(Im on 15min break so thisll be a short and sweet take off)
Hiya guys pleasure to have you all here. We shall be discussing a story idea all of you new comers can test out. Also we can clear up any questions you may have.
Ive a few basic ideas we can tweak and change and build together so lets start with those. Anything cam be changed about these ideas, time tech location races etc..
Marshalls: Mech based RP, semi humanoid robotic weapons driven by ace pilots.
ACE: Stands for Ares Combat Exoskeleton- think ironman esque suits.
Wingless: Dragons are godlike being living above the clouds, wingless are exhiled beings serving punishment in the mortal world below.
Clockwork: Dystopian world where a clockwork machine factory kept producing weapons and drove the local people nearly extinct.
Golemn: People have the ability to animate their imaginary friend and build them a shell to control.
Light and Dark: A dream world that shifts radically between day and night, the people are their ideal selves in the day and nightmarish comparisons by night.
Transposed: Your conciousness is pulled from your human shell and placed into something else.
These are all just random base ideas we can add to and alter. If you have anything to add or a vote to cast. Lets discuss.

'Clockwork' stands out to me quite a bit compared to the others, but what's meant by 'weapons'? Steampunk androids that turned on the locals, or simple clockwork weaponry that became so effective it reduced the local populace to infighting and tribal warfare?

Marshalls and ACE stand out the more appealing for me. I always like the futuristic/cyberpunk themes

Marshalls and Golemn are the two that pop out to me. Marshalls for the fact it reminds me of Mecha Ace and Golemn since the concept sounds like it could be a fun RP to make a character in.

First thought was anthropomorphic machines or robotic monstrosities.

Marshalls can be anything from To To

Ohhh that appeals to me A LOT. Wanna make a blade mecha. CQC specialist.
So what are the roles of Marshalls? Warring against other mechas or are we going Pacific Rim style and battle Godzilla-like beasties?

Oh I hope its fighting other Mechs, two sides of coin fighting to prove or to gain from a war, private companies using the war as a means to test their latest works.

Could be both; giant kaiju threatening the world, with the major mecha companies working together in public but electing to backstab each other for profit and rivalry purposes in private, leading to eventual scraps with both.

Or alternaye reality of magic powered mechs hunting dragons demons beasts etc... developing new 'knights'

Never played an RPG with mechs, sounds fun. Grave Situation, pacific rim style or more like a sports fighting League?

Well the exact theme depends on your prefs.
We could go the interstellar future route. Stramge new worlds and monsters.
Singular planet warfare and survival.
Giant knights and dragons.
Perhaps elemental Mechs
or
even phantom Necro-Mechs (defeated pilots and there machines rising from the dead)
Conscription in war.
Sports battles with homemade or nation built machines.
Lots of options and more.

Perhaps even Horror style c'thulu beasts made of strange machines invade the planet. And humans hi jack their technology to make these mechs.

Necro-Mechs sound cool. Half-destroyed or decaying mechs powered by an unknown force and always hostile

Like a zombie horde.

Necro-Tech, Hell everyone characters being hired to find out why the mechs are coming back and if possible find the tech that letting the Necro-Mech fight. Since, they wouldn't know about the pilots coming back once more to pilot their mechs. Maybe put a mystery behind the plot of the RP for the characters to find out why the pilots are vengeful and continue to fight beyond the grave.

Parasitic abominations. Special branch of Marshalls are tasked to quarantine and eradicate them as they can spread rapidly. They get inside a Mecha, they kill the pilot and infest the piloting system and somehow control it

Is this going to be Deadspace Mecha Edition, if so sign me up! By muscle memory, the parasitic is able to recreate the movements of its host getting it ability to control the mecha like it's now-dead pilot.

Perhaps we play as a small group of reanimated mechs, possibly installed with some kind of defense against whatever virus is affecting mechs allowing the group to retain enough of themselves to not immediately become 'feral' or aggressive. It could be set either in a post-apocalyptic setting where only these reanimated mechs populate the planet, or during the main incursion of the virus.

I'm more inclined to be a part of a cleanse team tasked in containing the infestations and putting down Necro-Mechs

Perhaps part of the team is dead, unbeknownst to the rest of the group. That could create an interesting dynamic if it is ever discovered.

In such a team, I’m always partial to the bioengineer that rarely sees combat and is not nearly as capable when cornered.

Firetrooper. Teach the parasite the meaning of Scorched Earth

Think umbrella Corp soldiers. Small elite force of custom mechs and Perhaps there are 'altered' or experimental pilots.
Even a mysterious mech in the wasteland that helps out out of nowhere. Idolaye communities building their ownbto defend their towns etc...

Ill likely be mechanic or air support for sheer simplicity and to guide the group story wise.

Oh Umbrella Corp style team? I'm all for that. Primary objective is securing some sort of data, Secondary is the parasite

I suppose I'll be the "gunslinger/soldier" type.

I can probably do the general scout/sniper role.

Were going to need someone to diagnosis what's going on with the Mechas and to see how the parasite interacts with the Mecha, so if anything greasemonkey or technician to help with any technical problems.
