He heard the staff cut through the air as Alice jabbed her weapon towards him. Instead of moving out of the way of the strike he continued his path forward. His left hand snapped out to slap the staff's end just enough to avoid him. Just like that an opening had been created, he stepped forward and fired a shot at her midsection. The strike connected but it did so with extremely little power, it was more a tap than a strike. He danced away from her retaliatory strike, the tip of the staff passed within a hairs breadth of his face. "Your speed and form is excellent. However, when I try to go in like that feign the strike so that when I go to slap it away you switch targets."

Alice flinched slightly at the unexpected contact but took a deep breath and relaxed. He was wearing the suit, she couldn't give him nightmares. Biting her lip she nodded at his advice. She decided to try something else. She began with what Scarface had told her was a spin-attack. It was where she made a sort of wind-milling motion alternating ends of the staff almost like she was kayaking. The idea was that it'd force him to retreat putting him off-balance and forcing him to counter-attack (he wouldn't be able to dodge left or right due to the alternating style of the attack). As soon as he counter-attacked she'd take a quick step back and strike at his leg hopefully tripping him up.

Sven was sat at the desk thoughtfully provided by the staff in his room when Intel popped up from his wrist. "A new media-broadcast is available. Shall I play?" Sven nodded. The broadcast would contain more information about his targets. The first one who appeared was Audrey Cromwell aka Ruby. As he watched the clips from her interview his jaw tightened. He might have to bump her up from a Class-1 threat to Class-0. She almost used her powers on an unarmed civilian just because she was angry! He would need to keep a close eye on her in the future. Sven's class system was based on a multitude of factors but essentially came down to two things: how likely was the target to lose control either because of BMS or some other factor and how dangerous would they be if they did lose control. He had no definitive evidence on how large Ruby's explosions could be but she was classified as Infini which coupled with her clear lack of control worried him.
Next-up was Crescendo who he hadn't had a chance to classify yet due to lack of information. Watching the interview Night Terror marked him down as a Class-2. His powers were strong no doubt about that but hardly world-destroying and if Sven was honest with himself he felt a grudging respect for the young-man who'd clearly been through some tough times. Sven's scars started to itch under his clothes and he shifted uncomfortably as they reminded him of what Infinis could do. This Darrius might be less likely to lose control then the others but he still must be watched.
Next up was the biggest threat in his mind... Matrix. Her power gave her the ability to cripple modern civilisation and her... mental differences from the norm made him extremely nervous that one day she just might do it. He was sometimes tempted to make a Class above 0 just for her.
Sven didn't learn anything more of use then what he already knew about Highlight and Orbit their Class-1 statuses remained unchanged.
Sketch... another Class-0 threat. Highly unstable and very powerful. His power had almost limitless applications if used correctly and combined with his drug problem and clear emotional issues, not very promising.
Livewire! Sven's jaw clenched. Those who have used their powers for ill once can easily revert. Livewire wasn't the most powerful of Infinis so he was objectivity a Class-1 target but the less rational part of Sven's mind considered him the number one most likely to be put down.
Finally Wonderland. Nothing very knew there. Dangerous on an individual level but beyond that not an issue and while clearly delusional she seemed stable in her madness so he felt little threat. Class-2.
Sven barely even noticed the host's response to him. He didn't care, he didn't need or want their approval he knew his purpose and he would carry it out. He decided to spend the rest of the day updating his dossiers and preparing counter-measures.

As she approached, her staff slicing through air at tremendous speeds, he assessed his options. He could back up and try to grab the staff itself or he could press forward and see precisely where that gets him. He placed his foot back letting her begin to gain ground, he waited until just before she was within range. At the last second he lunged forward, his feet leave the ground as he pounces. The sound of a smack a grunt of pain, and the sound of two people falling to the ground all happened in quick succession. Darrius' back felt like he'd just been kicked by a mule. The pain wasn't quite as important as his current position on top of Alice. "Got you." He said with a chuckle as his cheeks turned red.

As Darrius fell on top of her Alice let out a squeak of surprise. As she looked up into his eyes she blushed. "OHHHHHHHHHH HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE!" Yelled Harvey from the corner. They were lovely eyes; brown and warm. "GO FOR HIS NUTS! USE YOUR KNEE! COME ON!" And the way his body was pressed against hers even through the rubber and her clothes was... not unpleasant. "HOW LONG ARE YOU JUST GOING TO LIE THERE! WASN'T THIS MEANT TO BE TRAINING!" Her eyes became stuck on his lips. A silly idea popped into her head. It'd be dangerous but... maybe if she focused enough it'd be okay. "HEY LADYBUG IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO SMILEY!" That snapped her out of it. "Uh, ummmmmmmmm, uh I need to say goodbye to Smiley, so uh, please..." She stuttered turning an even deeper red putting her hand on his chest to try and signal that she needed to get up.

What am I doing? Why am I on top of her?! His mind now finally realized the situation he was in. "Oh. Sorry." He said and moved off of her. He helped her up onto her feet "You're pretty good. We'll have to train again some time, yeah?" He said before putting his shirt back on. Ielele and Fromus were just barely holding back a storm of laughter.

Ruby remained frozen in place as she continued to stare at Matrix who looked just as anxious as Ruby felt in the moment. The girl appeared to be struggling to say what she wanted to, but she still didn't seem as thrilled about her apology as Ruby thought she would. She shifted around a bit due to the discomfort of the situation and her nerves, but she managed to keep a calm gaze on Matrix's troubled face. After watching her continue her inner struggle, she felt even more guilty about her attitude in the kitchen. She thought that it was pretty cruel that the directors of the show would cast her at all considering her incapability of dealing any kind of social situation.
The awkward silence between the two was broken when Matrix spoke up about her first complaint about her apology. The first thing that Ruby noticed was how the woman acted younger than her even though she was almost ten years older. Though this is what made her feel so uncomfortable about the woman before, it was what made her now feel guilty after she had victimized her. She previously only considered Matrix as a creepy threat that she would have to be stuck with, but she could no longer think about her in the same way. She was a bit annoyed that she seemed like she wasn't going to accept her apology quickly, though. "Yeah, I know.. Look.." She sighed. Apologizing was hard. She wasn't sure how to make her apology sound less forced and demanding, mostly due to lack of practice. "You don't have to forgive me if you don't want, I might not actually deserve it. I just came to try to make you feel better or something." She once again began to feel a little unnerved as Matrix's eyes seemed to examine Ruby everywhere except for her eyes. As much as she now felt sorry for the woman, she really couldn't understand why anyone would have to act that way.
In the moment of silence that passed between the next part of their conversation, Ruby awkwardly scratched the back of her head and looked over at a wall. She looked back over at Matrix when she repeated what she said and watched her contemplate the sentiment. When Matrix shared what she thought about the similarity that Ruby proposed, her previously passive posture shifted a bit. She hadn't really expected the woman to take a deferential stance by claiming that Ruby chose not to be nice while she couldn't choose. The comment was a bit more biting than anything she thought would've come out from her mouth. She once again found herself fighting against urges that told her to aggressively defend herself and she instead managed to maintain composure. Still, she gritted her teeth a bit when she spoke. "Well, I'm being nice now aren't I..? You shouldn't expect everyone to act the same way you do. I can't always help what I say." She took a breath to calm herself down a bit. When Matrix said that the two were bad in their own ways, she couldn't tell if she was agreeing with her or not. When Matrix looked down at her body, she checked to see if she had something on her clothes.
Suddenly, Matrix seemed to be able to say what she wanted to in a small burst. She was taken aback by what the woman let off of her chest and the nature of what she said made her feel even more guilty. The people who she berated never stood up for themselves in such an emotional way, so she wasn't really sure how to take it. She'd never really heard herself described in such a way that made her out to clearly be such a bully before. Her face reddened from a mixture of guilt towards Matrix and anger at no one in particular. "N-no, that's not what I was doing!" She stammered. "You just.." She was about to blame Matrix for how she acted in the kitchen but stopped herself and took a deep breath. "I wasn't thinking about what I was saying." She shifted nervously.
"My..mom?" She asked, responding to Matrix's question. It was becoming clear that Matrix was more than a mommy's girl. "I mean, yeah.. She probably told me that when I was little." She puffed up a bit when she realized that Matrix was probably implying that she hadn't. "I don't rely on my mom. I rely on myself and she relies on me." She said a bit more forcefully. A sudden thought struck her and she squinted at Matrix. "Maybe your mom sent you here to help you start relying on yourself too. Maybe she thinks it'll be good for you or something."

Alice somehow maned to go even redder as she heard the Invisibles laughing although for some reason she felt vaguely disappointed when he put his shirt back on. "Yes I'd like that." She said smiling shyly at him. Harvey rolled his eyes and said. "Time to go, come on, hurry it up!" She dashed out of the room to find Smiley.
-
Quinn was sat in the lounge almost drifting off to sleep when Alice rushed in out of breath. He cracked one eye open and noticed her face was unusually red. "Are you ok Alice?" He asked concerned. "I'm fine Smiley I was just training with Music-man and... I'm fine." His eyes widened, he could read Alice like a book. "Ahhh I see Alice do you remember the tapes Giggly showed you?" Giggly had been one of the female nurses in the asylum and had earned her name because she had been most often on the receiving end of Harvey's "compliments" which she seemed to find flattering. "The ones about when... uh two people love each other very much and..." Quinn was surprised to find himself blushing a little this must be how parents felt. "Yes Smiley I remember I'm not a kid!" Said Alice sulkily. Quinn raised an eye-brow in surprise. Well maybe it'd be good for her he'd always suspected Harvey was so persistent because she lacked companionship maybe this'd finally shift that last delusion. All the same he'd message Katie to ask if she'd keep an eye on them, maybe Alex as well. "Well I suppose I can't keep you forever." He said with a sad smile. "Hug?" She replied holding out her arms. She very rarely asked for hugs only on special occasions. Carefully wrapping his arms around her he said. "You'll be alright Alice?" She nodded "I'll miss you Smiley." He let go gave her one last smile and headed back outside and then for home.
-
Alice went to her new room. All her stuff was already there. She smiled Smiley must have unpacked for her. She didn't have much just some clothes and a couple of old photos, also a teddy-bear her mum had given her when she was little. She gave it a quick hug and sprawled out on her bed still in her clothes. What a day! "Alright Ladybug we need to have a talk!" Said Harvey but Alice yawned. "Later Harvey... later." Harvey sighed. "Fine later." He snuggled in beside her as she drifted off to sleep to once again do battle with her nightmares.

Hearing Ruby's words, she felt an amalgamation of different feelings resonating from the girl in front of her; admittedly, she wasn't good at deciphering those, but still she felt the sensation that the girl was getting defensive at her words. Perhaps she'd inadvertently struck a nerve. She wasn't sure what was going on inside Ruby's head, but it wasn't as hard to distinguish as usual. She thought her strange. Everyone did, it wasn't anything new. Some of her words still caught meaning, though; causing her to narrow her eyes slightly at some of them in faint registration of Ruby's presence. Ruby's words were defensive still; she wondered how often Ruby had had to face what she was currently facing. Her Infini-powers likely gave her some leeway, but her mother surely wouldn't stand for such things. Hers wouldn't, she knew that for sure, until she came upon the subject of their mothers and her eyes narrowed once more as she took in Ruby's words, even if she didn't give much outward appearance of doing so. Her words baffled her slightly; this girl clearly hailed from a different home than she did. Most did as well, but it was difficult for her to imagine her life without the comfort her mother had provided; to live a life without it seemed quite empty. And a bit cold. She was silent for several seconds, assessing her words as she let her face fall into a blank expression as she let her arms fall to her side, for the most part unmoving except for gently clenching her left fist. "I..." she started, her voice soft and her gaze vacant, yet thoughtful. "They don't. Nobody...acts the same way I do. That's why...I expect them to know. Because I don't." she revealed, shifting slightly. "I don't...mean..." she continued, her voice trailing off into silence as she dwelled on her words. She often wondered where the line was; where everybody else should stop trying to meet her and she should simply reach forwards to try and make it work. It never ended up going well; she always did the wrong thing, or said the wrong thing, most of the time not knowing what to do at all. But the people who expected her to know often put her in that position and acted like it was her fault when it went wrong even though she didn't mean for it to. She didn't know why, but eventually, she'd stopped wondering as to the possible motives. Even her mother had simply told her to ignore such people. In the middle of her thoughts, her train of thought returned to her later comments, noting patterns in her points that she wasn't sure Ruby was aware of. "Rely on yourself." She stated back to Ruby, her voice taking on the tone of somebody who'd figured out a puzzle, but was still miles away. "Can't help it." she added on, raising her right hand slightly and lifted up her index finger to the ceiling as if she was making a point, hoping Ruby would connect the dots as well. She wasn't entirely sure, but possibly she would. "Have to rely on yourself. Feel bad otherwise." She stated again, moving her finger slightly towards Ruby before moving her finger back towards her, bending her elbow like an inverted pendulum. "I act...like I do." she noted out loud, slowly lowering her finger to place her hand back at her side. "Feel...really bad otherwise." "Mom...didn't...send me here." she announced softly after a few seconds, briskly moving onto the next topic. "Doesn't...like me to do things...I don't want to. Didn't...want to go either. Had to. Not...fun. Necessary." she revealed, moving her head sharply to look at the stylish water-speakers resting against the wall between her and Ruby, her gaze narrowing. "Mom didn't like it. I didn't. Had to be done, though. Pointless to complain about things we can't control." she uttered, her voice echoing the sentiments of her mother that she had heard quite a few times over the course of her life. It almost made her feel nostalgic on command, and the warm feeling she started to feel in her stomach indicated its effectiveness, even if by a small amount. But this was still too much. "Getting nowhere." she announced automatically, her voice steadier than usual and extremely sudden before turning her entire body and walking over to the water-speakers, ignoring Ruby's physical presence entirely as she focused her gaze on the speakers she was currently closing in on, stretching her hand out in front of her and placing her palm on top of the modern controls. "Goodbye." she spoke up once more, feeling the flesh of her palm press against the cool material of the speakers and focusing her mind, seeing the telltale green glow take over her forearm almost immediately. "Next time knock." she added, hoping that Ruby would take it into account before her vision turned green and she disappeared inside the speakers, the equipment rocking back and forth slightly with the force. Ruby would be fine in her room; she'd see that she'd left, and then she would leave too. It's what happens. But she didn't want to go back to Mom just yet; she really did want to go back to Mom, but she was supposed to try this. She had to. Maybe someone else. Someone else who was nice, after talking to somebody mean for a while. As she maneuvered through the electrical systems and into the surveillance systems however, she remembered somebody nice she could be with for the time being, until she'd calmed down. She liked being around nice people; it comforted her. They didn't have to be actively nice; that usually made her nervous, but somebody who understood. Like Mom, she thought as she scanned one room to the next before coming across Katie's room, surveying the room inside to see what was going on. She wasn't doing much; just sitting on her bed with her back against the headboard, typing away on her computer. It's what she did most of the time as well, only Katie was doing it with a strange look on her face. She looked tired. Maybe upset. Possibly hungry. She didn't really know, but Katie was nice to her, and she didn't like it when she was upset, she decided, backing out of the surveillance servers and exiting into the mansion's main system. --- Running a hand over her face in slight exasperation, Katie continued to type away at the keyboard in her room. Or her 'office', as she sometimes liked to embellish; it was much comfier than a regular office. Not as professional, but it was a trade-off that she was definitely willing to take. She wasn't a fan of all of the paperwork, though; only one interview, and it was already piling up. She really should get around to blowing off some steam at some point, but being the handlers for a bunch of Powered people wasn't exactly a cruise. She could see it now; the second she sits down to enjoy herself, one of them makes a mess that she'd probably have to either clean up or contain. But still, it didn't hurt to imagine. As she indulged herself in her thoughts though, a quiet ping from the computer monitor got her attention; looking down at the computer and furrowing her eyebrows slightly, her expression softened at the sight of an opened chat bar at the bottom right-hand corner of the monitor, with the same layout as one might see on a social media site, with a single message. //CS: Are you okay?//
"Matrix?" Katie asked out loud, her tone instantly turning soft and understanding, but also slightly on edge. "Is that you?" //CS: //She struggled to bite back a smile. //CS: You looked upset.//
Recognition went off in her head; Matrix was still in the surveillance system as well as her computer's systems; it was how she could hear her talking in lieu of her having to type out her affirmation. One thing still nagged at the back of her mind though, and as much as she loathed to bring it up to her, it still had to be said. "Chloe, I'd rather you didn't look at the files on here any more than you may have already, okay? I'd rather only I see those, if you don't mind." It may be a completely futile gesture, given that she could have reviewed all of the files before she even knew Matrix was there, but even with her shortcomings, the girl still understood the concept of acquiescing to somebody's privacy. //CS: //This time, she did break into a smile. //CS: We can talk if you want."// came the digital letters through the chat screen box, the meaning behind her words evident even if she wasn't sure of them herself. But Katie was sure of them; Matrix wasn't good at holding a conversation, but she probably made up for it by being a phenomenal listener instead. It was, in all likelihood, how she showed that she cared. "Sure, if you don't mind hearing me complaining about past and present work." Katie spoke wryly, a smirk adorning the corner of her mouth as she raised her eyebrow in amusement, her spirits already lifted despite the outcome. //CS: //

The day comes to a close and one by one, the heroes settle into their rooms and slowly fall asleep. Even Katie finds sleep easy, Matrix helped her vent out the stress the day put her through and she was grateful for it, sometimes she is so deep in her work that she forgets her own necessities.
----
Sharna is awake early, her sleep interrupted by a call from a handheld phone she keeps on her. Her costume is absent, in exchange for a tank top and pyjama shorts. Her facial expression is a mixture of anxiety and frustration. Of course, she is on the phone to the sleazy director, keeping the calls to an old tech phone so it isn't recorded on her MeChip and can keep the call private.
"I was busy okay? Don't you think I have my own problems rather than worry about your Goddamn bribe money!? I told you that I call you! Not vice versa!" She hisses in a whisper down the phone. Antonio informed her he repeatedly called on her MeChip throughout the day and late at night. Her assistant muted the calls, not wanting to distress her when she was having a great day and knowing that the thug waits at least 24 hours. The voice on the other end can't be heard, but it makes Sharna's face drain with colour. "Nonono! Wait wait!... I'm sorry I'm just... Just under a lot of pressure." her words come out in a fast panic, rattled by what must have been a threat. "I'll send it over... Y-you want more? Why!?... Because I'm being a bitch today? You know what--" She stops herself short, knowing that insulting him will make it worse on herself. "Okay okay... I'll send it over now... Don't call me again. I call you." She hangs up. She sends a quick mental command and in a flash, she has transferred his bribe over... 1,500 credits, double what she usually sends...
She throws herself back on the bed and buries her face in her pillows, feeling utterly humiliated and pathetic. Why does he have such control over her?... Of course she knows why, he has videos of her getting jackhammered by some horny, amateur frat boy wannabe. The thought of it makes her want to vomit. She can't ever allow that to get out, it will ruin her entire career and she will never be able to repair the damage. "Sweetiepie, things will look up... I'm a big believer in karma and I know that Danny DeVito's fugly cousin is gonna get the karma hammer so hard, he won't be able to feel them teeth!" Antonio says to her, trying his best to cheer her up. It awards a weak smile from under the pillows, but no words. "See, honey? Stay positive... There's always Dylan to turn that frown upside down!"
"Antonio, I appreciate what you're doing. I really do... But I just want a moment of peace." She says mentally to him. "Say no more, Sharny. Consider these lips sealed for ten minutes!" and after that, her assistant goes silent. She decides to spend her time feeling sorry for herself and mope, because what can she really do against this? She's trapped in this permanent loop of blackmail and emotional abuse. She doesn't see an end in sight anytime soon.

Alice wakes up covered in sweat her hair a mess like always from how she thrashed about in the night. Harvey's arms were wrapped around her and she could feel his breath on her cheek. "Morning ladybug how were the monsters doing?" He asked as she rolled over to face him. "They were... bigger then normal... I miss the Home! This bed is too big!" Harvey smiled and kissed her softly on the nose. "Awwwwww don't worry ladybug I'm still here, I'm always here." She giggled at his touch and hugged him tightly before getting out of bed. "I'm super-smelly Harvey I need a shower." Harvey grins "But I like your smell ladybug..." Alice takes a quick shower, much cleaner then the one in the Home, and this time no giant Japaneses squid attacked her like it had after Giggly had shown her the Home's anime collection. Rolling her eyes and ignoring Harvey's normal assortment of wolf-whistles she got dressed in clean-clothes including another psychedelic hoody with a different pattern. About the same time she'd started combat training Smiley had started training her in self-dependence, doing stuff without the nurse's help.
Finally she came to the least favorite part of her morning. She stared at the hairbrush daring it to turn into a hedgehog but it just sat there looking all innocent well she knew better! Gingerly picking it up she started to brush her hair but almost immediately she felt the hedgehog's sharp quills dig into her scalp and the blood running down her neck. "It's not real, it's not real!" she said over and over trying to ignore the pain." Harvey watched her seeming annoyed. For once she actually finished making her hair nice and smooth without any knots or straggly bits. "So you seem to be putting in a lot of effort today trying to impress someone? Mr Muscly-Music-Man perhaps?" Said Harvey sulkily. "What's wrong Harvey?" She asked him looking worried. Harvey seemed to think about saying something but just sighed. "Just be careful Ladybug people can be cruel, except me of course." Alice frowned but didn't say anything she simply wandered down to the kitchen to get breakfast.

Stirring slightly, she opened her eyes to see the comfort of her own room, PCB patterns adorning the walls and the morning light bathing her room. Blinking once to get the sleep out of her eyes, she breathed in through her nose deeply; breakfast was already primed to go, she mused as she turned her head to look at the clock on her sideboard.
07:30AM. She always wakes up at the same time like clockwork, and it sends a wave of relief through her body as she wriggles in her covers, thinking of her day so far. She'll have five minutes of lounging in bed, ten minutes to get ready, and then roughly thirty minutes to eat breakfast and watch cartoons as she prepares herself for the day. It's been her routine since she was younger, and despite the fact that it's lost some of its necessity since before recently she didn't leave the house for the most part, it still makes her feel safe. Safer than most things can. Blinking once again and rolling onto her back, staring at the ceiling, she silently thanked Katie for giving her secret blessing for her to stay with her mother like she'd requested. She still would have done it had Katie not given permission, but she would have felt much worse about it; she was glad that this way, everyone could be happy. It was great.
It was 07:45; heading down the stairs softly and deliberately, as if still wary that something was waiting to leap out at her, she reached the bottom of the stairs and headed to the kitchen to see her mother still finishing up breakfast, turning to look at her daughter with a bright smile on her face.
"Morning, honey; did you manage to sleep well?" her mother asked, her usual hint of worry seeping into her tone as she crossed the kitchen and held her daughter's face within her palms, checking her eyes to see if they appeared well-rested. Acquiescing with a sharp nod, she turned her head slightly into her mother's hands, silently relishing the attachment and the contact, drawing another smile from her mother before she reluctantly pulled away and turned around back into the kitchen, leaving her standing there stock-still in the doorway. Placing both their breakfasts onto a tray, she softly handed her daughter's tray to her, waiting until her daughter had slowly lifted her arms to silently take the tray off of her, keeping her eyes distant in front of her. Turning to get her own tray of food, Měyíng turned back around to see that her daughter had vanished into the front room, the T.V. turning on a few seconds later. Blinking a few times but pushing it away expertly due to the many, many times this had happened over the course of her life, she held fast to her tray and walked into the front room, sitting down softly next to her almost entirely unresponsive daughter as she gently coaxed her to eat with her, reminding her to actually eat the food as her eyes remained glued to the screen.
At 08:11, the two of them remained on the couch, the cartoons still playing on the screen with Chloe's eyes still fixed on the moving screen, her fingers steadily drumming a beat into her mothers thigh. After they'd both eaten, and her mother had taken their trays into the kitchen, she prepared to sit next to her daughter as she always did, holding her hand and watching cartoons with her until her daughter sank backwards into her mother's chest, leaning her head back against her mother's collarbone as her mother cuddled her with affection and gently stroked her forearm, usually. But this time, Měyíng had noticed that her daughter had requested her affection quite a bit sooner than usual, shifting her body into her mother's in what felt like some form of desperation.
"Hey." Měyíng prompted, squeezing her daughter's forearm slightly to get her attention. "Are you okay? Have you missed me that much in a day?" she asked her daughter teasingly, pressing a kiss to the top of her daughter's head.
"Place is big." her daughter spoke up softly after a few seconds of silence, her voice carrying over the cartoon voices on the screen. "People are...strange. Don't like it. Want to come home."
Her mother swallowed, extremely uneasy about the prospect of her daughter having to do anything that made her uncomfortable or scared. Which was most things, but this more than most everything else. "I know, honey. It won't be long, okay? It won't be long, and then we can come home and do anything you like, okay? Just you and me."
"Okay."
"Okay." her mother repeated the statement, pressing another kiss to the top of her daughter's head and squeezing her just a little bit tighter. Chloe had already assured her that nothing too bad had happened yet, although she could tell that she was hiding something. Something had happened, and she didn't want her mother to worry, that was the only reason she didn't tell her things. But past experience had taught her that trying to get her daughter to talk about something she didn't want to was, at times, akin to drawing blood from a stone. Instead electing to simply provide her with comfort, Měyíng glanced up at the clock on the wall: 08:14.
"Sweetie, your time's coming up, okay? You're going to have to go soon." her mother reminded her. When she got no response, she reluctantly used the remote to manually turn off the television, trying to ignore the way that her daughter stiffened beneath her ever so slightly.
Several seconds of silence passed, Měyíng relishing the comfort that her only daughter took in her. "I love you." Chloe spoke up softly, eliciting a beaming smile from her mother, tilting her head slightly to hug her daughter closer.
"I love you too, honey. Remember, any troubles, just come back home, okay? I love you so much." she repeated, squeezing her daughter tightly once more before untangling her right arm from her daughter, reaching into her pocket and pulling out her phone before softly inserting it into her daughter's slack hand, feeling Chloe's grip tighten around her phone for a few seconds. Reluctantly letting go of her daughter and scooching back slightly, Měyíng watched as her daughter's entire body started to glow green and patterns began to emerge on her skin before she disappeared inside the mobile device, which started to fall due to the grasp holding it no longer existing before Měyíng expertly caught it before it hit the ground. Sighing slightly and feeling the sudden emptiness of the house which she had gotten used to periodically over the years, she bit down her feelings and stood up from the couch, returning into the kitchen to fetch her laptop.
---
Disappearing into the Interwebs and searching for the entrance into the mansions systems, she valiantly tried to block down the voice in her head screaming at her to go back to her mother, where she would always be safe, and away from harm. But she couldn't do that right now; right now, she had to see this through, she decided as she entered the mansion servers and effortlessly infiltrated the surveillance systems. Right now, she'd take whatever came her way, or at least she'd try. She had no doubt that she wouldn't be able to handle some of it, but even though she knew she wouldn't and she felt a gigantic ball of fear and anxiety work up in her hypothetical stomach, she had to try. Mom tried, and that's how she got good at it. Mom could do everything; if she could do that, then she'd be just like Mom.
Jumping from one surveillance camera to the next in order to reach her room however, a sight caught her gaze as she was jumping, forcing her to go back several cameras to see the scene; it was Highlight, and she looked upset. Not 'she might be upset, she might be hungry, she might be bored' upset; she was crying. Or at the very least, close to tears. At least this was something that she could work with without fear of misconstruing the purpose, but she still felt a wrench in her hypothetical gut at the sight of Highlight; she had been nice to her the previous day. Highlight didn't have to be, but she was very nice. And beautiful. And she knew how to make people like her. So she didn't understand why she was sad. But it was her duty to figure it out and, if necessary, help to console her. She may not do a good job, but she could try. Mom always said trying means something at least.
Backing out of the servers slightly, she rerouted into the servers that handled the individual MeChips connected to the mansion's systems, alerting them of news or missions or whatever. The point was that they were all connected, and that was her in, she mused as she sent a message to Highlight's MeChip requesting entrance into her room since she looked upset.
She hoped Highlight and/or her MeChip would understand.

Opening his eyes Desmon looks around the room drool on his face as usual great I fell asleep in the living room. Getting up from the couch Desmon begins to do his morning stretches after a while he finishes up then walks over to an electric outlet then begins to transport to his room. Reappearing in his room Desmon begins to strip his clothes he hasn't taken a shower since yesterday in the morning he does a germ problem be he goes over it since it's part of his life that is he kinda wished he could control germs so he could be clean 24/7 but hey we all can't be lucky. Walking towards his bathroom he turns on the shower he loved to take showers but it was terrorizing when he was growing up when he accidentally used his powers lucky for Desmon he’s a walking lightning rod. Letting the hot water cling to his chiseled body Desmon begins to sing he was never a good singer but he always practice when he was in the the shower “What is ash, will be ash, from bone to bone to blood to blood, in the end all that there is ash.” He begins to sing it was a sing but he remembers the tone of it because Wraith always singed it to make him fall asleep.
Grabbing a towel from the towel rack he begins to dry off after drying off he puts the towel back on the rack. Walking back out the room Desmon walks over towards the bookshelf and grabs his old phone using his powers Desmon juices the batteries to turn the old thing back on. He looks through his old texts with Wraith even trough was a bad person she was a Mother-figure to Desmon and even what he learn about Wraith he still considers her his mentor. Then scrolls back to his pictures of him and Wraith, then scrolls over the older pictures of M.Nat and Freak then continues over to the internet to read up over the mystery over the two young heroes. Hopefully Matx or Night won’t see this “The disappearance of Millennia City’s 2nd favorite powered couple: Yes, we all knew how the two of them reach a legend stat of 95 together but what isn’t known is why they disappear and what happen to the lovers? The theories are endless some involving the Splice Circle others involve Victon and Mrs.Artillery then they are some that are down right weird. But seeing how there last sighting was in the northern parts of the Fringes there was a 6 week long for the pair the search turned up nothing but M.Nat’s Necklace and Freak’s wedding ring which are now being held in the Millennia City Hero Museum” Pic of the Necklace and the ring both of which were handmade by M.Nat who use a special grow vines that were harder than steel for the necklace strap then had a wilted black rose hanging from the vines. As for Freak’s ring it was made from his nemesis Laura who was using there powers to make a ring that held a whopping 46 million volts of electric inside the ring but was seen defeated by Freak who remade the ring into his wedding ring and engraved on the sides was his and M.Nat symbols. Closing the page Desmon drains the battery from the phone and leaves it out on his desk he just lays on his bed thinking about the past and the incoming future of his life. "What am I going to do with myself well I live up to "there" exceptions of will I just burn out?" Desmon asks the question as if he's talking to someone.

Below the covers of his bed layed Dylan, who was currently sprawled over the bed. His eyes fluttered open, due to a beam of light that had managed to creep through his closed curtains and landed directly on his face. With a moan, he tried to turn over to avoid the light, but his attempt was to no avail. He sighed, realizing that he would have to get up from his bed to close his curtain even more. He got up, rubbing his eyes to relieve his tiredness. He went over to the curtain, and pushed it to the side, hoping the sun would no longer come in, and went back to bed. Unfortunately, he say the beam of light coming in once again. 'Ugh... reeally!?!' He thought.
Sensing this was a lost cause, he decided to to just go through his morning routine. He got up once more, this time moving torwards the light switch, and flipped it on. He blinked a few times, before adjusting to the sudden change in brightness. He made his way to the bathroom, and took out his toothbrush and toothpaste. He poured a wad of toothpaste onto his brush, and began to fall into the routine. Scrub. Scrub. Scrub. Scrub. Scrub. Scrub... Wash down... Spit out. After he finished, he flashed a smile at the mirror. Sure enough, looking back at him was a smile of white teeth. In the corner of the mirror, however, he saw something else in the reflection. A woman was there, staring back at him. She was blurred, but you could just make out her black, flowing hair, and her blank expression on her face, the way it seemed as if she would never smile againDylan stood there, not responding at all, for he knew her. He knew this strange woman. She was no stranger to him.
Dylan turned off the cameras in his room, but there was no point. She was not there, and if she was, it was only for a second. He stood there, staring back at his reflection, sighing. He mumbled under his breath, saying something incoherent to someone farther away. However he knew what he said.
"I'll find you, sis. I promise. I'll... I'll find a way to get you out."
Dylan then turned around, and briskly walked torwards the shower, and began to shower himself.

Sven woke from his light slumber to a strange noise. Moving swiftly and suddenly he leapt out of bed grabbing his trench-knife and drawing filling the room with shadows using his perfect night-vision to search for what would be the now disoriented opponent. There was no one around. It had just been the creaking of someone else moving around the mansion. "You've spent too much time alone, sir." He looked at Intel annoyed, he'd bought a MeChip with minimum personality but she still sometimes came out with unasked for comments. "Your input is not required Intel." "Yes, sir." Was that sarcasm he detected in her tone? Never mind. Slippin through the shadows in the mansion he popped out in the kitchen not even acknowledging the prescence of Wonderland before grabbing one of the MREs he'd brought with him and returning to his room to eat and work.

After the incident with Alice, Darrius tried to focus on his training. He had pushed all thoughts of her aside while he did his damndest to push himself beyond his limits. It was only a little ways into the afternoon when she left. It was close to 2 A.M when he left the gym. His entire body was screaming in agony when he made his way to his room. He stepped lightly with Fromus and Ielele following close behind him. One of the stairs creaked painfully loud on his way up, he winced thinking someone may come out and check to see what that was. The air was still, moonlight slipped in from the window to illuminate the steps. It was so quiet that he could hear the breathing of those already in bed. After a few seconds and no change coming from the rooms he continued upstairs. He stepped down the hallway and listened for the room that was meant for him. It took him a few moments to find the room that no one had occupied but eventually he did. He turned the door job, stepped inside onto the carpet and closed the door, it's soft click sounded like a gunshot in the silence. He tossed his bag containing his meagre belonging onto a chair situated in the corner. The room was ornate to say the least, it was a bit uncomfortable actually to be surrounded by it. "I haven't earned this." He muttered before stripping down to his skivies and sat on the edge of the bed. He removed his necklace and ran his thumb over the rune. He smiled and quietly whispered, "I will be the hero you wanted me to be." After saying that he placed the necklace on his night stand and ducked beneath the covers. ------ Fire, it consumed everything. The cries were growing louder, clawing incessantly on his eardrums. "You're turn parasite!" Someone shouted before he felt himself be lifted and thrown into the flames. He felt the heat scorching his skin, he wanted to scream but his voice make a sound. He could smell meat cooking. ---- Darrius bolted upright in bed, his body was awash in sweat. His chest rose and fell in rapid succession, he didn't feel any heat. He turned his head from side to side, using his power to ensure that everything was alright. Only then did he sigh and begin to calm down. "Shhh, it's alright." He heard a feminine voice he knew to be Ielele say before feeling a hand resting his cheek. He left his head rest against the palm for a moment savoring the contact before he got out of bed."Was it the dream again?" She asked already knowing the answer. Darrius nodded but did not say anything else. He checked the clock and saw it was 7:39 A.M. He heard two footsteps before feeling two arms wrap around his waist and felt a chin on his shoulder. "You'll make them proud today. I know it." Darrius smiled ever so slightly, "Thanks Ielele. Now, if you'd be so kind as to let me go do my job.." He said with a chuckle. He could hear the pout in her voice, "Oh fine , if you insist." She said as she let him go. Fromus chuckled then yawned from his chair. "Oh leave him be Ielele, I swear you're becoming more like that Yonet character." He said mentioning the book that Darrius was currently reading. "Oh am I now?" She said turning to Fromus. As the two of them bickered Darrius decided to take a shower. He left the water cold to wake himself up. The touch of the water jolted him awake for sure. The drowsiness disappeared in an instant. After a brief wash he was out and drying himself off. He stepped back into the bedroom and opened up the dresser. As he got ready he had a remix of the song God's Gonna Cut You Down playing. He put on a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans. He grabbed his necklace and slipped it around his neck and walked outside. His stomach growled at him, reminding him that he had hardly anything to eat yesterday. He hurried down the stairs and into the kitchen, the house seemed in the process of waking up so he thought he'd do something nice. He had just finished cooking when Alice walked inside. "You want to try something from Italy?" He said with a smile and placed a miniature bread bowl with an egg, cheese, and bacon bits on it, on the island for her. "I used to eat this all the time."

"Hey sweetie?" Antonio says softly when his ten minutes came to an end, still respecting Sharna's request. "I got a little message thrown into my code, must be Matrix! Such a little sweetheart as well as a tech genius! Oh if she was made up of 0s and 1s, I would adopt her!" He says in his usual, eccentric self. "She's wondering if she can come in to see you?"
Sharna immediately shoots up on her bed and into a sitting position, wiping her wet eyes a few times. She doesn't want anybody to see her in this state and forgets for the moment that Matrix has the power to see through her room. She would normally decline any requests in this state, but for Matrix, she will make that exception for her. Sharna meant what she said in the interview and feels a lot of affection for her, not even doing it to fuel her media crave.
She double checks the cameras are switched off and then heads into her bathroom to inspect herself. Her eyes are slightly red, but hopefully it won't be noticed. She might as well get herself ready while Matrix is here. "Okay. She can come in now." She tells Antonio.
"Don't worry. Things are gonna be fine..." She quietly tells herself in the mirror, just as she has always done when this happens, then picks up a brush and starts wrestling her hair with it to tame the colours back into order.

"Dude its 7:30 AM and you haven't slept yet." Jenny sighs annoyed at Alex, he groggily nods as he puts his pencil down. Most of Selenia was down, all that was left was her head. "Besides Doc sent you a message, seems he's worried your 'lil sister' is growing up too fast." She states with a bored expression, with a hint of mild annoyance. "I mean I get it he's worried, but let her live her own life." She continues her rant, as Alex blankly looks around the room, all his creations except for Jeremy had returned to their respective books, it was quiet Jenny as some point stopped playing music he hadn't noticed. Something startles him as he looks over Selenia one more time, her torso begins to breath slowing expanding and compressing, he places his left hand on the wall and rest his head in her chest.
"Shhhhh not yet Selenia, you aren't finished yet." He whispers lovingly like a mother caring for a sick child he gently rubs the wall. "You don't even have a head yet silly soon I promise, then you can become real." The breathing stops as the sketch returns to normal. "That hasn't happened in a while, normally they don't move until they are first finished." He pauses blinking his eyes as he backs away and sits on his bed. "Rare, but not impossible I guess." He shrugs as he reads the message sent by Quinn. Quickly skimming the message "Take her medicine, blah blah blah. Make sure her and Darrius are ok, make sure she understands whats going on and he's not being a fuck boi uh huh." He says out loud to himself. "Jenny tell Quinn 1.Take medicine 2. Cock block Darrius." Jenny laughs as she sends the message. Alex gets dressed nothing fancy light blue jeans, a black 'Avenged Sevenfold' T-shirt, with a fresh black hoodie thrown on top, grabbing his sketch book he heads down to the kitchen as his stomach is growling and an energy drink or two sounds great right now.
Entering the kitchen he notices Darrius and Alice already are there. "Huh that's convenient I needed to talk to you guys." He says his words are slow as his tiredness fills each syllable, he shuffles over to the refrigerator opening it he grabs two 32 ounce energy drinks and sits down at the island next to Alice. He looks at her barely able to keep his eyes open, he holds up one finger telling her to wait, and he opens one of the drinks and chugs the whole thing in the matter of seconds. "Hey you take your medicine today? Old...whatcha call him? Smiley? Yeah Smiley he uh.....He wanted me to check on you." He's barely able to keep his thoughts together as he opens the second can. "That smells really good Darrius, my cooking skills suck so I made some help." A small moment of clarity comes over him, he snaps his fingers and a giant catfish apears, he was a big man six foot three at least three hundred pounds. His skin in a pale green he is dressed in a traditional chef outfit he lets out a full belly laugh his whiskers shaking with each chuckle. Cracking his knuckles and then his neck he smiles adjusting his pants. "Meet Tahm. Best cook in the world, ain't that right big guy." Tahm laughs again bowing politely to the others. "You do me a kindness sir, I ain't nothing but a simple country catfish, who learned how ta cook from my momma is all." The fish-man has a thick Cajun accent "Now what can I whip up fo ya sir?" He walks over to the kitchen grabbing all the supplies he can, he takes a big inhale and looks at Darrius. "That's a mighty fine dish you prepared there sir. Mighty fine!" He exclaims while giving him a hearty slap of approval on Darrius' shoulder. "Bacon...eggs..uh pancakes! No! French toast! No! Belgian waffle with two scoops of strawberry ice cream on top. Also change that bacon to sausage patties, and add a side of bacon." He commands while struggling to decide on his breakfast, he looks at the others. "Also if anyone else wants anything Tahm would be happy to cook, anything you can think of and he can get the ingredients for that is." Alex smiles proud of himself as he sips his drink
"Indeed Sir and Madam I'd love ta cook you anything up, I specialize in seafood," He smiles to himself as he begins cooking. "Now I know whatcha thinkin, ain't that like bein a cannibal? Well fish eat fish all the time so I think its fine by me." He laughs an infectious laugh as he keeps his work going, humming a song as he starts breaking the eggs. "Hey I'm kinda sleepy I forgot to sleep last night." Alex begins to talk to Darrius and Alice. "So don't mind me if I get a little weird, but seriously did you take your medicine? Don't lie to me I'm a great liar so I know when I'm lied to. Also hows old Harv doing? I haven't had the chance to talk to the man yet, and I'm dying to meet him." He laughs as he finishes his second drink. "Oh Darrius sorry we didn't get much time to talk yesterday, hope I didn't come off as rude running by you so quick. Buuuuut" A devilish smile crosses his face. "What happened between you two last night? I got a good sense for these things, also Smiley kinda stressed that I make sure everything's on the level, and nothing funny is happening." He reaches over to Alice and rest his hand on her head messing her hair like he did to Ruby the day before. "Now don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna bite your head off, but she's the little sister I never wanted so I have certain obligations to..." The world gets wobbely for a second he blinks a few times trying to figure out whats wrong, but all he can do is laugh like a mad man. It starts slow just a giggle, but then its a chuckle, a full blown laugh, and finally he's howling at the top of his lungs. He pulls his hand away from her head and looks at it. "AHAHAHAHAHA OH FUCK HAHAHAHAHA THIS," He yells at the top of his lungs between breaths."THIS IS GOING TO BE A FUN AHAHAHAHAHAHAH RIDE." A man appears in the room, one he's never seen before, he definitely wasn't staff or Night Terror, with process of elimination he must be Harvey. "Nice to hahahaha meet you hahahah Harv. I'm Alex." He stretches a hand out to give a firm handshake. "I'm old friends with Smiley, and new friends with Alice, the pleasures all mine....do you want some waffles?" He ask truly wondering if the man was hungry, since Alex was in such a good mood he decided to spread the love.

Smelling the food form the kitchen Desmon gets dress and grabs a black hair tie for his hair. Getting dress in some track pants an a white tank top he walks over towards his outlet and starts to transport. Reappearing in the kitchen he smells the the food cooking he stretches sightly "Smells amazing." As Desmon pulls a chair out of the island and sits on the far left of everyone. Hearing Alex yelling okay then looks like Alex isn't on his meds but Des doesn't care either way he just wants to eat something right now his stomach is practically eating away at him. Walking over towards the fridge Desmon grabs a glass of sweet tea taking a sip from the glass Desmon looks back at the glass he's surprised by the quality of the tea it was certainly better than what he you'd to drink. Sitting back down at the table Desmon tries to make some small talk "So how's everyone feeling right now?" He asks to everyone in the kitchen.

"I'd have that almost every morning before I had to start training. It was the first thing I learned to cook actually." He said with a smile thinking about all those early mornings he spent trying to make it just the way Francesca did. He noticed that her hair wasn't as wild as it was yesterday, it's been brushed. "Your hair looks good this morning." He says before turning back to the stove. The next egg was done, he placed it inside of the bread bowl, sprinkled a bit of parmesan and crushed bacon onto it. He had just plated it when Sketch walked in. He hadn't really had a chance to talk with him yet so he was hoping to make a good impression.
"Good morning, Sketch." He raised his eyebrow a bit in confusion as he was told that Sketch needed to talk to them. "Oh? What's on your mind?" He watched as the man chugged a thirty two ounce drink in a matter of seconds. Fromus:"He must be thirsty this morning." Darrius didn't say anything in response instead he listened to him talk about having help for cooking. "Well I appreciate that, but what do you mean? Did you hire someone go come by?" Initially this confused him until a giant catfish humanoid materialized in the kitchen. Darrius almost jumped back in surprise at the appearance of the creature. Trying his best to regain his composure he spoke back to the...thing.
"Ah, yes it's a pleasure to meet you as well Tahm." He said flinching at the sudden contact as he was slapped on the back. "Uh thank you. I've been practicing for years now." While he was mildly insulted that Sketch wanted someone or something else to cook for him, he's much more weirded out by the creature beside him. He steps away from the stove, his plate still in hand. "Its all yours Tahm." He moved to stand by Alice and listened to Sketch. He waved off the comment about not having time to talk yesterday."Oh don't think anything of it. It was hectic, I understand. But what do you mean? We weren't together last night. I mean, we worked out for a bit in the gym but she left after our match to go say goodbye to someone." He raised his eyebrow in slight surprise at what he said next, "Oh I had no idea you were her brother. Well since I didn't get to introduce myself to you yesterday," He walks over and extends his hand, "My name is Darrius Andramache or Crescendo if you prefer. It's a pleasure making your acquaintance." He says as they shake.
Just mere moments after he says that Sketch seems to snap. He starts laughing uncontrollably at the top of his lungs. The most concerning part is how he says that he can see Harvey. Darrius nervously glances from the crazed man to the empty space he was talking with. The moment that Desmon walks in and sits down, Darrius places the plate in front of him. "Its all yours. You guys enjoy, I'll be back in a minute." He says before calmly walking out of the room. Once the line of sight has been broken he starts running in search of Katie. "I thought we'd at least have a little time before someone snapped." He grumbled.

Alice smiled to see Darrius in the kitchen but let out a small yelp as Night-Terror appeared by one of the cupboards then instantly disappeared back into the shadows. As he placed the food in front she took a long sniff. The smell made her mouth water so with a quick "Thank you!" She dug in. The food tasted like a sunny beach with green fields behind it. She felt herself blushing and running one hand through her hair as Darrius complimented it.
As Colours came in he reminded her about her pills. "Oh right... ooops I'll take them after breakfast." She said having patted her pockets and realised they were back in her room. Harvey chuckled. "You can be such an air-head ladybug." As a giant fish appeared Alice didn't even blink she'd seen way straner things then a fish that cooked other fish. As Colours mentioned last night she wondered what he meant the only thing that had happened last night had been her snuggling with Harvey! Colours touched her out of nowhere and that last thought travelled though her scalp and up his arm. Suddenly Colours starts laughing. Oh no-no-no-no-no-no-no! He said he was her brother was he going to end up like her other brother! All of a sudden Harvey seemed to teleport from the corner to in front of Colours. "Holy shit! You can see me! Fucking A man no one's been able to see me for years! Well except my little ladybug of course." Harvey shook Colours hand. "Wow touching too! Shame you aren't a chick but I'll get over it. No food thanks I don't eat. So you're supposed to make sure Music-man doesn't do anything funny to my little Ladybug? I'm all for that man. You know last night he fell on top of her he said it was an accident but I'm 90% sure he was copping a feel." Alice rocked back and forth on her chair retreating into the meditative exercises Smiley had taught her. She barely noticed Darrius leave or Desmon enter.

At first, she wasn't sure as to Highlight's answer as to whether she would be allowed entrance into her room, following her with the camera as she disappeared into the bathroom several seconds before she received the go-ahead from Highlight's MeChip. She was grateful for that, and would have attempted a smile had she been in possession of her corporeal body. The MeChip personality of Highlight also seemed to be somewhat eccentric judging from the code as she backed out of the surveillance systems and rerouted herself to the main electrical system, travelling along until she reached Highlight's television. In the code, she wasn't able to hear the MeChip's voice; that materialised through the person's actual MeChip, but the binary code seemed to indicate that they would be rather upbeat in nature. Especially so, if she could detect it that easily, she mused as her 'vision' turned green swiftly, and she was propelled out of the television monitor, her body materialising a foot in front of the television and a few feet down on the ground, her feet thudding on the floor as they came into contact with the ground.
Taking a few steps forward as she cast her eyes around the room, bringing her hands up to rub them together in nervousness, her vacant eyes widened slightly at the sight of Highlight's room; it was already adorned slightly with her own fashion and designs, but more than that, it was immaculate. It was almost as organised and immaculate as her room at home; pretty much everything was neatly proportioned and organised in a specific pattern that didn't stick out. She felt a somewhat warm feeling of relief rise up inside her chest at the sight of it; she'd been too focused on Highlight's distress to notice it before, but now it was quite endearing to see. Her bed was still unmade, but she'd just jumped out of it to run to the bathroom, she reminded herself. But as endearing as this was, Highlight was still in the bathroom, she remembered as she turned her head and her shoulders to look at the slightly-open bathroom door where she could barely hear hair gently being brushed. It didn't take her long to brush her hair, but her hair was less maintenance than most hair, Mom said. Furrowing her eyebrows slightly, she tilted her chin up slightly.
"You...were crying." she began, speaking louder than usual in an attempt to carry her still rather soft-spoken voice into the bathroom in order for Highlight to hear her, her voice audibly wavering slightly as her nerves at diving in so boldly into a conversation took hold of her. She was never able to provide much in the way of conversation and emotional comfort, but she had often been told she was a good listener for people's problems. Admittedly, almost entirely because she never knew what to say in response and so she just kept her trap shut in case she said something wrong, but the outcome was still the same. She was going to be here for a while anyway, even if she didn't want to be. She'd like to be around nice people for as long as she could. "Do...you...wanna talk about it?"

Sharna hears a thud coming from her bedroom. She brushes a few more strokes before leaning backwards to see what the cause of sound was and sees Matrix, looking around in what she would guess is mild awe at her organised room. She can't help but chuckle with a smile. "Yeah I know, I'm a neat Freak." She says loud enough for it to travel into the other room. "I won't feel comfortable if I don't put everything into a specific order, doesn't feel like my room if you understand. People might think it's a bit weird, but it's how I like it."
She keeps brushing for a few strokes until Matrix mentions the fact Sharna was crying and if she would like to talk about it. She stops mid-stroke at the words, suddenly remembering that Matrix could easily see her in the security camera feed. She can't really deny it now, even if she wanted to, but maybe talking about it without bringing up the cause of it will help her feel better. People knowing that she was a pornographic actress will no doubt make them look at her very differently. Matrix is one of the last people she wants this to happen to. She continues a few more brushes and her hair is the way she wants it. To the length of her chin and swept to one side. She would love to grow it longer, but her speed always mutilates it into a tangled mess no matter what she tried. This length was easier to maintain and less likely to messing up. She places the brush back where it belongs and steps out of the bathroom and walks over to the bed, beginning to straighten it all out neatly again.
"Yeah. I was..." She says looking over to Matrix, a weak smile on her face. "The people in the media aren't always what they show on the TV. Don't get me wrong, I love the attention and how many people support me.. But they only see what I want them to see, what they want to see." She finishes making the bed and sits near the edge with her legs crossed, beckoning with her hand for Matrix to take a seat beside her. "I can only show them the good parts in my life because, that's what people like to see. They wanna see me happy, social and optimistic, that's how Highlight is always viewed to be." She refers her hero name as some sort of iconic character and in ways, Sharna had molded it that way. "My fans sometimes forget I'm just a girl in her mid-twenties, that can do this." She flicks her finger to create a Neon Circle in the air, smiling in an amused way. "A girl that has as much bad stuff going on in her life as any other person out there... But nobody wants to see that, do they? It puts a downer on their day. So I can only show them the good stuff and as a result, I bottle the bad stuff up and... Well, I can't ever talk to anybody about it, not even my parents or mentor." her smile falters slightly, remembering the the occurance that happened moments ago, but she recovers it quickly. "It sucks. Because it's something that I know if I start confiding people with, it changes everything. In a bad way. So all I can do is bottle it up and like this morning, it just gets too much and I... Well I get emotional, get all down and cry. Releasing all that frustration gives me a moment of relief and I can get past it until it happens again. It sounds like a sad and never-ending cycle, but how else can I go about it, huh"
Her words remain soft, trying to never getting frustrated nor upset as she speaks. She doesn't want to dump her current erratic mood onto Matrix as it wouldn't be fair and she would probably feel uncomfortable about it. But she feels and visibly looks better, venting some of it out and it feels like a small weight has been lifted from her shoulders.

Highlight's words carrying into the bedroom where she was awkwardly standing stock-still, rubbing her hands together, she felt a sense of familiarity at her reasoning; if everything wasn't perfectly organised, she felt stress and anxiety bubbling up inside her and then she got nervous and then she started to act out. It wasn't pretty, but it was what she had. The world was chaos; everybody not saying what they mean, or having various different meanings for one expression and expecting her to be able to automatically differentiate, or jumping in head-first in social situations all the time. The world was chaos and she didn't know how to handle it, but making everything organised set her at ease even though she couldn't feel at ease in the world. The world never made sense, but being immaculate made things make sense, if only on a small scale. It wasn't much, but it meant her world made more sense.
As Highlight came out of the bathroom, she followed her feet as they walked over to her bed, letting Highlight know that she was aware of the engagement that she was going to have to project, but still uneasy with fully committing like she had no doubt Highlight could do effortlessly. Making her bed, Highlight began to talk again, detailing the outlines of her bad mood before sitting down on the edge of her fully made bed, patting the space next to her. Baffled, she furrowed her eyebrows slightly, unsure as to what she actually wanted from her from patting the bed, before she recalled all of the times that her mother would do the same when she wanted to have a talk with her.
Slightly wary and gearing up to act should she have miscalculated what Highlight wanted her to do, she began to tentatively shuffle forwards after a few seconds, clenching and unclenching her fists to assuage the nervousness rising up inside her chest as she reached the space next to Highlight, awkwardly sitting down next to her. Making it an effort to establish some personal space after hearing Mom's voice inside her head reminding her, she made sure to sit a foot away from Highlight, drawing her arms and her knees together as she sat down, her back slightly hunched over as she stared at the floor. She wondered if Highlight would object to how she'd gone about her closeness, but since Highlight continued talking, she assumed that she had done it properly, this time. Some people liked more personal space than others, so leaving quite a bit seemed the logical choice every time.
She didn't talk to many people, but Mom didn't talk this much about her problems; she often explained that she didn't want to burden her, but Highlight seemed as able to recognise these things as Mom, but she elected to talk for a while. What was happening must really have been bothering her, she mused as she kept her eyes fixed on Highlight's feet, looking downwards to avoid extra anxiety. She didn't understand her situation entirely; what Highlight was upset about hinged entirely too much on her own sociability and love of the spotlight. Something she couldn't even begin to relate to, given Highlight's almost effortless command of charm and charisma as opposed to her.
But at the same time...she did understand. Mainly because she'd faced something similar all of her life. Highlight talking about her need to display the positive aspects of her powers and her personality made her remember the times when people would come to her house and demand that she turned herself in to the government in order to protect the rest of them. Highlight talking about people only seeing what they want to see reminded her of how Mom had had to call the police and ultimately move to a different state with her because one night, a mob formed outside her house, shouting that somebody like her was too dangerous to possess that type of power. If she was normal, she'd know what to do and what not to do, they shouted. But because she was the way she was, they assumed that she was stupid and dangerous and didn't possess any sort of moral compass, shouting that the risk of letting her live was too great as they pounded on the door and demanded her mother release her to the mob. She didn't remember much of that night other than hearing the enraged cries of the mob outside as her mother held her tight in her room, reassuring her that there was nothing wrong with her and she would never let her come to any harm as she cried and hyperventilated in her mother's arms.
It wasn't as if Highlight knew this, of course. She couldn't. But Highlight had gone through trials of her own to make her feel like this, she mused as Highlight finished talking and and saw her smile sadly out of the corner of her eye. Mom always said that everybody was fighting a battle that she didn't know anything of. And she always said that the people who smiled the brightest usually hurt the most. It made her uncomfortable to think of both people not acting how they felt, and other people making people not act how they felt. Both made her confused.
"Don't like the spotlight." she spoke up softly, keeping her eyes fixed on Highlight's feet as her eyebrows furrowed slightly in her usual expression of mild confusion. "Scary. Can be me on my own. With Mom." she added on, the corner of her mouth instinctually curling up into a slight smile as she imagined her mother. "Everyone...judges. Hates me...scared. Of me. Mom doesn't. Mom says...there's nothing wrong with me. I'm...who I was meant to be. Says I'm perfect." she uttered, her words soft as she imagined the countless times her mother had reassured her and explained her feelings to her when she had been confused why people treated her the way they did. She was wondering why people would treat Highlight the same; she was outgoing and confident and charming to everybody. It was difficult to imagine until she was reminded of Highlight's past, and a lightbulb went off slightly in her head. It wasn't something that she would have a problem with, but she was aware of the stigma regarding pornographic actresses. That's probably what she was worried about. She didn't need to be, but maybe she still was.
"Maybe you should be friends with people that like you enough that it wouldn't change everything in a bad way." she proposed quietly, wondering why she hadn't done that already. Being surrounded by the spotlight she could never understand, but at least people liked it. But if Highlight didn't like it, then why did she still do it? If she wanted people she could confide in, perhaps she should stop clinging to the superficial aspect of Heroing. But she didn't know the full story, anyway. "People...can be weird. Mom calls them hypocrites. They...idolise people like you. Because you're...beautiful. And...charming." she noted, raising her eyebrows slightly in contemplation. "Confused why they'd...vilify you for pornography. Why I...prefer being on my own."

Sharna feels sad for Matrix as she tells her story of her troubles in her past. She doesn't understand how people could be so cruel to somebody so innocent? In her eyes, Matrix has shown excellent control over her abilities, better than most she has seen. They think she can't, just because she isn't normal? She wants to change how people think of her. She tentatively reaches her arm out and lays a hand on her shoulder very gently, she tries to make eye contact with her and smiles pleasantly. "That's a good attitude, Chloe. You are perfect just being you. People are going to see that too, that you can control your powers as well as any of us. I'm going to help you with this, I promise you."
She continues to listen to her words of comfort. She appreciates what she's trying to do and make her feel better. Then she hears something she completely did not expect; Matrix mentions her pornography. She removes her hand from her shoulder as if she just burnt herself, her smile falls away into a look of shock and disbelief, the colour in her face is gone again. She couldn't have heard that right... Nobody knows, nobody! She feels her hand slightly shake and she grows increasingly anxious and very, very paranoid. "W-what did you say?.." She says in a whisper, trying to desperately find out if she was imagining it... No. No of course she didn't! She said it! Stop fooling yourself, Sharna!!
Sharna grabs Matrix's wrists with both hands, not aware of how tight she is holding them right now in her panic, confusion and slight anger. "How did you know that!?" She says in hushed, harsh words. "Nobody knows that! Have you been snooping on me? You have no right to do that! No Goddamn right! Why would you say things like that? What do you want from me!? You must want something if you say shit like that!" her words get faster and faster, more panicked by the second. She is breathes fast, almost hyperventilating. Everything she worked hard to hide could be exposed at any moment, she can't let that happen!

Highlight's words brought a relative degree of comfort to her when she proposed her assistance in that matter, a warm ball bubbling up inside her stomach as she started to feel relief that it was going well, at first. Even though Highlight's tentative touch made her stiffen her back ramrod-straight and she could feel her anxiety increase tenfold in the moment, fidgeting slightly as she wasn't used to touch and didn't like people touching her, this is what people did. This is what friends did, Mom always said.
But after she'd mentioned the reason why she stayed at home and attempted to console her with her comment about Highlight's pornographic past, she felt Highlight whip her hand from her shoulder almost faster than she could process, causing her to jump backwards slightly automatically. Feeling nerves ball in her chest, she started blinking, running through her head to figure out what she had done wrong. Had she said something the wrong way? Either way, this had happened before; it always happened. People would jump away from her and then they'd get angry and upset. But Highlight wouldn't do that. They were making really good headway so far; better headway than she'd ever managed before. She knew how to fix it, or at least how to try; she had to marshal her fear and make her intentions clear.
Before she could open her mouth however, Highlight leaned forwards and grabbed her wrists extremely tightly, leaning in close and demanding answers from her about something she didn't know. She didn't even hear what Highlight was saying; anxiety and terror had already completely overtaken her faculties, and all she wanted to do was run away and hide. But she couldn't; she wasn't allowed to. Highlight was holding onto her hands, and she wouldn't let go. She wouldn't let her go; she was going to keep her there and yell at her for something she knew nothing about. She was shouting and screaming and she was hurting her and she was struggling to breathe, her vision starting to tunnel as her terror only managed to increase as she desperately tried to calm herself down, starting to rock violently back and forth, shaking her head sharply and beginning to whine in fright. Closing her eyes, she desperately tried to ignore the pain shooting down her arms and the panic overtaking everything else; she couldn't even hear what Highlight was saying, but she couldn't do this. This was bad, this was dangerous. This terrified her more than anything, and she didn't know why she thought she could handle this, being friends with somebody. It was her fault for trying, but she couldn't do this. She needed to get away.
Her panicked whining reaching a loud pitch, she violently pulled her arms away with enough force to break Highlight's grip and send her crashing down onto the floor ungracefully, her hips slamming painfully into the ground. Pulling her hands up over her head as she struggled through the brain-fog on what to do, her brain wouldn't give her anything. She was trapped, terrified, hyperventilating and screaming on the floor of somebody else's room as she curled herself up and pulled her hands over her head, begging her brain to tell her to do something. It took a few seconds, but she knew what to do; it wasn't ideal, but it was there for emergencies, and this was an emergency, she thought as she frantically fished inside of her pocket for her phone with enough force to curl her body. Locking her fingers around the mobile phone and pulling it out into the open desperately, her arm already turning green as it spread to the rest of her body and she disappeared inside of the mobile device, the phone thudding to the floor and still glowing green until it tempered off, the terrified whining leaving the room and bathing it once more in silence, the phone lying on the floor in solitude.
---
Running her hand over her face in slight exasperation as she worked, Měyíng wondered just how irritating this would be if she continued. She hadn't been working on this long, but even taking her laptop into the living room hadn't done much to assuage her distaste of carrying out work. She'd worked from home for almost a decade, but it still irritated her. But she had to bear it; she wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe one day she'd manage to go back to work, but for the time being, she'd refuse every offer that came her way; she had to. If they wanted her enough, then they'd work around her. Either way, she wouldn't really trade her life all that much.
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by a loud banging upstairs, her head instantly jerking upwards to look at the ceiling in confusion and wariness. As she discerned that it sounded like something falling onto the floor upstairs, she began to hear more crashing, and upon further analysis...a deeply distressed whining, she realised. Her blood ran cold. Instantly throwing the laptop off her lap, she pulled the door open and sprinted up the stairs towards the source of the sound, her heart constricting in terror as she came to the outside of her daughter's room, the whining louder than ever. Throwing the door open without knocking, her blood froze even colder to see her daughter curled up onto the bed, the computer lying cracked on the floor as her daughter had her arms pulled over her head, hyperventilating where she lay.
"I-Měífeng?!" Měyíng questioned in horror, her eyes widening and her heart beating out of her chest as she rushed forwards onto the bed, inserting her arm under the side of her daughter's neck. "Sweetheart, it's me, it's Mom!" she soothed desperately, hoping beyond hope that she would garner a response and do something before her heart ended up literally bursting out of her chest, crying a sob of relief and confusion as her daughter darted up and wrapped her arms around her mother's midriff tighter than a vice, desperately pressing her head into her mother's chest as a cry for comfort and reassurance. Meeting her daughter instantly to wrap her right arm around her daughter, pulling her in close as her left arm raced up to cradle her daughter's head, constantly spouting soothing reassurances as she could feel her terrified daughter hyperventilate beneath her, extremely close to if not already in tears.
She didn't know what the hell was going on; she told her daughter to come home if she had any problems, but she sure as hell wasn't expecting something this awful this soon. She knew it was a fucking bad idea to send her only daughter to a place like that, especially with how she was. Well, it didn't matter now; she was back home, and as much as it broke her heart a billion times over to have to console her daughter like this when she knew how difficult she found everyday situations, she was for damn sure making sure that it never happened again. She was home, and she's protected her up until this point in her life. She'll do so again with everything she has, and she'll do it until the day she dies with as much love and affection as she had from Day One.
And if she ever comes across the person who hurt such an innocent, well-meaning girl like this, then there is going to be fucking hell to pay. She didn't care if she had to burn the entire goddamn world down.
Nobody hurt her daughter. Absolutely nobody.

Before Sharna could even react to it, Matrix jerks her arms and manages to throw herself onto the floor, she looks as if she is having a severe panic attack. Sharna suddenly snaps out of it, she lost all rational thought until moment and she has now realised what she was doing to the poor girl. Her face went from anger to a dreadful realisation that made her blood run cold. She forgets the knowledge of what Matrix knew, she needed to make sure she was okay. Her wrists had red marks where she gripped her tightly. Sharna shoots herself down from the bed and to Matrix's level, hitting her knees pretty hard but she didn't care. "Chloe? Chloe I'm so so sorry! Look just take some deep breaths okay? Just try to listen to my words and breathe deeply." She speaks very soothing, heavy guilt weighing down her words. She dare not to touch her, she feels like a complete monster... She can't help her eyes well up with tears at this sight, the sight that she caused because of her own selfish panic!
She keeps trying to calm her, not noticing the phone she fished out until her arms glow green and before Sharna could try to stop her she's gone in a flash, phone clattering to the floor. Sharna stares at it grimly, her own behaviour and how she handled this disgusted her. She didn't even know who she was just then... She had to make this right... But how? She had no idea where Matrix went, she could be anywhere in the city right now. She was making such great progress with the girl... Then she blew it up in her face like a bitch... The director was right about her today... She runs both hands through her hair and grabs two handfuls of it. She feels pulling her purple and pink strands out from her scalp, the pain from that won't be enough to make up for what she did. However, there is something she can do...
She throws on a casual hoodie, jeans and sneakers before pocketing the phone and heading out of her room, locking it. Keeping the hood over her head, mostly out of shame that the others won't even realise is there and she doesn't feel like talking to anybody right now. She arrives at Matrix's door and tries the handle, locked. She softly curses to herself at her shit luck today but comes up with another idea. She pulls out a piece of paper and a pen she stuffed into her pocket as well as she left the room. She presses the paper against the door amd begins writing, her handwriting is still elegant even when stressed.
Chloe. What I did back there was completely out of order. I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am.. I don't expect you to forgive me, I don't even think I can forgive myself... I feel ashamed, but you shouldn't. What happened back there was entirely my fault, none of yours. I could have handled that very simply, but I didn't.
I hope this hasn't ruined our friendship, you really are something special and pushing that incident aside, you really did make me feel better for a moment, better than what most have tried in the past. But if I have ruined it, I understand why you won't want to speak to me.
I hope we can talk. Sharna.
She folds the paper three times and creates a small Neon heart on the blank space of the folded paper. She places the phone on top of the paper and slides them both under the crack of the door, thankful that the phone is thin enough to fit through. She leans her back against the door again, still sitting down. Bringing her knees up to her chest, she lays her forehead on her kneecaps and looking down. She sighs sadly. It's the worst day she has felt in months, and it's only morning... She is right now, her own worst hater and mentally beats herself into oblivion, very visibly depressed.

Dylan stepped out of the shower, soaking wet. He picked up the towel and began to dry himself off. He looked back at the mirror, half-expecting his sister to appear once more. Of course, she was not there.
Throughout his childhood, he and his twin sister, Eve, were always close. They went to the same schools, had the same favorite foods, and always shared each other's secrets... at least he thought so. One day, she disappeared. Vanished without a trace. It was the day his powers firt awakened. That was the reason he tried not to think too much of that memory, as it was the day he felt truly alone. He had other friends, but many looked at him in disdain after he wrecked the neighborhood. He expected Eve to be here, to comfort him in his time of need. However, she was not there.
His family sent search parties full of ople they trusted and didn't resent him, but she was nowhere to be found. He could still remember her, and how she seemed to always smile. He could never see that smile again...
However, one night he was sleeping, and he saw her. He saw her coming out of some kind of rip in the air. She walked up to him with a blank look onher face, and simply watched him with a slight smile on her lips. The next morning she was gone, and Dylan desperately tried to find her, hoping that he could find that rip once more. Unfortunately his efforts brought no answers.
As he now worked to put on his clothes, frown fell on his face when he remembered all the days he spent searching for her. His parents had long since lost hope that Eve was alive, but Dylan knew her. She couldn't have just died! She was stronger than that! Maybe she had some kind of power yo create portals... or... or.... wormholes!
Dylan pushed the thought aside as he focused on putting on his clothes. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a plaid shirt. He glanced over at the mirror one last time before preparing to go outside. As he stepped outside, he noticed Sharna sitting back on Matrix's door, clearly depressed. He walked over to her and sat down next to her. "What's wrong?" He said to her, genuinely conserned for her, throwing a smile at her way too to make her feel better. He wanted to help however he could.

Darrius bounded down the hallway past the stairs. He remembered hearing that the staff offices/rooms were on the first floor. It had something to do with not mixing footage of the help and the heroes too much. This held very little importance to him at the moment, as thoughts of what might be happening to Sketch ran through his mind. If what Alice told him was true it could mean that Sketch is in need of immediate medical attention. He turned sharply and nearly collided with a maid. He came up short and asked her, "Where's Katie's office?" He asked, his tone demanded urgency. The maid, stupified and scared, pointed down the hallway at the door at the end.
"Thanks." He said as he rushed past her towards the room. He turned the knob and threw open the door. "Ma'am you may want to come see this. We got a problem with Sketch, he touched Alice."

"Right cause you aren't real." Sketch comments at Harvey, as they shake hands. "Do you moisturize your hands are soft." He adds as he pulls his hand back, with a smile. Out of the corner of the room he spies Alice freaking out in her chair. "TAHM YOUR APRON NOW!" He yells at his cook as he jumps from his chair, without saying a word the apron is thrown over the island passing through Harvey's body. In one motion Alex catches the apron and wraps it around Alice, making extra sure the outside of the apron was on his side, so she didn't get any of the stains on her. He forms a hood over her head, as he interlocks his fingers with hers. The apron with addition to her gloves form a protective barrier, he presses his lips against the side of her head careful to make sure the apron protected him, he leaves a light kiss and begins speaking calmly. "Every thing is ok Alice, I'm fine, I'm not going to be taken anywhere I promise." He rest his chin on her shoulder as he pulls her into a hug while there fingers are still entwined.
"Crash get me my black leather gloves please." He calls out, but there is no response. "Crash?" He ask again, something is wrong he's never not been able to summon a painting before. "Tahm black gloves now!" He yells at Tahm, turning his head back to Alice he rest his temple on hers. "Just focus on my voice, I promise everything will be ok. I may be new to this brother thing, but I'm not failing on my first day." He laughs trying to make Alice feel better. Looking up he spots Tahm hustling out the kitchen as fast as his fat legs will carry him. "Look at him waddle." Alex laughs hoping to cheer Alice up with the sight of this overweight fish trying his best to hustle.
Giving Alice another peck on the cheek this time, he keeps his hug tight searching for any sign of her wanting him to release. "If I'm too clingy let me know ok, I don't want to come off as a creep alright...Ladybug." He uses Harvey's nickname for her mockingly as he looks to where Harvey was he is no longer there. Except for Livewire no one is in the kitchen. "See I can't even see Harvey anymore I'm ok, it takes more than a little head scratch to put me down." He says reassuring keeping his winning smile on, he's never felt this way for someone before. At that moment he made a decision to never let her be sad again, and God help anyone who caused it.
(Meanwhile)
"God dangit why there gotta be so many stairs fo." The catfish is tired huffing and puffing for breath, "Aw drat, blast it." He curses repeatedly realizing he has no idea where he is. Looking around he notices a man and woman talking in the hall, it was Orbit and Highlight though Tahm doesn't know that he's never met them. "Ex...excuse me Sir and Ma'am." He says completely lost of breath he leans over holding himself up with a hand on the wall. "My...my name is Tahm and I's lookin fer Mr. Tricamo's room. There seems to be an issue with him and Miss Alice, and he requires his leather gloves." The plump chef gives up and collapses on the floor. "I's unsure where his room is, in fact I come to realize this ain't his house." Still breathing hard, he recovers a bit and continues talking. "If your kind enuff could you point me in the right direction?" He smiles as he pulls himself up, "Curse whoevr decided it was a good idea fo so many stairs." He lets out a hardy belly laugh doing his best Santa impression.
