I had an idea for a chanter I wanted to run by you. The idea is a knight or military commander who chants words of encouragement and tells legends of great warriors to inspire his units (for buffs). Also he can summon warriors to his side by telling their tales. What do you think?

Not the actual legends but his version of them and only temporarily. The stronger and more intelligentbthe summon the greater the cost to keep them fighting.

So what would someone have to do to get exiled from the Roa Lian before they're 30?

Murder, but you can leave as you wish, if you come back you have to earn your spot. Besides Roe like Thusians they barely age physically past a certain point

Regarding the proficiency levels, what does one have to do or how does one progress in the levels? And how hard are they to get from one to the other? And can you be demoted in any way?

It's a form of measurement as opposed official ranking. And ones proficiency never goes down unless their soul is damaged by some means.
The test of ones magical capacity is calculated by use of a simple levitation spell most children learn to gauge their talent. For an adult 100lb rock for 30 seconds is average or Common. So to test the higher levels greater weight is used.

Hmm, the Lomalum, where do they live and can you give me a possible run down on some of the characteristics of their species? Things such as how their societies are ran, how many offspring they typically have, the social/individualistic nature of their species, their magical capabilities if they have them, are they omnivores and for that matter are they cannibals, usual intelligence of the typical Lomalum, possible religious figures aside from the Gods of life and death, relations with the other species of Mordugrad. There is quite a lot I'd like to know about these creatures.

The Lomalum at their core are stubborn and patient this finds its way even into the way they wage war. They make their home on the eastern Continent mostly but mix heavily with Thusians near the south coast. Capital City Okura Valley. It sits at the root of a mountain and many of the larger structures were carved out of the existing rock.
Building structures of rock and metal are their proudest and most well known talents. They are ruled by family castes based on trade skills or guilds and the ruling body are guild leaders in a Senate based forum. Most civil disagreements are settled via contest, while larger policies are by vote.
Lomalum don't put a lot of stock in words, meaning they don't care if you make a promise delivering on the promise is valued.
To be continued...

I'm not rushing; there's still quite a few bits that still need to be sorted out, RP and canon-wise. I just wondered if there was a timeframe at all.

No specific timeframe though I so have the weekend to myself for once so I'll be able to get in some solid work.
I am not very good when it comes to scheduling and time management lol

Lomalum continued. This species uses magic much more practically, it is a tool like any other. Though they tend to prefer methods to improve their body or develop magic that helps them in their day to day. The Lomalum shield wall is a spell taught to every infantry man and soldier where they focus their power into a barrier that being said Lomalum have more standardized training in terms of military magic use and there is a minimum requirement to enlist. They are mostly herbivore, and export the most produce of all the races their ability to defend themselves makes them the second largest civilization on land. As for children, most Lomalum are born in pairs fraternal twins brother and sister pairs. Only child is a rare term to them but the belief is held that an only child is blessed/cursed by Thurat and often take to war later in life. They tend to revere the Goddess Alyma the god of Life despite her chaotic nature. Anything I neglected to answer? Specific questions help

Alrighty! Deaths asked me a few questions in Pm that aught to be answered publicly. Cause I don't feel like repeating myself lol
Any way. Sorrows, beings born of hundreds to thousands of souls of similar emotion and will often take years to form and not all are sentientvor intelligent only those in the several thousand soul range are smart but even then it takes time. But sometimes this unseen forming mass can reach out to a like minded mortal and propose a deal. To become one, a possession in where both Sorrow and mortal become one single entity in mind body and soul. They are often stricken with amnesia for some time as their powers settle into their flesh.
Dragons: are third tier Aethirial above monsters and mythics. (Trolls and gryphons being examples) Dragons are sentient being born of naturally occurring magic or natural Neth crystal deposits. The process takes much longer than a Sorrow but Dragons and any Aethirial below them are capable of breeding.
Above dragons are Djinn and Undyne elemental spirits of insane concentrations of natural magic. Djinn are often wind fire and earth base Undyne are Ice Water plant and light. Both tend to guard the areas of their birth until they become fully aware often seeking out Thusians as they are suitable hosts to expand their experience to flesh. Though they do not do this for long because no body can contain that much magic.

Yay! Sorry I have a few more questions about Sorrows. (I find them very interesting) Do sorrows have to always be linked with negative emotions? Are there any down sides to possession besides the temporary amnesia.
|
|
|
Post by Snoe on Apr 23, 2017 7:22:20 GMT
No, Not all sorrows are born of negative emotions. Though most are born on battlefields the most common emotions are often negative. That being said one of the most well known Sorrows is a being of protection in particular of lost causes. The Black Knight a suit of armor with enough power to decimate an army but only involves itself in unwinnable fights. The Corpa have come across it and actually take steps to track and avoid it.
A side effect of possession is emotional instability and simply using power damages the flesh temporarily. But also when using their form shifts into an unnatural form. Also they heal very quickly but pain lingers the more severe the longer it lasts. Who someone is before the possession barely remains after.

How often do these feasting seasons happen? Is it yearly or is it every few years?
|
|
|
Post by Snoe on Apr 29, 2017 23:56:50 GMT
Depends on the casualties and the harvest. But once every other year the longest time between was five but there are smaller raids in the summers. Feast season is a mobilization of royal Corpa and these Corpa are almost always archon level. But there are only six royal arms and only two have a big enough army to be a concern.

Hmm, why then would any human go back to these places then?
|
|
|
Post by Snoe on Apr 30, 2017 0:17:49 GMT
Not for a long time. Corpa don't hit the same places within a ten to twenty year span, there's a chance some villages never get hit. Corpa are careful in terms of hitting humans they are a valuable commodity. Other races on the other hand.
Like I said humans are their favourite and a delicacy. So much so that they raise entire farms of humans (towns cities) in their own lands to feed during theboff season and if the crop is too plentiful and Corpa numbers are down these humans are gifted with 'freedom" filling these empty abandoned settlements Corpa forbidden from attacking that town for an extended time 'ten years minimum'

That's Cybbils territory, and yes but she uses the islands to the east and mountain secluded valley's those humans know nothing about the outside world. Think Tibet.
