This is where the meanings of common terms will be listed and explained.
Darwin:
-A Darwin is a human being with superhuman abilities and powers. This ability is a genetic aberration and these abilities stem from natural means.
-Many studies have been conducted discovering that stem cells are at the core of developing these abilities and further more those born with these abilities often suffer various health issues of which spur a change in early development...although there is more to it and is either kept secret or ultimately unknown.
-Abilities born from Darwin's Syndrome often take a form to compensate for genetic anomalies defects andother hereditary diseases.
Freak:
-This is a person born with Darwin's syndrome, and often more potent than those which were induced.
-Freaks also tend to have an underlying health issue that their power compensates for... but is not always the case.
-In general due to public opinion and tragedies Freaks are seen as dangerous, save for a handful of 'heroes'
-Freaks are often singled out, and easily recognizable by shining eyes.
Swig:
-This is a person who underwent an Induction of Darwin's Syndrome.
-The Induction process is a dangerous and expensive one in which the results are unknown at the beginning.
-Side effects of the induction process become evident in the form of mild mental instability but are curbed by frequent monitoring.
-All Swigs are heavily regulated, most having accepted the Induction are under contract from Corporate interests that foot the sizeable bill and own the rights to that debt and essentially the Swig themselves.
-This contract can be sold to other Corporations and the trade of this debt is a common thing, the abilities gained from the Induction process dictate the value of these Contracts and the future of this employee's debt.
-Most Inductee's are destitute looking for their 'big' break and some are simply rich and want power; which doesn't always end in their favor.
Induction:
-The process in which someone not born a Darwin becomes one.
-The Induction is done through an operation that includes processes akin to Gene Therapy, Dialysis and Bone Marrow transplantation, often taking several months to complete and over a year of rehabilitation and testing. All of which results in a large investment.
-The inductee's body is infused with a viral gene-therapy through multiple vectors and kept in a coma like state for extended periods while their body adapts to the Keystone Virus that triggers Darwin's Syndrome.
-Their body undergoes severe changes which are meticulously monitored recorded and studied for both safety and stream lining later inductions.
-The mortality rate is a staggering 30%
-Neurological, psychological and nervous system corruption are often side effects.
