Cassidy took the piece of paper carefully, eyeing the information on it, before tucking it away neatly into her backpack. “Thanks,” She said politely, pocketing her phone again now that she didn’t need it for this. Probably for the best. She caught him moving to grab something from his bag and finally taking notice of the mess on his shirt. A little late for that wasn’t it? “I’m sure,” she chimed in a politely friendly way as he denied always being like that. If he hadn’t noticed until now that he was still covered in sauce then she doubted she could believe that. Still she smiled in a polite, but charming way as he continued to explain about the address again. He looked like he wanted to run away with his tail between his legs. It would almost be cute if it wasn’t so sad.
Noticing another girl approaching, Cassidy shifted her gaze to the new girl, laughing genuinely as she took a jab at her friend. Her hair and make-up were nice and orderly, even if the latter were a little thicker than normal it wasn’t unusual. “Good to know,” she replied, smiling at the girl as she joined them. She seemed like far better company already, tilting her gaze slightly as pizza boy started speaking again she listened as he did some basic introductions, rolling her eyes more openly at the jokes before turning her attention back to Enola now that Warren was more interested in his phone. “You’re name sounds so pretty. Do you know what it means?” Cassidy asked sweetly. She meant what she said, but she was trying to use it more as a conversation opener, that and she wanted to buy herself a few seconds to spy if Enola had her nails done or not. Cass’s nails were a nice shade of ‘mojito madness’-green for now, but after the full moon they’d be ruined and she needed to figure out where a good nail place was to get them fixed afterwards. Besides she wanted to know what shades the girls around here wore. Hopefully not anything too dull, like wearing different shades of pink all year round or something. That would get so boring so fast.

It didn't take her long at all until she was properly set up; simple connection of her laptop to the system was all she needed. Until the lecture started, she could relax; especially since the students seemed to be piling in. She understood the type of general demographic that high-level University Mathematics often drew, but sometimes the examples were supremely cliche; a kid whom hadn't washed his hair in weeks, another that looked like he was going to have a panic attack the second anybody spoke to him; the stench of uncleanliness and fear, respectively, crashed over her like a wave. Hundreds of years had fine-tuned her already superior senses to a degree far higher than even she had expected; it took a great deal of her willpower to not immediately retch from the smell. But again, she'd had hundreds of years; she'd long since perfected the art of imperturbability in every situation. As more students started to file in, she lazily made the effort to sit down in her chair and prop her feet up onto the desk and let her book fall open once more; she'd lost count of how many times she'd read it, she could probably recite every single word flawlessly by now. But if there was one thing that she'd learned over the years, it was that it always did well to keep up appearances. Especially one like hers.
Over time, more students came in; students of all shapes and sizes...and races, it seemed. It was unfortunate for her, but it seemed that the powers that be would not allow her at least one class on a Monday without having to suffer the revolting miasma of wet dog all the way through it, judging from the way that such a smell casually sauntered into her classroom. Carefully keeping her gaze impassive and fixed on her book, she nevertheless watched the overgrown dog like a hawk out of the corner of her eye as she sat down. Quite exquisitely beautiful, but very airy-fairy, and extremely focused on her phone, it seemed. It didn't matter, regardless; such a creature was ultimately beneath her concern, but it never did well to allow potential threats to go unmonitored. Plus, she was her lecturer, after all; she had to take some interest in her well-being.
The arrival of more students thankfully allowed her to distract herself for a moment, until she could make out more wet dog smell coming her way from down the hall. Barely restraining herself from cringing in disgust, she allowed herself to lazily turn the pages of her book as the second dog came through the doors; a male this time, and accompanied by another. She wasn't particularly enthused about the arrival of a new mutt in her class, especially when the second mutt bounded over to bark at the first mutt that had arrived, but the girl that he had arrived with had a rather unique scent, that was to be sure. It wasn't one that she had encountered very often, which was a first, but it wasn't one with which she was unfamiliar; just one look at this girl was enough. She was undead; not like her, but properly undead. Zombified. Now, that was interesting, for sure; she hadn't encountered many undead, and most of the ones she had came across were rather shy. It seemed like this one was no exception for now, but it still did well to keep tabs. With the arrival of a wendigo in her class, she fought the urge to raise an eyebrow in amusement; it seemed that she was being imbued with a positive motley crew this year, an assortment of all races sitting in her class. This year was going to be far more interesting than she had originally thought.
Allowing them to talk for a while as the clock counted down, she kept herself focused on her book for outward appearances, keeping one eye on the clock at the same time. Right as the female mutt seemed to ask the wendigo an innocuous question, the clock reached the hour dead on. Once again shutting her book with a loud slam, she heard the violent sound reverberate around the hall, noting many of the students jumping almost out of their skin in alarm and stunning the entire hall into silence instantaneously. Swiftly taking her feet off of the desk and planting them on the floor as she drew herself up to her full height, placing the book onto the desk, she once again morphed her face into one of effortless charm, turning on the genuine friendliness the way she always did as she looked around the room.
"Welcome to Advanced Mathematics!" she announced to the room with an affable tone, her eyes bright as she noted the routine actions of most of the students instantly relaxing under her cheery demeanour, already seeing relieved smiles being returned to her. "Now," she began, her voice calm and stable, yet demanding their uncompromising attention. "First class of the year...how's everybody doing? Good?" she asked with an expectant smile, patiently waiting for several answers to return her way before her beaming expression returned. "Good! I'm glad; especially since we're here already. As you may well know, advanced math is definitely not for the faint of heart, so the mere fact that you're here means that each and every one of you is a pretty smart cookie. Smart enough, I'm sure, to pass this year with flying colours. Especially if you apply yourself, which I'm very much hopeful that all of you will do. You do that, you can get wherever you want to go, and you can do it looking even better than me." she quipped with a sly grin, hearing several chuckles return her way as she accompanied them with a good-natured grin. "Now, since it's the advanced class, I'm not going to check if any of you have carried out the recommended reading; you should know to have done that already, if you're in this position, and if you haven't, then I'm not really sure what you hope to expect from a course like this. But, it is as it is with all things; you put in the work, and you can fly high. Regardless of who or what holds you back." she continued with sincerity. It always did well to reassure some of them in this early stage with their motivation; some of them had less than stellar confidence in who they were, or their capabilities. The undead girl came to mind, but it extended to each and every one of them, in the strictest sense. Including the mutts. She was their teacher, after all; she would be remiss in her duties if she neglected to help them become the best they could be.
"Now, before we start with the beginning material, most of you will already know some of the introductories, but there's some pertinent information that you must know." she began, resuming the PowerPoint presentation and moving the slides onward, revealing the beginning information that she had revealed to the Introductory class earlier. It was rather tedious, that she had to admit, but it was certainly necessary. And despite what any of the students thought of her, she would not neglect her duties. Not ever. Lucky for them.
"First off: timetables." she started with a bubbly grin, the playful slyness of her smile shining through as she addressed the hall of students. Once more unto the breach, it seemed. She was always a fan of the cliches.

Mallory feels something hit her back lightly as she was waiting for the lecture to begin. She frowns slightly, not expecting to be harassed in an actual class. She turns to see the thrower to be Warren, which confuses her even further. He was nice to her.. Why did do something like that? Is he the type to annoy others in a friendly way or is he trying to show off for the girl he is talking to? She looks down to see what hit her in the back. A paper airplane, but it looks like something is written inside. Hesitantly, she picks it up where it landed and opens it up to read. It's his number, also the mentioning that they're friends. It turned out what she thought was him suddenly becoming mean was actually a nice gesture, which earns a soft smile she couldn't stop curling on her lips. She places the piece of paper in her bag and will add the number in her phone after class.
She visibly jumps when Dr. Whitlock slams her book closed. She feels anxious that people are suddenly looking at her because she was so easily frightened, but a quick glance of the classroom shows that everyone is now paying attention to the professor instead. She pays close attention to her words as she speaks, Mallory isn't worried about the recommended reading because she has read it many times over, trying to memorise every little detail. Although her confidence has been knocked back considerably, she is still taking her classes and studying very seriously. Her Aunt and Mother want her to be the best she can, Mallory won't let them down.
For reasons unknown to her, the professor's introductory monologue fills Mallory with some hope that this class will go well. Usually, she just stays in her quiet little bubble and does what is needed to pass. Dr. Whitlock's words make Mallory want to not only pass, but to excel in advanced maths, a slither of confidence in herself begins to form because in some sense she is right, all she needs to do is put in the work that is expected of her. She shifts in her seat and straightens her posture a little, the change in her is very slight, but she feels a little better about this class already.

Whitlock slams the book alerting Warren to the start of class, he looked at her impassively, though in the inside he was groaning. "Great she's going to be one of those teachers." He thinks to himself as he turns the page on his notebook to a fresh sheet of paper. "If she's professional then I will be too." He reassures himself against his better judgment. Alpha Kline had always stressed the importance of getting along with other monsters, even their long standing rivals. That doesn't mean to take abuse from them but to treat them like people.
As a few of the students chuckle at her joke Warren has to hold himself back from rolling his eyes. He'd seen many sycophants in his day and he knew that many of them will try to do that with the 'young' math teacher. Though this was none of his concern, let them kiss her ass if they think it will help their grades. Life is a competition and Warren was the best, all these other students were going to have to use everything to their advantage to keep up with him anyway. A cocky grin falls over his face as he is already ignoring the speech going on.
A quick scan of the room and he eliminates most if not all the humans as threats, Mallory was planing on being a doctor so she has to be smart, there was a challenge. Warren already knew how smart Enola was, though she would beat him in a few academic areas math was the only one he felt superior. Not to take anything away from her. Enola was intelligent he has been in so many classes with her he knew what she could do.
Up next was the new girl. Warren doesn't look at her mostly out of embarrassment, but he doesn't want to be a creeper or get caught by the teacher. She was a wildcard he knew nothing about her but her name and that she was hot and wealthy. Judging by their short interaction he decided she was probably some rich bitch who was mad she had to slum it with 'us back water wolves'.
Werewolves are naturally competitive going back to the old days when packs would fight for hunting grounds. Now the games have changed but the fierceness of play hasn't. Though deterred from his failure with Cass earlier, he refocused himself mentally psyching himself up. If she wants to be a snob let her, he will win her over like he always does. After all everyone loves Warren even the people that hate him love him.
As the vamp finally stops bloviating, and begins her presentation he begins taking notes. "Finally that thing realized this class isn't about her, and his actually covering the material." A sigh of relief escapes his lips as he looks at the teacher solely focused on her. Nothing gets by a wolf this focused she should be honored Warren is trying so hard, not many people are worth this amount of concentration, bit he wanted to establish to the teacher, himself, but most importantly the rest of the class that he was by and far better than all of the students...."Unless a goblin snuck in and he didn't notice which really shouldn't count anyway." He joked to himself as he began following the lesson.

Enola gave a sideways glare at Warren when he made his comeback, but the smirk on her face showed that she was unfazed. Warren was obviously fighting a losing battle by trying to impress the other girl, so she was pretty sure her first impression with her was still in tact. She laughed at the second part of his rebuttal. "Yeah, I've been trying to save you from making too much of an ass of yourself. Unfortunately, I've consistently been too late." The amusing conversation was proving effective in taking her mind off of the day's stress, so her smile became a bit more genuine. What could be funnier than watching a desperate Warren? She was also pleased to notice that the other girl seemed to be taking her side already. Overall, the conversation was so far a pretty big success. She flashed the most charming smile she could muster in her tired state at Cassidy when she seemed to appreciate her company at least more than Warren's. She decided to give Warren time to recover by hiding into his phone, so she turned her full attention to the new company.
Enola's smile grew wider when Cassidy complimented her name, as her heavy makeup failed to conceal a slight blush. She wasn't feeling shy, and she couldn't remember the last time she had, but it seemed like high praise from someone like her. "Oh, my name? People do often ask, so I've had to look it up. Apparently, it means solitude." So far, Cassidy seemed to have some things in common with her other friends. While they make desperate attempts at style and charm, though, she seemed to be the real deal. Part of her wondered if Cassidy will take her own position at the school if she continues to drift further into isolation. At this point, that would probably come in handy. Curiously, Cassidy seemed to be subtly trying to look at her hands. This made her feel slightly paranoid. She casually looked down at her hands beneath the desk, looking for anything peculiar. She took a moment to think of anything wendigo-ish that related to hands, but waved the paranoia from her mind when she couldn't really think of anything and saw that her hands seemed fine. An instinctive glance at Cassidy's hands made her notice her nails, which appeared to have been given a lot of care. It seemed likely then that the girl was actually trying to gauge her own sense of style, something that commonly occurred between most of her company. Relieved, she made sure not to be too obvious about it but moved her arms into a comfortable position onto the desk. Her circumstances had caused her to go longer than usual without her usual nail maintenance, but she was still confident that they looked well done. Unlike vibrant color on Cassidy's own nails, Enola's were painted a more subdued nude tone. Still, she respected the boldness of the other girl's choice.
"You're new around here, right? If you wanna hang out after class, I could show you a restaurant or shop or something that I recommend. You should know that I only give the best places my business, so that's a pretty good deal for you." She smirked. Not hunting down Anaba after class wasn't an option, but she still felt that she wanted to continue getting to know Cassidy. She felt that she could hold off the hunger for a little while longer, anyway. The loud snap of the teacher's book caused her to wince slightly and stopped her from getting her answer. She glared at the teacher for a moment and rolled her eyes at her for interrupting the conversation. The silence that spread across the classroom kept their conversation from possibly resuming, so she turned over to Cassidy and shrugged. She silently mouthed "later", before smiling and turning back around to focus on the lecture. She was surprisingly attentive to it despite everything else that had been happening lately.

Cass smiled as Enola continued to talk to her, happy for the equally warm reception. Not that she was worried, but it’s always nice when things go the way they’re supposed to. “Solitude? That’s surprising,” Cassidy responded with interest, she wasn’t sure what was surprising to her, but whatever it was it was surprising. Maybe that such a pretty word was being used to describe solitude? Probably. Still Cassidy continued to eye Enola, really picking out some of the smaller details more out of curiosity than anything else. Enola had noticed her looking at her hands it seemed and was shifting so they could be seen by Cass. She smiled a bit wider seeing them. Painted and groomed, but looked like they could use a touch up soon. That worked perfectly for her. They were a bit dull with a nude color, and Cass really hoped that wasn’t the norm. The color looked fine for Enola, but Cass wasn’t going to be caught dead with nude nails. She hadn’t thought she’d see a color she’d hate to wear more than a pink, but she definitely had. Maybe she’ll try and convince Enola to wear a light pink or something subtle, but a little more interesting. It would be a fun pet project to see if she could get her to change.
Cassidy’s light up at the offer to go look around the shops. Finally. She’d been dying to get a feel for this town’s style and who better than someone who grew up there? And if Enola was good about nail maintenance then she’d probably know a good salon or two, which was definitely a major priority on her list of things to do before the full moon. Before Cassidy could respond the loud thump of a book snapping shut pulled her attention to the front to the room. A few of the humans around her jumped, but Cass held her ground instead just snapped her eyes up for a moment to see what the teacher was doing. She wouldn’t flinch the like the humans, she was better than that. Noticing Enola turn back to for a moment, Cass nodded at the mouthed ‘later’ and instead focused on the Vampire at the front of the room.
Despite the abrupt start to class, Cass was ready and attentive. It didn’t stop her from rolling her eyes at the little pep talk though. If someone in the class needed a pep talk before they had even started, then they probably didn’t belong in this class. Cass let her eyes wander slightly during the pep talk to gauge the competition in the rows ahead of her, but after seeing the first few relieved shoulder droops, she stopped bothering. Weak competition was boring. Cass slide her eyes over to Enola again. She was attentive and focused, might be a good study buddy at least. Maybe Enola would be able to keep up with her to keep it interesting. At the very least she hoped the werewolf next to her wasn’t a flunky, she wasn’t about to tutor him through this class. Finished eyeing the room, Cass tuned back into the lecture as the class started for real, not letting her attention stray for even a moment as she listened and took down notes.

Darcy had to admit that this hour went by rather slower than the previous lecture; various reasons were always the cause for that. There was the regular influx of adoring students looking her way as she discussed advanced mathematical concepts, and the regular influx of monsters that seemed to barely conceal their own feelings about her being there. The smell of wet dog always managed to draw her attention to the students in question in that area, but the rest of them had their own opinions about her; some good, some bad. And that was okay, even if she could almost feel the looks from the mutts boring into her skin when they thought that she wasn't looking. She utilised her usual approach for the lecture, since it was one of the first of the year; interacting with the students a healthy amount to combat her simply talking at them for an hour did well to keep them engaged. Her usual method of snapping the book shut at the beginning of the lecture still managed to serve as the last piece of entertainment that she would likely get for an hour before she could leave, but she enjoyed keeping an eye on the reaction of her fellow monsters; the mutts seemed to roll their eyes at practically everything she did after the fact all the way through the lecture alongside almost making her retch with the stench that they brought to the hall, but that was their prerogative, of course; even if she consistently fought the urge to shake her head in a patronising manner. She wouldn't force them to pay attention; if they wanted to succeed, then they would. If they refused to pay attention because of the childish, petty race discrimination within their respective species and failed the class because of it? It meant they didn't have to bark at her anymore. Which she wouldn't criticise.
"And with that..." she announced after engaging with a student on some of the finer points, her tone drawling with affable confidence. "I think I'm going to leave it there; there's only a few minutes left, and we won't be able to go over much else in depth for two minutes." she continued, raising her voice to accommodate the inevitable movement of the students as they stood up and shoved things into their bags, getting ready to leave. "If there's any questions about anything at all, then I'll be here for about ten minutes. Anything after that, you all know my office hours; come swing by if you need anything. Have a great rest of the day; go nuts." she finished as she returned to her seat and picked up her book as the students began to head for the exits, propping her feet up onto the desk once more and projecting her usual air of calm confidence as she patiently awaiting any students to come and ask her any questions that they may have and, barring that, her blissful silence before she could go off and finish up some loose ends with the most splendid partner of all; herself, and nobody else. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't keeping a clandestine eye out for the monsters, after all; she had something of a bet with herself to see which one of the mutts would fall over themselves the most trying to get away from her fine, vampiric self. The other monsters were a bit of a wild card, but her initial impressions were usually right. She hadn't survived this long without them. Either way, her work was done for the day; it was just a matter of time and effort before the truly fun activities began.

Mallory pays very close attention to the lecture. This stuff is all too important for her way into medical school, no way can she lose focus. By the end of the lecture, she has made a great many notes from her professor. Most of this she knows already while that she didn't, she understands very well. Unlike most of her fellow students, she doesn't have any friends to go hang around with nor any places to hang out. So when she isn't working or doing chores, all time is spent studying as hard as she can. She always had a bright mind and taking in all the information she can.
Satisfied with her progress, Mallory quietly returns her notes into her bag and feeling a little nervous with her neighbouring students getting a little loud and a tad bit rowdy as they hurriedly get their stuff and ready to leave. Even though her things are already packed away, she waits until those students have walked a few feet away from her before getting up herself, content that she has some distance. Throwing her hood over her head, she makes her way out the room. She considers speaking to Dr. Whitlock about the material and ask questions. However, once spotting how many others come over to her professor, she reluctantly decides against it.
While most students have finished for the day, Mallory has an evening class in Neuroscience. This means she will be leaving the campus very late. She doesn't mind this, not many people are around this late and the streets are empty by the time she leaves. It makes her feel content. She leaves the room and heads to her next lecture, hopefully nobody will stop her this time.

As class ends Warren closes his note book and puts his things away. He looks over at Cass and nods his head, with a polite smile he stands up throwing his bag over his shoulder. "I got practice, so I'll see you guys around." He says to the girls as he gets up to leave walking passed Enola before leaving he extends his hand and flicks her in the back of the head as hard as he can with his middle finger. "Don't bad mouth too much to the new girl Enola." He smiles at her as he walks down the aisle, he makes eye contact with the teacher, he smiles and nods at her. "Have a good evening Dr. Whitlock." He adds a wave and exists the class. Practice goes by easily Warren makes sure to throw a few unnecessarily hard checks Joey's way as payback for the pizza incident. He hits the showers after practice then jogs to the mechanic. It seems closed but he swears someone is still there, following the directions he was given he goes in through the back door. The smell of oil and grease overloads his senses for a moment, but his body filters out the unneeded scents, until a familiar one fills his nostrils with a small growl he yells into the shop. "Of fucking course you're what he meant when he said the 'night girl' would be here." He approaches his truck while Franky seems to be finishing up working on his truck.

As soon as Frankie got to work, her boss gave her something to work on almost immediately. She is used to this, he always has a car or two ready for her to work on during the night. Over the time working here, she quickly gained their trust to work unsupervised at night thanks to knowing what she's doing in any repair and using a little bit or charm to draw in the approval and for some, admiration, of her co-workers. The truck she's given only has a simple problem which requires a simple solution: the brakes are utterly fucked so she needs to replace their lines. Other than that, she has no other work to be done so she decides to take her time on this one.
Time passes quickly while working and soon, all the remaining staff call it a day and say their goodbyes to one another as they leave for home, Frankie is the only person left in the garage. She leaves the backdoor open for the customer to come in and collect their truck. She decides to take this opportunity of solitude to remove her contact lenses and her eyes now show their natural red, almost shining like rubies in the dim light, she always found them annoying and tedious to keep in all the time and decides to only put them back in when the customer arrives. As the sun falls, Frankie begins to feel more vigorated and her full strength and energy that was suppressed by the light rays during the day have returned. She smiles to herself at the familiar and pleasant feeling, she heard vampires always feel that in different ways but all are posotive sensations. For her, it is like a heavy burden is lifted from her shoulders and her body almost feels so light she float. She yearns for a day where she wouldn't have to have the burden return onto her every morning. It's cliché that a vampire's main weakness is the sunlight. Sure, she won't burst into ash when outside but it is still an inconvenience, she hates feeling so powerless during the day... Perhaps there will be some way to overcome that... It's very wishful thinking and perhaps too unrealistic to ever happen, but a girl can dream after all.
While she is under the truck to fit the last of the brake lines, she hears the back door open. Hm, they're early Frankie thinks to herself. No matter she guesses, she is almost finished now. Her senses are still in training due to being a young vampire, which is why she cannot smell Warren's faint scent over the grease and oil. If anything, she hears him first. Yelling like something has pissed him off, probably her very presence. She can't help but smirk, the pup is so very easy to antagonise, she didn't even need to do anything this time... She's gonna have some fun toying with him for a bit.
She pushes herself on the wheel board she is laying on and out from underneath the truck, flashing a shit eating grin towards his agitated expression as she gets to her feet. "I thought something smelled a bit off with this truck, now I know what; smells of canine." she says mockingly. Her outfit differs from the last time they saw one another, she now wears old but figure fitting jeans with work boots and a white tank top that is now stained with grease, brake fluid and oil. Her arms and cheeks have black smudges but she it doesn't bother her at all, used to getting dirty when working. Her red hair is a little frazzled, not unlike how hair gets when waking up with 'bed head'. Vampires pride themselves with their pristine look while Frankie couldn't give two shits, the wild and mucky look is common for her.
"Now that's no way to speak to the woman who fixed up your brakes, is it?" She adds, wiggling a finger in front of him and her other hand resting on her hip, as if she is telling off a small child for having an attitude towards an adult.
