Alrighty. Rebel Galaxy was an interesting idea if ambitious. Wondering if we could re-do it in the same lore, different goals.
Willing to hear all ideas for anything. Goals, species, planets, adventures, factions etc.

Did we have a discussion thread for the old one? I don't remember too much of the lore and stuff we talked about.

Gave it a good skim, maybe post the races and junk here so it's more contained. Lets keep the same captain/AI so that's done. Unless someone wants to play captain this time.

Races
Klieku: light blue skinned, white haired humanoids that are almost identical to humans, save the skin colour and cloudy grey eyes with no pupils visible. Thin, nimble limbs, naturally acrobatic and strangely charming. Specialise in infiltration, diplomacy and sabotage but not very well equipped for direct combat. Allied close with humans and the most common species in Tethran II behind Exos.
Shra'kahn: tall, muscular, green skinned humanoids with black markings on the face and torso that are evolved for warfare. Fingertips end in claws and teeth are razor sharp. Born into a violent history of war and battle, the Shra'kahn are deadly opponents in a fight, especially close combat. They are arguably the best fighter pilots out there, but do not understand politics, diplomacy or even socialising. They prefer to fight their way out of a situation as they find talking it out annoying and boring.
Wulfrigerd or 'Wulf folk': Massive, 8 feet tall creatures covered in a thick pelt of fur and have the head similar to that of a Wolf. They do not talk much if at all, their kind communicate in a strange sign language only they understand. Their thick pelt and dense bone structure make them tanks in a fight and highly defensive, they are great for heavy lifting and high labour work on a ship. Not very intelligent and usually have to be told what to do all the time, mostly used by the Shra'kahn as a companion or 'minion'. Very gentle despite their large and intimidating appearance.
Exo: small, fleshy brain-like beings inside metal bodies (imagine the geth from mass effect for appearance of their metal bodies.) superior intelligence of any known species and created many of the spaceships used today, as well as the subsystems mandatory for their use. Very tech savvy, quick thinkers and repair systems like no other. Almost all of their kind are pacifists and stay well away from the combat side of things and their metal bodies are quite fragile against the stronger variants of aliens. Though rare, some Exo are equipped for combat.

I guess it depends if we want to associated with the same Captain or make our own small rag tag treasure hunters

I'm thinking a gunslinger that would fight duels for aristocrats, or in underground arenas. Has a gambling/drinking problem so they don't work with the treasure hunters since they don't stay in one place for too long. Like's to pick fights cause they know they'll win.

I was thinking of bringing Miyo back, only different. Insanely intelligent Klieku and handy with tech as before, though she has a cybernetic right arm which she constantly modifies. Builds ship, weapons, systems and cybernetics.
I enjoyed Miyo and it would be great to play her again

Like Lucy, or is Miyo not socially retarded?

Miyo can socialise, she tends to ramble

So what kind of treasure would we be hunting for, besides clues to the pirate kings hoard. Ancient technology? Scavenge derelict ships? Lost colonies/laboratories?

Why not all? I imagined there's ancient races that either went extinct or disappeared. They would have lost planets and ruins, some filled with tech never encountered before. Space would be littered with abandoned and desolate ships filled with value and mystery

Thought of giving the races a few unique abilities.
-Humans are basically the most adaptable race. Well rounded, pretty good at anything if they put their minds to it.
-Klieku have limited telepathy. Sense surface thoughts when focused an individual and able to send a short message into their mind.
-Kahn have their natural claws and sharp teeth, as well as a small regeneration factor to heal minor wounds and recover quickly
-Wulf folk are have thick hides and dense bone structure. Not only are they difficult to harm or move, they can pack a wallop.
-Exo ascend above in mind. Telekinetic and link in with technology for remote access.

Maybe the human body can take modification better than other races? Human body can handle cybernetics better than the other races.

Just realized I said the same sentence twice.

That could work well since they're used to adapting. Adaptation means that their bodies accept tech with less risks than other races. Meaning, humans are usually more augmented than other species

Since they adapt so well humans would be the most populous race right? Capable of colonizing planets other races find inhospitable.

Anything to create telekinesis? Like biotics in Mass effects.

Post by DodoDestroyer on Sept 23, 2018 3:21:34 GMT
I'm sure the Exo have probably created the tech capable of telekinesis, being innate telekinetics themselves. Though I'm sure they're very wary of who might use it. As a result, telekinesis tech is very rare and expensive. Though I imagine it's more common to obtain one from a black market than a legit Exo merchant.

So former bodyguard, duelist for aristocrats/diplomats/other VIPs. Various injuries over the years means he has a bunch of cyber parts, legal and black market. He had the telekinesis work done on him, but because it was black market the job wasn't done correctly. So no he needs a constant treatment so his body doesn't negatively reacted to the tech. A very expensive treatment which is why he now works with the treasure hunters.

Engineer klieku which has the savvy and intelligence to rival an Exo. Former slave until her sister managed to work/buy their freedom, who is currently missing. She's searching for her and staying with treasure hunters for safety, repaying with repairs, improvements and maintenance of equipment, the ship and any cyberware the crew has.

So Deaths, would you say Miyo would constantly maintaining your Deulist's tech, due to the side effects of the telekinesis?

Most likely. I was thinking the treatment involved nanotechnology. Every few weeks he needs to have the old ones purged and new ones put in. He would make her swear to never reveal this to anyone. It's a huge weakness and something he wants kept secret. How she handles it is up to her.

Reminds Miyo of Sparrow and how she never wants to show weakness, so she'd get it. Plus she is a little meek so if Duelist is the type to throw threats around, she'd keep her trap shut about it

I don't think he'd threaten her. You don't want to fuck with the person who is keeping you alive.
