"Can you knock it off Yon ?" Lauren taps the mage's shoulder with her shield, embarrassed. "Please Captain, she is already unbearable most of the time, don't feed her imagination, i beg you."

After Iris heals the majority of Tristan's wounds, she looks up to him. "Remove your armour and clothing." The sudden request is blunt and able to catch the hardiest men off guard. Seeing the look on his face, she rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. "Your shoulder and leg. Reaching them to heal while you're wearing your attire will make it more difficult than necessary. So remove them."

"I'd ask you to be gentle, but I think you deserve to get back at me, because of earlier." He winces at the pain of the first arrow being pulled, she definitely wasn't going easy on him, but there was no maliciousness to it either she was being professional. The feeling of being magically healed is indescribable, there is a warmth to it if this is what the Chantry says the Makers love feels like maybe Tristan will get on board. She forces a potion into his mouth, which he submits to her every command. He moves when she wants him to and stays still when she says so. After the bottle is removed he opens his mouth to speak. "I'm sorry about earlier, I said things I wish I didn't." He looks ashamed of himself while she grabs more supplies. "And it shouldn't take me needing you, to apologize. I would never let anyone take you back to that hell, I don't know everything that happened, but Karla told me it was beyond terrible, I won't let that happen to you again. You are important, to..." If he had anymore blood in his body it would be in his face. "the company." He finishes his sentence, after a brief pauses.
The order to strip caught him off guard, he looks at her shocked, but her face is stern. "Are...ar...are you sure? Do you need to do that?" There's a nervousness in his voice, he somehow blushes even though most of his blood is on the outside of his body. "Maker..." He curses, beyond embarrassed. "I swear if Yon shows up...can we do this in my tent at least?" He pleads to her, she seems to give him the small courtesy The two make there way to the tent. While inside he sits on his bed roll, and begins to remove his chain shirt. He is slow at it, mostly because of nerves, but a little has to do with his wounds. He removes his cloth undershirt next and moves onto his boots, socks next then his armored pants. "I..." He wants to stall, but he has nothing to say, he just quietly sits there slowing removing his armor until he's only in his underwear. "Oh Maker, I can hear them now." He thinks to himself imagining the mocking the others will surely give him. "Is this good enough?" Praying she doesn't ask for more.

"If you must." Iris responds to his request as she follows him into his tent. She sits down, arms still crossed, and taps a finger on her upper arm impatiently. Why is he stalling? It's just a healing procedure, nothing inappropriate is going to happen and she isn't going to laugh at him. She wishes he and some others were more like Yonet when she requests this, she has no problem stripping down for healing... She only wishes she didn't have to go fully naked when doing so and making the whole thing some dirty joke.
She finds herself unconsciously turning away when he is just in his underwear. Okay... This just got weirdly awkward and she doesn't know why... She's done this to all the other companions and just got on with it, including the other men such as Bherick and Teathron. Why all of a sudden she feel like she is violating his privacy? She clears her throat twice as she suppresses her blushing cheeks. "Th-that's enough." She says, thanking the Maker he didn't remove his underwear too. "And stop acting so shy. They're not coming back for awhile, nobody else is here but us." She says in her sarcastic tone as she gets to work, she focuses her sight on the wounds, it is awkward as it is and doesn't want to glance anywhere else. Her speaking tone has less malice in her voice this time.
As she works, she thinks about his words... She can tell he's sincere about the apology, feeling relieved that he didn't mean it as much as she thought he did... But it still hurt a lot. The Circle is her one true fear, and hearing those threats was something awful, even if he didn't mean it. She doesn't call him out on it like she would usually do in an argument. One, there is no point and shouldn't drive a wedge in the group larger than the one she has already created, and two, the fact that Karla told him about her past... This is bothering her. That was highly personal and traumatic, she feels a little betrayal that she shared that information with somebody she has had many conflicts with... Though he was her second in Command at the time and trusted him, she can't hold it against her much.. But she wonders how much he knows about her now... "How much did she tell you?" She asks to break the silence between them, she must know. Is he aware of Templar Eric? The way her terrible treatment was ignored?... The murder she committed?...

"Haha, oh Lauren you adorable warrior. If my time being around this group has taught me anything so far, it's that Yonet being unbearable is simply a force of nature. Trying to get her to stop is like trying to stop a hurricane." After a few more yards she glances back. "How much do you guys trust Tristan? Or I guess for that matter, how much do you trust me as well?"

Why must I take so long getting back onto his feet. Taethron catches back up Yonet, Lauren, and Clara after a short run he catches back up with the group. "Sadly, I'll have to ruin your fun together." Says Taethron jokingly as he walks behind the three.

As Iris continues to work on him he just focuses on his body not 'reacting' to her touch. He flinches the first time she makes contact, unable to control his nervousness. She has a bowl of water and a rag Tristan grabs the rag and begins to wipe off the blood on his hip. "Not much, this is embarrassing, but a few months back, when we were doing that mission to for those Dwarven sisters. You remember? We ended up fighting a bunch of Darkspawn, underground. " He pauses for a moment, as he takes a trip down memory lane. "That was the first time, I'd ever been down there. First time I fought Darkspawn too, I was never so scared in my life. I thought Yon would cause a cave in or something and then we'd spend the rest of our lives down there."
"Back to what you asked." He snaps out of remembering as he tries his best to wash his back, but he is failing with his hurt shoulder so he gives up and lets Iris do it if she wants. "One night we were camping down there, you said or did something that really got me angry. While I was in the tent I made a comment about how we should send you back. I didn't mean it I was just angry." His voice becomes weaker as he remembers what happened. "I've never seen Karla so mad before, She slapped me immediately as hard as she could knocking me to the ground when I tired to get up she'd knock me down again, after the third time I just stayed down." He stares at the floor, he never told anyone this before, he didn't want to but Iris was clearly bothered by him knowing about her past. "She started yelling. 'Never say that again! She's gone through more than you ever have!'" He inhales and sighs as he continues. "As I lay on the ground she kept going. 'She is part of your family now! You never wish that hell on anyone, especially those that are family!' If I tried to protest she'd keep going. 'I don't care if she said that to you, that's crossing the line you will never say that to her again or I will make you sorry. Now go apologize to her.'" He sits quietly in the the tent for a moment. "I never did apologize to you, I was going too, but then you made some joke about me to the others. I got so mad I went back to my tent. Later Karla apologized for the way she acted, but I had already forgiven her, I know she was doing that out of love for you. Maybe I was jealous or something, but I always hated you a bit more after that night." He doesn't look at her the only thing he can look at is the ground, out of shame he can't stand to look anywhere but down.

Yonet laughs at Taethron "Sure you don't want to get in on this elfy? I'd hug you to but I might crush your bones and then Tael would be upset." Yon ponders Clara's question her face becoming unusually serious. "Back when I was Seheron we followed the biggest toughest bastard until they fucked up then someone else killed him and they became the boss but that's just how shit works with Tal-Vashoth. As long as Tristain doesn't fuck up too bad and keeps me with enough coin for booze I ain't got no complaints and if he does mess it up well... hopefully he'll do the smart thing before I have to get serious." Her smile returns. "As for you I'm still working you out you aren't like most templars I've met, a lot better looking for one, but don't think just cause I want you in my bedroll I won't rip you apart for double-crossing us."

Bherick pondered Clara's question for a second before answering. "I've done a lot things I regret and I'm certainly not justified to judge on leadership but Karla took me in when no one else would and she always did right by us. She named Tristain her second and I trust her judgement the boy's green but he'll learn and I'll stick by him and the company. You've been straight with us so far and haven't made a big fuss about the mages and I appreciate that but no offence you're an outsider ma'am and it takes more then a couple of days to earn my trust."

Iris listen attentively to his story. She remembers that mission, it was her first encounter with the Darkspawn as well. She never so scared in a battle before, but it was the good kind of fear that kept her alert rather than freeze her up. Out of all monsters, animals and vagabonds they have faced, she dislikes the Darkspawn the most... The nightmares that followed were horrendous, being eaten alive and beaten by those fiends... Iris snaps out of those memories before she has a repeat of those sleepless nights.
Then he talks about Karla defending him, remembering her own side of things. She was mad at Tristan for a reason she fails to remember and said some pretty nasty things to him, but she was unaware he said that to Karla... Her reaction to his words was surprising. It's rare she's ever seen the woman angry, but even in her worse moods she never struck anybody, at least that she's seen. To know she defended her so valiantly makes Iris miss the woman even more. She remains silent for a moment when she finishes speaking, she even stopped her medical aid to him as she mulls on his words, looking down for a moment. A few seconds, she looks Tristan in the eyes, tone fully serious. "Let's just say for now that Templars don't always watch over the mages at the Circle. Some have more malicious intentions." That's all she has to say about it. She is not ready to get into the details of her experience. She's only shared it to two people and it took a lot out of her both occasions. She keeps a stoic face, but her eyes tell a story of a troubled survivor. "She scolded me for that joke. Told me that I should give you the chance I kept refusing to offer, no matter how much tension and hatred we had for each other, we were still family. Family look out for each other. I was... Annoyed with her when I had no right to, ignoring her words... Well, tried to..." She would be lying she said she didn't watch out for Tristan since then, just like the aid she is giving him now. Karla was always deceptively persuasive like that.
She continues to patch up the last of his wounds, bandaging the major injuries after using her magic on them. "You can dress yourself again... I'm sorry for what I said about your father... I was out of line." She gets up and waits outside his tent, giving him privacy to change into his armour again. It's the first time she said sorry to Tristan and actually meant it. It's a big step on both sides, but there's still a long journey ahead for the two.

Clara nodded after hearing what they had to say. "Well, I'll take your word on it then. Tristan's inexperience and grief are dangerous to the safety of all of us. But, if you think he'll pull through I'll trust him. Just keep an eye on him alright? The lad worries me." Upon hearing their thoughts on her she couldn't help but chuckle. "Good. I wouldn't trust me either after such a short time. But you should know, everything that I said I would provide you after the mission, I will. You may not know it, but if I were to double cross you and survive the order would have me executed." She said casually as though it were common knowledge.

Putting on some clean clothes, Tristan stays in the tent for a moment trying to relax. He wasn't mad anymore, just overwhelmed. "Did we really just have a nice conversation?" He thinks to himself wondering how long this truce will last. Leaving the tent he speaks up to Iris "You don't have to tell me everything. I know a bit of all your stories, Karla told me enough so I wouldn't be surprised but not enough to betray your trust." He stretches his shoulder trying to see how much of his movement is impacted, luckily not too much. "Don't worry about my Father. If I cared about his thoughts I wouldn't be a Misfit." He says with a smile on his face, as he lies his father was a sore subject for him always being the useless son, only good to be married off and nothing else. Not allowed to join the army or the Grey Wardens, not allowed to do anything without father's permission.
He shakes these thoughts away, looking back at Iris' "They will be back soon lets get this camp cleaned up, and ready to move." He starts breaking the camp down the work his harder than normal, he's so exhausted and still sore but he pretends everything is fine. He keeps catching himself stealing glances at Iris, and scolds himself every time to focus on work after the fourth or fifth time a feeling of dread surrounds him. He thinks to himself with a scared expression on his face "Oh Maker please don't tell me I caught feelings for her....".

Iris thinks over Tristan's words a little. She appreciates him not to pressing her further about it. But she will tell him in time, maybe it will give him insight on why she's been so hostile to him and at times, the others. While everybody else has shared their pains, she's still the only one who has kept hers hidden. Karla always said it's her decision to tell them, but also unhealthy to keep it bottled... Perhaps in the future.
She begins to help with the camp, packing up the cooking utensils and potion craft, completely oblivious to Tristan's glances he's sending her way. She wonders what will become of the two now. They have settled their differences, whether it's temporary or for good, and she actually doesn't feel distaste for him after that... However, her barbed wit is her defense mechanism and it's gotten her through the toughest times, it's the one thing he hates the most about her. She will try to not be as hard on him from now on and cooperate with the orders if they are serious ones. Ugh, this is going to difficult... Why did she have to start caring for his feelings?

Just as Tristan and Iris were finished with packing up camp, Clara and company returned. They looked sweaty, covered in gore, and had a grim attitude about them. Clara's armour had a few nicks and minor dents but nothing she couldn't fix up. Yon had a few scrapes herself but none looked life threatening. Lauren, Bherick, Teal and Taethron all looked healthy. Clara was in a foul mood when she arrived. "The village was in the midst of being raised. There were no survivors." This wasn't the first time she had seen towns raised before, their populace butchered like animals. Still, each time she sees the lifeless forms of innocent people, it takes a toll. "If you're ready, I'd like to get going. Before more of those things spring up."

Yon stretches she was feeling satisfied she'd had her fill of fighting for the day. The others had clearly been disturbed by the scene of the massacred village to Yon it might as well have been a sunny field. She'd grown up in the worst warzone in Thedas she'd killed since she was old enough to hold a blade the darkspawn were stronger then the villagers so they killed them, she was stronger then the darkspawn so she killed them that was how it worked among the Tal-Vashoth and throuhout most of the world the the wolves eat the rabbits and the dragons eat the wolves and so on.

Bherick stalked into the camp and spat in the dirt. He'd done some nasty shit for the Carta but he'd never killed whole families like that down to the babes in their cribs. He thought of Mirta and Dwon and darkspawn in their home and his teeth ground together so hard he was worried he might reduce the to stubs. HE'd never been the kind to enjoy violence like Yon he'd only ever done it out of necessity, or at least what he believed to be necessity, but right now he'd have happily butchered an entire legion of enemies. "Yeah I say we get moving boss I don't want to stick around here after that shit."

"Darkspawn, so many of them and this far north, Maker that's concerning." Tristan sighs looking at his gore spattered companions. "Lets get out of here. You all get in the wagon, Iris and I are the most rested. I'll drive the wagon, she'll ride next to me. Bherick if you're up to it, keep an eye out the back again. The rest of you rest up the best you can, we will travel about an hour or so, and we can try to make camp again. Unless we stumble upon the Dalish, which sounds like a god send right now." A few minutes later the wagon sets off again, going through the forest.
The ride is uneventful the sun is setting and it starts to become unsafe to travel Tristan makes a decision to park, and attempt to make camp for the second time. "Ok make camp again, Yon you get first watch, Bherick you're with me lets scout a bit make sure we don't repeat what happened earlier." As the others begin to make camp Tristan surveys the others. "Clara you have the camp until our return." He states to the templar with a nod of respect. "Come on dwarf those stubs you call legs are gonna slow us down enough, no point in wasting even more time." He laughs at Bherick as they head into the woods, after being a bit out of earshot he whispers to the dwarf. "Bherick can I ask you a question? You're probably the only one I can ask about this, its a bit personal." Embarrassed he keeps his gaze away from the dwarf pretending to be vigilant, but he's just trying to hide his blushing face.

Bherick rolls his eyes as he follows Tristain the Misfits never seemed to get tired of short jokes. As the lad asks him Bherick has to fight down a chuckle well the lad was getting to that age and having been away from his father and brothers for years... although he thought the lad would have learnt enough from talking to Yon. "I'm guessing this the kind of question you don't want Yon hearing about?"

Meanwhile back at the camp, Lauren is currently busy cleaning the remaining gore from her weapon, She would like to make small talk during that time but from what she can see everybody is busy, Yon is on watch duty, Tristan and Bherick are scouting, Iris is probably reading or busy on her own; Taethron is meditating as always, at least that's what Lauren thinks he is doing most of the time and the Knight-Captain... Well she is the Knight-Captain, she can't be her usual in her presence, only Teal comes from time to time when he is not wandering somewhere else. "Everything is alright boy ?" The dog barks, yep everything is good on his end, he sits next to Lauren, expecting his usual petting, she always liked dogs and Teal was no exception and the fact that he was a mabari don't help it. "You know Teal, I wonder what we will discover in these ruins, and what's going to happen to us after that, I'm sure the Captain will respect her bargain, but it's what we will become after..." The shield maiden's voice is getting weaker, today was really tiring for her, staying up late before going on this journey was a mistake and the exhaustion is taking it's toll from the last fights.

"Why clean the darkspawn blood from your blade?" Iris says as she walks over, book in hand. Her tone is as critical as it always is when she talks to Lauren, it's cold but not immediately hostile. "It would be an effective poison to whatever we face in the ruins."
She sits down cross legged beside Teal, so the dog is between the two women. To avoid any unwanted surprises again, Iris is sustaining a telepathic spell around the surrounding area of their stop. She will receive a feeling of intrusion should anything enter the invisible field, the downside is she is unable to use anything more of her magic while she keeps it active. She opens her book and begins reading it, a new one this time around, but keeps her ears keen should Lauren wish to speak to her.

Lauren sights lightly at the mage's comment. "You know that I dislike being covered in gross thing like that." Lauren can't stand to be dirty, after one mission when the company had to travel in smelly caverns she actually spent a whole day bathing to get rid of the smell. "And you know that I don't need poison to get rid of something, one bash to the head is enough most of the time, maybe two or three if the guy is a blockhead." She glances at Iris before looking at her weapon once more. "I always wonder why you act like that toward me you know... I mean, how long do we know each other, that I'm here for you, both in battle and everyday ? I know what you think about me and all but don't you think after all we did together we should be better friends ? I'm not like the Knight-Captain at all and you know it Iris."

"It may not be something we can take care of in one or two bashes." Iris counters without looking up from her book. "And I'm not hostile to you, am I?" She says to the Templar, thinking that should be more than the explanation she needs. She isn't as cruel as she is to Tristan and tolerates her unlike she does with others like her. So what is the problem?

"It's not that you are hostile, it's the way you react toward me sometime, the fact that i'm... Well, you know." Lauren doesn't doesn't want to say the word near Clara, and Iris knows exactly what she means by that. "It's the way you are near them that make me think that. You are a good friend for me, I like being with you, all of you. It's just that even I was able to be as good as possible toward you you will always act like you do." Another sighs escape her. "We all got problems and troubled pasts, that's why we are Misfits, why we should look past what we are to each other."

Iris listens to Lauren's words and then sighs as she looks up from her book to Lauren. She can't ignore the young Templar this time... "You being what you are is the sole reason for my resentment, not you as a person. At times, I am cold and passive aggressive because that's how I was molded." She young mage explains without revealing anything of her past. "Regardless whether I speak down to you or not, I would avoid you like the Blight if I didn't respect or give my concern for you. I may not show it often, but I do care whether you live or die."
She looks back down to her book. "Besides... According to most people in the company, I am a mabari's bitch to everybody. You're not special in this case."

Clara returned the nod and went about removing her armour as the rest of the camp began to settle. Bherick and Tristan were making their way into the forest while Lauren and Iris were chatting at the edge of camp. She kneeled in the cold grass and gently laid out her equipment before her. Her sweaty homespun shirt and britches clung to her form like a second skin. She went about removing the bindings that had kept her breasts from interfering with her armour fitting. She had always laughed at the thought of armour smiths crafting elaborate pieces of armour to accommodate for the female form. The amount of time it would take to make these modifications would nearly triple the cost.
She was not laughing however as she stared down at the blood covered metal and chain. Her mood was much darker as she though about how many times she had had to do this. How many times had she been too late to be the rescuer and ended up the avenger? After her time in the order it was hard to remember. How many times had she been forced to drink herself to sleep because the faces of all those she couldn't save haunted her? Too many to count. How many times had she made a mistake that resulted in innocent people or her friends being killed? She closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath. Questions like these are why she hates the quiet stillness of night. It gives her far too many opportunities to think of her failings. She opened her eyes and went about cleaning the Gore from her gear in silence. While her thoughts tried to torment her she knew that ultimately she was in the right. She had saved people during her career, she was protecting those who couldn't protect themselves. The people that she did have to kill would've killed more people who didn't deserve it.
At last she came to her sword, the blade needed to be cleaned and sharpened before she planned on sleeping. She wiped it down before producing a whetstone from her pack and went to work sharpening it. After a few moments she took hold of her holy symbol and began to murmur a prayer.

Iris snaps her head in Yon's direction and sneers at her. "I told you keep your perverted thoughts to yourself!" She snaps. "My body is not one of your dirty fantasies you can so openly talk about!"
She then remembers something from the previous battle. "Also we need to hone your willpower and once more. That Darkspawn's life draining magic could have killed you, but it was also easily broken that an amateur mage could have broken it. You got sloppy again. Do my lessons in dispelling magic just go over your head everytime?" The words are as sharp as one of Bherick's daggers, but in reality she wants to make sure that doesn't happen again. The next time could put an end to Yon's life and if she didn't care, she wouldn't continue to bother with focusing her willpower over and over again.

Yon laughed. "Aw don't be embarrassed book-worm learn to take a compliment like Cla-" She trailed off as she spotted the templar praying. Yon had always been uncomfortable around religion it wasn't really a thing amongst Tal-Vashoth and the misfits by and large didn't pray much. Oh Bherick cursed by the Stone, nobody was quite sure what Taethron believed in and the rest at least paid slight lip service to the Maker but at the end of the day they normally preferred to be enjoying themselves or doing something practical. Her group in Seheron had actively disliked religion, reminded them too much of the Qun apparently never mind that the Vint priests tried to explain that the Qun was more of a philosophy and hated by both Chantries the boss had still butchered the poor sods with even more prejudice then they normally gave to Vints.
She came back to the present just in time for the end of Iris's rant. "Argh fucking fine! How does it go again?" Yon was still pissed off that the darkspawn had got her like that and she didn't want to end up vulnerable like that again.
