Hmmm I think with Edward I'm going to try to have him apprentice to everyone, at the same time. Prepare for him to bug most of you to teach him stuff, at random hours of the day because he will make an in depth schedule planning out every minute of every day.

So given we may be setting zail in the next few posts I thought I should ask. How much (if any) zailing related shenanigans do you want there to be? Zee travel is never exactly safe so it seems wrong to me to just skip over it. Plus we have a few Sunless Sea veterans in our midst, so they might appreciate something more familiar to work with for a while.

It wouldn't be the Unterzee without at least one near disaster if not more but I am a big Sunless Sea fan and playing the maritime based character so I'm biased.

That was part of my reasoning. I felt that we'd be kinda shafting your character a bit if he didn't get to show his stuff at zee.

Eh let me do at least some cool captaining and I'm fine my character also has some land based talents (mostly sword fighting) plus I fully expect that at some point we're going to end up trying to escape with the entire Khanate navy on our tails so that'll be fun for me

Why do I suspect Fredrick will be to blame for that?

Fredrick will be entirely blamed for that.

Right, so a possible plan for Unterzee stuff is one near miss at zee and one stop somewhere in the Unterzee for supplies. That should give us enough nautical flavour without dragging it out too much I think. That OK with everyone? Plus does anyone have a strong opinion one where they want the stop to be?

Sounds good to me. Drop Jessica off anywhere where she can be supplied with alcohol and everything will be dandy.

I'd recommend Wolfstack.

I meant somewhere else in the Unterzee. We'll be leaving from Wolfstack after all.

Sorry I meant Gaiders Mourn (brain fart)

Post by silent15 on Feb 7, 2017 22:58:25 GMT
Yeah I'd suggest Gaider's Mourn too. The rest are either too far out of the way (Irem, the Chelonate, Adam's Way), not civilised enough (Frostfound, Godfall), too bloody dangerous (Iron Republic), or I simple haven't played through their stories enough (Isle of Cats, Varchas).
That being said... Pigmote Isle and Nuncio...

So what's Jessica's reaction going to be when its revealed that Edward is basically a troll?

Post by DodoDestroyer on Feb 9, 2017 5:53:40 GMT
That's a good question. Jessica is highly unpredictable in her reactions

Changing the subject slightly, I found this on youtube. Thought it might appeal to Fallen London fans and/or timelapse art fans.

Question. How much of the lore do you want me to give away when Cambyses starts expounding on the mysteries of the Neath? A lot of it could be considered spoilers after all and I don't want to kill anyone's fun when it comes to Fallen London proper.

So what exactly can I do using sigils? I'm finding them fun, and I think I'd want to use them more.

It's not full scale magic if that's what you're hoping for. Well, not unless you can speak the Correspondence which is way, way beyond what humans are capable of (Unless you choose to go East.) But if you could speak it, you could sink battleships with it. If you're just writing it, you can mostly use it to make relatively small-scale alterations to reality. Swords that don't dull, engines that produce no smoke, that sort of thing. The Correspondence is also at the heart of the Memento Mori, if you've played Sunless Seas.
