hip holsters on and her two handguns inside. Extra clips inside the pockets that she straps onto her torso, a combat knife strapped to her lower leg, her own custom marksman rifle, attaching it with a red dot sight. She also picks out a compact disc that contains her black paint. For an odd reason, she is happy the most about this as she applies it on her eyes, in a smudgey panda eyes warpaint style. She checks her rifle, unloaded so the Guardsman don't get jumpy.
With all of her gear, she could easily shoot her way out of here and maybe take stuck up Troy out as well. But, that Rourke character mentioned something about a reward for killing these two goons. She settles for finishing this job and then going from there. If she likes the prize, she might stick around for awhile.

"Daisy O'Hannon. M.O.E." Daisy grunts she was used to playing Method of Entry it meant she kicked in the doors and absorbed all the fire to make way for the rest of the team. The only equipment they'd given her was an emergency respirator with attatched air supply in case of gas attacks which was one of the very few ways she could be easily killed other then that her body was all the equipment she needed armour and weapon all right in one neat package. Daisy flexed her muscles and kept an eye on Jack to make sure he didn't blow his head off with his equipment or anything.

As Commander Rourke briefs them on their 'initiation', Garret reads over the new set of dossiers handed out by everyone's favorite supervisor, Troy. He recognized the Quinn Family from a couple of his missions. Their little guards, Feral and Phoenix, had crossed paths with him on a job before, and not on friendly terms. Ever since then, the Quinn Family never made a move to hire him. As he thought over possible strategies on retrieving the cargo and apprehending the guards, he looked near the bottom of the dossier to see his position:
'Garret Mohannson-Surveillance/Support'
While he may have preferred a position closer to the front, he still was satisfied with his position and how it made use of his abilities. Garret took a look at the equipment provided to him. His usual black trenchcoat and his mask. He noticed his other weapons on the table too: An extendable bo-staff and two pistols equipped with regular and tranquilizer rounds. While he didn't mind killing people who deserve it, he did feel bad for the innocent. That was what seperated him from most other mercenaries. He cared about what he was doing, and not just for how much money they paid him. That was why many jobs he took were from the government or people who want to right a wrong. Although, he does steal things occasionally. A person's gotta pay bills!

Arriving at the warehouse, Type scouts the outside of the warehouse to see how there security is around the warehouse. Looking through a pair of binoculars at the front entrance there is four guys each holding a gun some of them I'm betting are freaks or swigs. Then you have four others patrolling around the perimeter of the place hope things will be better in the inside. Type looks around for any type of entrance to the warehouse or anything he can use to get inside of the place.

"Jack O'Hannon, communications."
Jack could have spat fire just then so they were leaving him in the back again? Probably with a gun to his head just in case butch went of the deep end. Everyone always treated him like a Goddamn child. So what if he'd never killed? His slow-mo made him a decent shot at long-range and it couldn't be that hard right? Looking in the case he realised they'd at least seen fit to give him some weapons a M16, a Beretta, a combat knife and a kevlar vest. They were nothing fancy like Mamba's gear but at least it meant he wasn't completely defenceless.

"Tabitha Ivanov. Support/munitions" With a tired sigh Tabi is lead into a back room filled with guns, ammo, spare uniforms and medical supplies. She takes a moment to memorize the items and where they're placed before returning back to the group giving a glance to her new team and the soldiers in the room.
"If anyone moves the shit in that room I will kill you!"
Tabi knows that she could always bring equipment from her own bunkers but the less out of her own supply the better.
And as for the Quinn Family she has to hold a laugh in, she'd been approached months ago to kill the family head but turned it down due to the risks. Oh well, she can throw these guys under the bus if it gets to risky.

Night swapped for the new dossier and started her reading again. The Quinn family, huh. Flipping through the information she turned to the two Darwins in their service. A kitten and a fireball, how fun. Consider their second objective was cargo retrieval, she could already figure out what part of the mission was being assigned to her. After all, normally people don’t leave stolen goods out in the open for anyone to take. Eyeing up the details of the papers she wandered towards the case marked for her. Cais Zesser, Retriever.
Lifting the lid easily Night glanced in the trunk. Blackwater wasn’t messing around with the gear. Shifting carefully through the gear she started putting things in place. Lock picking set, multi-tool, some tech for hacking, and climbing equipment. A small grin spread onto her face as she started picking through the equipment. They certain had a few nice toys waiting for her if nothing else. Much of it was similar to her normal gear, but the tech looked a bit different. It would be fun to play with if nothing else, though if the little guide that came with it was anything to go by it was fairly similar to her old things. Whether it was better or worse, she’d have to find out there. Hopefully that had something interesting enough to break into so she could test her new toys.

Day reads through the papers, half paying attention to the information he was given. To be honest he didn’t really care about the others or their powers. He knew enough from his observations, but then a moment of glee took over him. His entire childhood of being a carnie and his birth name were kept out. A sigh of relief fills him as he continues reading, for the most part they got his powers correct they missed something he can do with his barriers, but that’s fine the less they know the better. He realized something much more interesting then all that though, his entire professional career was not listed when he ran as Limelight. The first thing they had on him was when he met Night and the others. He shot up as fast as he can and hurried to Night, it was time for a chat. “We need to talk sunshine.” He states in a serious tone as he stands next to her as she looks into a trunk given to her. “Did you notice how I was a nobody to these guys until we started teaming up?” He is shocked way more than he thought he would. His conning was there, all his ‘relationships of note’ meaning his two ex-wives and ex-husband, all of them ‘deceased’ which was true, but they all died of natural causes Day was a lot of things, but not a killer.
“Forget about me for now what’s your read on the others.” Pointing at Garret he begins. “Pixar over there has a cool move set, depending on his imagination. Says he likes museums, curious we never ran into him, but I guess that’s good can’t blind statues.” He pauses to inhale and addresses the siblings. “Super powered siblings, how lame. Gretel is a threat, but like all armored Darwins a bright light to the eyes is enough to shut them down. Hansel well just don’t play any strategy games against him and you should be fine.” His tone is unusually firm as he shows a rare seriousness to all of this. “Tabby cat and garden snake, well they are the real deal. Best to just stay out of there way, and let them get shot at instead of us.”
A new slip of paper was given to him “Never heard of these guys, but I’m smart enough to avoid the mob.” Skimming the paper his tone grows sarcastic. “They have a cat and a walking holocaust, fucking great.” He reads his job title his eyes open wide, his face grows red with anger as he reads the words to himself. “This is fucking bullshit, someone here is a fucking comedian I swear to fucking god.” The words of his new position crawl through his head as he crumples the paper and throws it as hard as he can at the back of Nights head, direct hit. One of the guards approaches with gear weapons mostly and Day refuses. “I got everything I need for this mission, in my suit don’t worry.” He stops back to where he left his gear grabs it while muttering to himself, those words mock him ‘Night’s sidekick.’

The briefing room doors opened yet again, but this time a massive creature lumbered through with only single guardsman behind it. It stood at nearly eight feet tall, having to kneel slightly to prevent its deformed purple skull from scraping against the doorway. Every inch of its body seemed to be covered in armor, with a slight red glow seeping out through the ridges between plates as it stalked into a corner, squatted with its back against the wall and brought a clawed gauntlet up to scratch at a thick band of black metal wrapped around its throat. Troy, being the magnificent professional that he is, didn’t so much as at an eyelid before waving his hand for the beast’s guard to introduce his charge.
Giving a quick salute to his commanding officer, the soldier cleared his throat, “Asset Maneater is stable and ready for duty sir. Our boys down in R&D say his new collar ought to work at least four times, maybe even five.” He paused a moment, reaching down to his belt to withdraw something that looked like a tiny remote control with two buttons, one red, one blue, each with a cap that must be removed before they can be pressed.
“Whichever one of you winds up being squad leader will be in charge of this device. Should asset Maneater enter a bloodrage, press the blue button twice and his collar will inject a powerful sedative. Be advised that though the collar holds six doses, Maneater’s system is likely to have adapted to them by the fourth dose, if not the third. Developing new sedatives is expensive, however, and a significant portion of their cost will be docked from your pay should Blackwater deem you are wasting injections.”
Pausing a moment, Maneater’s handler looked around to ensure that this vital information had been absorbed and that at least one of the operatives left in the room was paying attention, perhaps understanding the importance of knowing how to calm the ever-improving mountain of claws and muscle if he went crazy. Or maybe it was the mention of docked pay that drew their ear, that was a dice hook for most mercenaries.
“The red button has the opposite effect, injecting a poison Maneater has yet to immunize himself to. This will cause him to lose any semblance of self control as his body goes on autopilot and attempts to obtain biomass by any means necessary to reverse the damage done. While it is my belief that Maneater is much more effective when capable of rational thought, in this state of mind he is able to wield weaker versions of Freak abilities from those that he’s consumed. Do keep in mind that once he has entered a rage, Maneater will not be capable of obeying orders and is unable to differentiate between hostile and friendlies. That is all."
Having said his piece, the guard handed Maneater’s remote to Troy and promptly marched out of the room.

Daisy stared wide-eyed at the monstrosity they'd brought in, she'd seen some pretty fucked up Darwins back at the Facility but this one took the prize for most terrifying. As always her first instinct was to armour up the crystallisation spreading quickly from till her skin was once again impenetrable and she felt safer. She moves so that she's between the Maneater and Jack never once taking her eyes off it. It seemed docile for now but looks could be deceiving though if it tried to eat her it'd be in for a massive surprise.

As the beast-no, Darwin- prowled through the hallway, Garret could see out of the corner of his eye Daisy armoring up. So whoever leads the mission is in charge of it? He'd hate be that person. While the aothers probably thought it was a monster, Garret felt differently. Maneater was still a man, afflicted with a terrible ability. He could relate, as his power had spawned constant abuse from his town. Was he afraid of Maneater? Of course! However, he couldn't show his fear. Garret walked torwards Maneater, and said "Pleasure to meet you! I'm guessing your ability is tier three, considering it's affects on you." He said this with a smile. He doesn't judge by appearances.

Type spots a fire exit with stairs and a rusted ladder looking to around to see if anyone is patrolling around the fire exit. Seeing no-one is coming by soon he starts walking towards the ladder using the shade of the night to not be seen by the guards. "Great I actually have to do something now." whispers type as he back ups to get a running head start, starting to run he jumps and places his foot on the concrete wall using the momentum from running he reaches out and grabs the a hold of the ladder then starts to climb up the rusted ladder. Reaching the top he starts his way up the stairs and hopes to find a unlocked door.

Jack rolled his eyes as Daisy once again tried to stand between him and even the slightest bit of danger, obviously they wouldn't have brought Maneater into the team if he couldn't be controlled. Stepping around her he walked up beside Animate using his slow-mo to absorb every detail of the newest arrival from his thick hide, to his bulging muscles and weird lack of eyes. "Wow man I think you might be the first person I've met who could out slug butch." He said sending a cheeky grin towards his sister.

Watching the eyeless monster walk into the room Tabi felt a chill run up her spine, the man-thing that walked in was an unknown and she hates unknowns. Stepping a little ways back she tries to keep her face steady while porting a small glock to her hand hopefully out of sight from the others. She knows that it won't kill it but it'll wound who ever she does shoot so she can out run them.
"So... I'm not going near that... thing."

Night hadn’t paid much attention to Day’s missing heists from what he was Limelight, but it was still interesting to know that they had either missed or omitted those. How strange. Still she listened intently as Day talked about his take on the others. “I can’t say my take is much different, though Tabi isn’t going to go after anyone unless there’s a reward or a reason. The ‘garden snake’ however,” Night paused before giving Day a look. “She doesn’t seem to have any qualms about stress testing people,” Night concluded quietly to Day, stopping herself when the man had swapped out Day’s dossiers for him.
Night felt a small twitch threatening to break into a smile as her partner had ripped into the enemy’s files and at least that had been something interesting. It almost made everything sound normal, but she knew better than to believe where they were was anything like normal. Night ducked back towards her own case to finish getting set up and letting Day get a chance to finish when her old partner started swearing and before she knew it she’d been nailed in the back of the head with a piece of paper. Grabbing the offensive scrape she wheeled around to face Day to ask what his problem was, but he was already storming away in a fit towards his gear. “What the hell?” Night unfurled the paper to try and see what had gotten him so riled up all of a sudden. He usually wasn’t this bad and-, oh. Night had to stifle a laugh at his position title. Now it all made sense. She tried to keep back a soft bit of laughter as she crumpled the paper up again and shook her head. At least someone around here had a sense of humor.
Finishing her prep she headed back towards her friend, slipping the paper into his pocket as she came up to his side. “Come on, don’t sulk like that,” she teased with a grin. “It’s not the worst-,” pausing midsentence Night glanced up as someone new entered the room. The fuck was that? Staring in confusion at the beast that had been lead into the room, Night stayed firmly by Day’s side. “Someone help us all if Gretel ends up with the remote,” Night muttered softly so only Day would hear her as she started sizing up their new teammate. She didn’t move closer than she already was from it, though she did note that a few of the others seemed more than willing to talk to…Maneater was it? Night slide her gaze subtly over the others in the room. It hadn’t really dawned on her that someone here was going to be in charge of their little group that wasn’t already with Blackwater.
From how their new teammate was built he certainly looked like he was for getting into it with the freaks they were going to fight. Since the teams were already going to be divided into recovering cargo and fighting it would make sense for the squad leader to be supporting or by the front lines to relay orders and keep an eye on Maneater, especially since he’d need a collar. Since Day was probably with her on retrieval that crossed them off quickly. Tabi was backing away in fear, so she was out for handling its controls less she gets too trigger happy. Daisy was unlikely to be chosen as leader from the file about her mental state. Jack might have been a candidate for control, but if they let him they’d be stepping on a landmine named Daisy who would freak out with that thing near her brother. Unlikely, but not off. Black Mamba might have been an obvious squad leader, but Night couldn’t help but wonder if they would deny her the position for the simple reason of not giving her another weapon and not trusting her to do the whole teamwork thing. It was certainly a possibility. Meanwhile Animate was chatting away merrily with the thing, or at least trying to. Considering he was support and communication for the mission, it wasn’t impossible he’d end up leading or at the very least be put in charge of Maneater. “Who do you think they’re going to hand the remote off to?” Night whispered to Day curiously, still mentally trying to deduce the odds of leadership amongst her remaining candidates.

“How dare they, I’m the star she’s lucky I saved her from being a two-bit thief, she was a proper three-bit thief now. Why did he even come here, he should have let those goons take her away.” A small pain pops up in his heart, who was he kidding she’s basically his apprentice she wouldn’t last without him, and he would not let her failure hurt his reputation. The pain subsides and he begins to glow (more so than usual) as he puts his outfit back on. It takes a few moments, years of somebody’s husband or wife walking in on him has taught him how to get dressed quickly.
Night catches up and begins to talk when something cuts her off mid-sentence, another monster enters this one scarier than the last. This job was a terrible idea Day knew he screwed up getting himself involved, but he had to press on. It always impressed himself when he drew a line in the sand and manned up. His body betrays him as he grabs Nights wrist out of fear of the beast, though he quickly let’s go gaining control of himself.
Night’s words ring through his head, someone other than them was going to control this ‘Man Eater’ it was Blackwaters pick also. Day hated when someone else controlled his destiny he wouldn’t let that happen today. His eyes begin to dart from person to person pros and cons of each of them enter his head. “Ok relax and let’s think.” He mutters to himself loud enough for Night to hear. “Just follow my lead I think I figured out an agreeable solution.” He looks at her and gives her his trademark smile this time without the sparkles to show her how serious he was.
Snapping his fingers, he creates a spotlight directly above him, and begins to announce in his booming show voice. “So, you guys drop this bombshell on us, and expect us to be ok with who you choose to hold its leash I don’t think so.” He wags his finger dramatically, and turns to the group. “I say as our first team building exercise we vote on who gets that responsibility.” He extends the range of his spotlight to cover himself and Night. “Now normally the only person I would trust is Night or myself, but due to our mission objective we can’t have him with us so we are out of the running.” With a snap the light disappears and new one reappears over the siblings. “Now Gretel here, is well. Do I need to say it?” He plays the moment for a few laughs and focuses the light on Jack. “Hansel here would be a good pick, but if something were to happen to him because of.” He pauses trying to come up with a nick name for the new guy, but he’s struggling. “Well I haven’t come up with a good nickname for him yet so I’m open for suggestions. Anyway, if Man eater is anywhere near him Gretel is going to lose her mind and lose focus on the mission, so they are out.” He looks at Daisy with a knowing smile on his face. “Besides you don’t want that thing anywhere near your poor little Jacky boy do you?”
He laughs shutting the light off them, and moving it to Mamba. “To be honest Garden Snake, I just don’t trust you with this thing.” There is no comedy in his voice it is a tone of complete seriousness. Moving the light quickly once again this time to Tabi. “Tabby cat here would be a good choice, but with her teleporting all over she can’t keep a consistent eye on him.” He pauses a question forms on his face. “It is a he, right? Sorry I get distracted easily. “He looks Tabi over one more time this time noticing the gun she has hidden on her. “You know that won’t stop him, right?” He begins to question until it all comes together. “Oh, I get it, you don’t need to out run the bear, you just need to out run someone else, I get you not a bad plan. I can teach you some tricks.” He says as he draws a deck of cards out of thin air and with a few moves on his hands they disappear.
Once again, the light moves this time to Animate. “Pixar over here is the support, and the surveillance, he has a decent reputation apparently. I’m not saying I trust him completely, but he seems like the perfect fit for the job. At least to me, if anyone has any objections please let me know.” He snaps the lights off he looks out the corner of his eye towards Night. “Oh, sunshine I think I just lost some fans, but I’d rather that than be dead.” He whispers to her before the others have a chance to say anything. “Actually!” He speaks up last minute. “Man Eater, was it? If you'd like, you should vote too. It is your life being played with, and besides you're part of the team.” Like Dad always said if you can’t be the biggest, make friends with the biggest.

"What the fuck?" Jessica mumbles quietly when she sees the... thing, be lead into the room. She's seen some messed up Beast Freaks in her time, but this one is by far the worse. It is even a Beast? She can't possibly tell. She witnesses Tabitha, who was gearing up near her, beginning to back away and summoning a gun. Jessica places a hand on her shoulder and pulling her back a little, almost protectively, while her other hand rests on one of her hip holsters. "Don't bother. Whatever it is, the guy said it adapts to it's sedatives, meaning it's one of those 'doesnt kill you makes you stronger' type things. Might wanna hide that too before somebody other than me notices." She whispers to her, nodding to the gun in her hand. Jessica wonders why she's looking out for Tabitha out of all of them? Maybe she feels a kinship with her since they basically have the same background word for word and same choice of career paths. Maybe it is also that she will probably need to rely on her incase she needs more ammunition and decided to scratch her back so she scratches hers. Perhaps even a bit of both...
Jessica turns her attention to Day's little speech. She finds herself mentally agreeing with most of his predictions and scoffs when he got around to her with an amused smile. "You shouldn't trust any of us, but I'm the least of your worries." She comments back just as seriously, then nods her heads towards the siblings. She's focused on finishing the job, like hell she would risk jeopardising the whole thing by using this collared monster recklessly. The siblings however, are different. One is way too confident for their own good, the other is a ticking time bomb. She has already dubbed them as two liabilities, but reading Jack's power of extending his thinking time, he would probably be the best candidate in taking the leash, he can slow down time to think about the best way to use this thing in a usually split second decision, he's also either brave enough or stupid enough to approach the damn thing with little Fear. He's got potential, but that hot-headed sister is holding him back. Maybe he should step up and not let her take the wheel all the time. And Jessica is going to be the one to give him the push in that direction.
Once Day is done with his drama and the silence that follows, it's her turn to speak. "So none of you mysterious fellows gonna speak up and tell us who is in charge of us? I'm guessing you're letting us decide this because you think that if we make the choice, we might be more likely to play paddy cake together?" Jessica shakes her head with a smirk. "Alright then, I'll play ball... While he mostly did his speech for dramatic effect, Day made good points about us all. I'm not gonna bore you with details about my opinions because it won't matter. What does matter is that I think Animate should lead the people... But I think Jacky boy should step up and hold Maneater's leash." She locks eyes with Jack when she says this. She isn't trying to throw him to the wolves, but she thinks he might be the only one with the brains enough to use him effectively should the time come, she makes that opinion of him clear in her eyes and winks at him.

Reactions to the sight of a large beast vary from person to person, the most common two being either fear or apprehension, a bit of both clearly visible in the purple-haired girl. Others move to protect those close to them or find security in numbers, the duo of thieves, snake woman and female twin all fall into this category. Then there are the stranger ones, who make themselves known within seconds of the other. First is a man in a trenchcoat and goggles, stepping forward with a smile on his face and quickly followed by the male twin abandoning his sister’s protection.
"Pleasure to meet you! I'm guessing your ability is tier three, considering it's affects on you."
"Wow man, I think you might be the first person I've met who could out slug butch."
Maneater stares quietly at them for a few moments, head cocked as his eyeless skull stares at the pair of extroverts as though trying to understand a particularly curious riddle, only to shrug, putting it off for another time. Yet as his shoulders fall and the beast begins to stand a disturbing sensation prickles the skull of both speakers, like worms writhing just beneath the skin that and-
*Himself, hunched over a mangled corpse on black concrete. The skull is crushed beyond all recognition, but he’s not trying to figure out who this body used to be. His face dives into the meat of the torso, jaws fit to crush stone filling with flesh as fast as they can. It’s a fast process, he doesn’t need to work his away around the bones, not when they snap like breadsticks. In seconds, all that remains of the person is a wide bloody stain on the ground, not even a scrap of meat behind*
-a wave of images comes and goes in and instant, Maneater having barely finished rising from the floor by the time it ends, his heavy tail swaying back and forth ever so slightly. He doesn't look at either of the men who approached him, his face having shifted to watch the rest of the team over their heads.
This is the moment Day chooses to begin his presentation, trying to run the show even as he moves the spotlight away from himself. He’s good at it too, with words coming smooth and practiced, holding the posture of a professional in their field, pulling hearts and minds the way he wants them to go. It doesn’t last long though, and as the lights fade, Day finally turns his attention to the subject of conversation.
“Man Eater, was it? If you'd like, you should vote too. It is your life being played with, and besides you're part of the team.” His reaction is immediate, leveling a single claw at the invulnerable twin. Then he pushes his thoughts at everyone in the room and that feeling of wrongness from before slithers into every skull in the room-
*The assault squad in a warehouse, Maneater collapsed atop a burning woman's corpse as a hole through his torso seals itself shut. Before the wound has finished closing he's already moving again. Teeth rip a chunk out Phoenix's remains and his body moves far faster than something its size has a right to, turning with a primal roar to pounce on the closet living creature, Daisy. He pins her down in his initial charge and starts smashing at her body with massive paws, but not a single hit so much as chips her crystalline skin. While Maneater tries and fails to rip her open, Daisy uses one arm to shield herself while using the other to draw his remote, flicking off the cap and smashing the button down. His body halts mid-swipe and twitches for a moment before collapsing while Daisy stands up, completely unharmed.*
-before Maneater lowers the raised claw and shrugs again, waiting for his leash to change hands.

Daisy blinks uncomfortably as the images fade from her head, that was far too reminiscent of Ma for her liking although while Ma tended to make everything warm and fuzzy Maneater's communication felt more a spider had skittered across her brain. "Works for me." She said after all if she had the leash she could control it and keep it far away from Jack. The Mamba bitch was probably only voting for him to try and get him killed on purpose, she had practically threatened as much in the shower. If the chance came up she might have to arrange for Mamba to have an accident they could be fighting in the dark after all and it was so easy to accidentally smash a skull before checking if they were friend or foe... She wouldn't cry if Day and Tabi didn't make it back either one of them had been touching Jack and the other kept calling her Gretel she wasn't sure why but it made her clench her fists. For a moment her mind flickered back to her first human kill.
It had been the day she'd decided to escape the Facility with Jack one of the new guards had been making eyes at her all week so it hadn't been difficult to tempt him into her barrack cell rather then simply shoving the food through the slot. The punch crushed his head against the wall leaving a large splat of pink goo with a horrible crack and squelch sound. She'd made her way though the rest of the facility taking out the guards one or two at a time and stashing their bodies in the empty cells left by those recruits who'd "graduated" whatever that entailed. She'd kicked open Jack's door (they'd never bothered to reinforce his like they had hers) dragged him out of there still half-asleep. It had been her 16th birthday and they'd been on the run ever since.
It was strange that the creature would trust her with this though as she hadn't exactly been friendly too it and other then Jack and Ma she didn't trust and wasn't trusted by anyone. She really wasn't sure how she felt about this.

Woah, thought Garret. Did he just communicate with me? Garret had no idea what to think. Was Maneater trying to dissuade him from being too close? Garret's mind was full of questions, all of which should be asked on a later date. He slowly got up from his crouched position near Maneater and held his head. It especially didn't help his newly gained headache when Day created a spotlight. After a few seconds, the headache subsided, and Garret was able to focus on the speech being given by Day. He really likes his speeches, thought Garret. He was, however, suprised when he came upon the conclusion that Garret should hold his leash. Day had only known him for a few hours and had already formed a decent opinion on him? Not many trust mercenaries with killer Darwins (Which is understandable, considering most of them being killer Darwins themselves). When Black Mamba spoke up, saying that while Garret should be leader, Jack should be the leash holder, Garret was suprised and in agreement. Ignoring the fact that many seemed to deem him a good leader, Garret thought about how Jack would be good to hold the leash. He had the ability to basically have forever to think, which would be good for not making bad decisions in high-pressure moments.
Nevermind telepathic communication, or being called leader. The most official weird thing to happen yet was Maneater... picking Daisy. Daisy? The one with clear anger issues? That was shocking! Although, Daisy would be able to survive Maneater's strikes. He finally spoke up, saying, "In my opinion, either of the twins would work for holding the leash. If Jack was to hold it, we wouldn't have to worry about rash decisions under pressure, considering his ability. Meanwhile, Daisy would be able to handle Maneater if the occasion arises that he goes beserk and the sedative had been adapted too." He decided not to mention him potentially being leader. After all, no one likes a leader that has a big ego!

Walking towards the last door, Type twist the handle of the rusted door twisting it to the door opens up not want to alert anyone that he is here type pulls out a small drone that has a camera mounted on it. Hell the drone costed a pretty penny but it was made by a technopath that he had right into on the deepweb laying the drone down he take out his phone and launches an app for the drone. Looking at the phone so far there isn't anyone who in front of the door or nearby it either opening the door a bit more he looks down both ways of the hallways no one in sight right or left. Like always type chooses left coming towards a turn in the hallway he bring the dronr back out to see if anyone coming looking at the phone he sees one guard walking towards his way great looks like it's time to increase my body count.
Deciding to use VX this time through the pores of his hands a sphere of VX start to form as the guard continues to walk and the sphere fully formed. The guard turns to have type kick the back leg of the guard getting his left arm around his neck he quickly brings his right hand over the guards mouth having the sphere of VX enter his mouth type release it from it's sphere shape and into a liquid as the guard struggles to remove type from behind him type continues to force the man to sallow the nerve agent. Upon swallowing the agent type begins to choke the man till he dies from the VX or from choking from death whatsoever kills him the fastest is what type cares about. After a couple of minutes the man's body goes limp checking to see if he was dead type gets the all clear then begins to drag the man over towards the fire exit door and takes him outside and sets outside the door to hide him for awhile.
Now continuing down the left hallway type wonders the halls of the warehouse to kill everyone in this place grabbing from his long coat a kriss vector SBR that suppressed and is fitted with a hand guard and M4 stock.

For a second Jack just stared forgetting to even turn on his slow-mo. No one had ever trusted him with anything! His sister and Ma had always treated him like he was made out of glass, the other recruits in the Facility had made fun of him for his "useless" power and other then that the only other people he'd really known had been casual hook-ups he'd had while they moved from town to town. But of course Daisy had to try and steal the spotlight when the creature choose her with its bullshit telepathy thing. It reminded him far too much of Ma and not in a good way as he'd never shared Daisy's unquestioning trust in the mysterious figure that used to visit their dreams.
"How about a compromise? Animate can be leader, I'll take the remote and Daisy sticks with our new buddy over here so if he loses it she can keep him busy long enough to call me and I'll shut him down. I'm going to be working communications after all so I'll know what's going on with everyone and my..." Jack's chest puffed out slightly as for the first time he felt genuine pride in his powers. "special talent means I'll be able to make careful decisions in a very short amount of real-time. Plus this way the remote probably won't get accidentally damaged." Throughout his whole argument he was careful not too look at Daisy who was probably fuming mad about him "putting himself in danger" or some shit. He could handle himself even if Daisy couldn't see it.

Listening to Day's speech just starts to get Tabi even more on edge resulting in her making a silent vow to shoot him at some point. Feeling a hand stop her before she can continue to back away from the new beast Tabi almost fires of the gun by instinct but holds it together.
"Don't bother. Whatever it is, the guy said it adapts to it's sedatives, meaning it's one of those 'doesnt kill you makes you stronger' type things. Might wanna hide that too before somebody other than me notices."
Quickly nodding Tabi moves the gun into a hidden empty holster under shirt, it always easier to teleport to herself than back to her bunker; besides, it can't hurt to keep it at the ready. Tabi looks over to Mamba, a little confused why she seemed almost concerned about Tabi's well being. 'No, can't be that.' Tabi thinks to herself before turning back to the group.
At the point people start debating on who should be in charge Tabi begins to form her own thoughts on the group.
-No one will trust her or Mamba, guns for hire aren't gonna be popular at the best of times so no one will want to take orders from them despite their knowledge on squad tactics.
-Day is an egotist that would let the power go his head long before any real fight starts and Night is solo thief, even if she stays calm she wouldn't know how to command.
-Animate is smart and knows how to use groups, problem is the groups he uses are his own creations and are all expendable.
-Jack can think fast, it may help to some extent but he'll be limited by his sister, and while Daisy might make a good bullet sponge she'll only soak them up for her brother.
In the end Tabi decides that everyone here is an idiot and no one is fit for command and everyone here is probably gonna die, except herself of course. A quick teleport and she can pretend she never heard of Black water.
Then Maneater "speaks". Tabi freezes and almost collapses from the sudden images flashing in her head. In the end she couldn't care less about what he was showing, she only cared that this "thing" was in her head, NO ONE goes in her head! Without any of her previous hesitations and ignoring the others as they decide who's gonna be boss she steps far closer than she ever would to Maneater, craning her head to look him in the face.
"If you ever EVER! Go in my head without my permission again I will make it my sole purpose to figure what would kill you in the slowest most painful fashion imaginable. Is that understood!?"
Without backing down she stands closer than she ever would, though she's keeping herself prepared to port herself away if he tries anything.

Night rolled her eyes as Day wandered out to do his thing. He had his way of doing things, and she had hers. Still at least he put together good arguments, even if the delivery was annoying at best. Still, while she had expected some form of response and debate, a weird crawling sensation in her brain was not one of them. Her hands were at her ears, trying to press against them or lightly scratch them to try and get the feeling out of her head. Even if she knew it wouldn’t work, it was almost instinctual for her to try. Especially with what this thing was showing them. Apparently it thought Daisy was the only one competent enough to hold its leash. Despite how convincing the telepathic message was supposed to be, she failed to see how Daisy was going to actually fight him off and get that button pressed before it got smashed. If anything it seemed like a recipe for disaster.
Removing her hands from her ears she listened as the rest of the group started chiming in with opinions. Animate was her first choice for leader she at least didn’t have any qualms with that and if it came down to it, she’d rather Jack were holding the controls instead of his sister. It would hardly do anyone any good if Maneater’s handler flew into their own rage while on the mission. Speaking of rage, Night watched Tabi stalk over to Maneater in a fit, already swearing to kill him. It was practically the epitome of teamwork.
“I’d agree with Animate and Jack. It’s better if Daisy is the one holding him off and someone else is holding the remote, otherwise you’re just asking for that thing to get broken,” Night commented, crossing her arms as she tried to shift the tension off Tabi and Maneater so the rest of them could settle things while those two.., settled things. Animate hadn’t said anything about those who’d voted him for leader, it was almost surprising. Didn’t he have an opinion on the matter? “You didn’t say anything about it, but do you think you’d be a good squad leader?” Night asked pointedly at Animate, watching carefully for his reaction. He’d been her pick earlier for leader, but if he didn’t have the confidence to say anything about the others voting for him and he didn’t offer up a vote for an alternative solution, well it didn’t really leave them much to work with on where he stood with this. If he had no confidence in his abilities then it was better they all know now rather than later and vote someone else in. If he was too shy or scared to speak up then it was a problem. If he was waiting to see what would happen then it was a reflection of his leadership style, but whatever it was they were better off knowing. A high risk mission was the last place they needed surprises.

Truth be told the telepathy was surprising, but the actual act of it didn’t bother Day all that much. He’s known many mesmerists both real and fake, a circus upbringing hardens you to a few of life’s stranger things. Day’s mind begins to go into overtime, though his interactions with this team is limited he feels he has a good grasp their personalities. It’s time to exploit them he figures.
Jack wants to be more than what everyone lets him. Daisy is simple minded on Jack, there is definitely some weird family issues going there. Animate seems like a genuine and kind person, not many just walk up to a monster and discuss powers. Mamba does what she wants, it’s best to trick her into thinking the decisions she’s make are hers, and not what Day wants. “No, she’s much too smart for that. I may just have to give up on her, and do my best to not get in her way.” Day catches himself looking at Mamba for longer than he wanted, he breaks his gaze to the now emboldened Tabi. It seems Jack was going to hold the leash that isn’t a bad idea overall, Day could work with that.
Day agreed with what Night said about Animate, if he didn’t want to be a leader, forcing him to be one would be a disaster. Day begins to walk towards Mamba intentionally walking past the group now gathered around Maneater. He carefully gets behind Jack making sure Daisy’s attention was still focused on the big guy. Double, triple, no quadruple checking that she wasn’t looking his way he gently puts a finger on Jack’s right shoulder and slowly drags it down his back ending at his left hip. As he walks by he whispers to Jack “Not a bad plan Jack, didn’t know you were so smart and cute.” That should plant a seed or two, Day forms a smile as his plan starts forming.
After getting a good distance from Jack making sure he wasn’t followed by a rock monster he calls out. “Well if Animate doesn’t want to do it that’s fine. I personally think Tabitha should. She’s got the experience and the skill to coordinate us all and provide aid if need be.” Compliments work well on these types, but if you do it too much or too hard they realize you are just being a kiss ass. Day stops walking about ten feet away from Mamba. “I think we should talk. You, Tabi, Night and myself. Night and I aren’t combat specialist, but we are professionals. Yeah, I’m a bit flamboyant, but I know what I’m doing with this act.” Day thinks for a second trying to pick his words carefully. “I’m going to be honest I want to live, and you two are the best here." He turns his head to Night for a second. A slight laugh breaks from his mouth. “Besides I know you know not to believe a word I say. I’m not going to be able to trick you into doing what I want. So, it’s just best if we agree to work together for all of our skins. What do you think?”

Jessica's mind is assaulted by the monster's telepathy. Her mental resistance training kicks in and manages to repel off the invasion of her brain and force it out before any more of the images get worse. She glances over to Maneater and shakes her head very slightly, warning him off not to try that again.
She listens to the other's opinions. Maneater obviously doesn't realise who he is picking. Daisy is almost indestructible yes, but her anger is the severe downfall why she didn't pick her in the first place. She would end up smashing the remote or even using it to turn against them all. It seems msot people are favouring Jack to have control over the remote, but the suggestion that Daisy sticks close? Terrible idea. She will snatch any responsibility away from the kid and cause a family domestic in the middle of a skirmish. Why did Blackwater consider these two again?...
As she keeps listening, Tabi shakes out of her hand and walks up to Maneater and actually threaten it. At this point, Jessica would just abandon any attempt to keep them alive as their decisions border suicidal. But she feels she needs to look out for her at this moment. Jessica doesn't really have any comrades here while some came in pairs and she can already see the seeds of alliances being planted, it's time she did the same. Whether she's doing this as simple survival tactics or genuinely looking for Tabi, Jessica doesn't know yet. She already sees her uses and finds her personality bearable, even bordering on liking it. She should consider Animate as well, similar career path and the tricks he can do have impressed her. She's about to drag Tabi back over here when Day steps close to her and she realises then she's been watching Tabi since she confronted Maneater.
Listening to Day, she confirms that his files are accurate and not as stupid as he makes himself sound and acknowledged that he can't fool her. She's fine with staying out of his way, but she better give him a heads up about how she works before he decides to have a massive hissy fit about it later. "If that's how you wish to play it out then so be it. Fair warning though, when I make my own decisions, I won't consider whether or not it will have an effect on you. So if I do something that you don't agree with or it interferes with your little power play, tough shit and deal with it."
Satisfied with that, she pushes him out of her way and makes a beeline for Tabi. People will see what she's doing and most likely conclude that they will think guns for hire always stick close together. Ah, maybe not. If they're all aware of her reputation, they know that she works alone. Fuck it. Let them think what they wanna think. She steps in line with Tabi and studies the monstrosity for a moment. It's intelligent, else it wouldn't have picked Daisy on it's own accord and it must have also been humanoid-looking at one point and of it adapts to it's damage, then it must regenerate from it, causing many deformities that warped it's whole body, but it's frame and build doesn't look like it's taken disability from it... Perhaps it is also the adaptation that causes the deformities?... Either way, should she need to kill this thing, her regular bullets and knife won't cut it. She will need to step it up a little. In the few seconds it took to observe, she turns her head to Tabi, then back to Maneater, then Tabi. "Save that anger for the mission. Plenty of mobsters to take your frustration out on, then we'll discuss this subject later on." She then looks at Maneater for a final time. "Think about who you want holding that remote. The girl you just picked is more likely to go on a killing rampage than you are." with that, she turns and heads over to Jack for one final thing.
"You know somewhere down in you that your compromise won't work. Your sister will attempt to snatch control from you and influence your decisions. Plus, you have the ability to give yourself all the time in the world to decide on a split second decision. Grow some balls and stand up to your sister." She tells him. Honestly, she doesn't really care much about their domestics but she sure as hell cares about who holds that remote. She doesn't want the mission to fail before they even arrive to their location.

Okay. New weirdest thing. Black Mamba is looking out for, at least it seems like it, Tabitha? They do have a similar background and reer, but it was still odd. After seeing Tabitha threatening Maneater, Garret became worried for the team. They hadn't even know Maneater for an hour and someone already has him on their kill list! He turned his attention to Night. "To be honest, I do think I would be ood or squad leader. My powers have prepared me for that and my position as surveillance would require me to keep an eye on potential threats to the mission, the building, and the team. The problem is, though, that would restrict my abilities. You see, too many animations and not enough concentration leads to bad results. Although, it does seem we have a few of us who can be trusted and are skilled enough to go in lone-wolf style, so that problem is smaller now." He was careful not to share the full scope of his abilities. After all, where is the fun in everyone knowing what you can do? The only people in this team that's seen his powers in action was Black Mamba, so he still has a lot of suprises, just in case.
When Black Mamba spoke to Jack, he couldn't help but agree. From what he's seen, Daisy is afraid of Jack being hurt, bordering on obsessively. Jack won't accomplish anything if Daisy doesn't loosen her grip. And that's what he said. "I have to agree with her, Tick-Tock. Your powers make you the best candidate for the job." Garret turned his attention to Jack's sister, and said, "I admit, I'll never know the feeling of having a sibling, and I never will, but you have to let Jack use his own abilities for once and not depend on you. I'm not throwing him to the wolves, I just don't want him to never use his powers for more then just as a way to win at chess." Needless to say, Garret was expecting to see a big block of crystal charging at him. He hoped he didn't make a bad choice saying that. He really hoped so.

Daisy's eye twitched she really wanted to start cracking skulls right now. They were clearly all in on it they were all trying to get Jack killed! Ma always said you couldn't trust anyone (except her of course) and this was the proof! "Go shove your head up your ass! I know your game! You aren't putting Jack in danger or I will start ripping off arms! He's all I've got and if anything happens I'll..." Daisy's yelling trailed off. What would she do? Jack was the only reason she'd kept going, the only reason she kept fighting without him... she winced.
Fragments of memory. Strapped to a table. A voice. "Well now dear I've never seen anyone resist for so long isn't this curious?" Falling into warm fuzziness so easy to give in... but no, gotta look after Jack! "Very well my dear but one day you might wish you'd let me empty you out. For now you and your darling brother will serve in other ways..."
Daisy blinked. "Jack can have the remote as long as he promises to stay in the communications truck." She said sullenly even putting him that close to the action causing her almost physical pain.
