Ruby shrugged at Crescendo after he thanked her and unfolded her arms as the group began to walk further down the sidewalk. She swayed her arms around herself out of boredom as she walked. So far, the trip hadn't really been much more exiting for her than staying inside. Deliberately shuffling behind the others as they walked ahead of her, she raised her head to look up at the three taller figures. She wasn't really sure what to call them at this point. Even though she was hanging out with them, they weren't even really her friends. She didn't really have much of a reason to tag along with the acquaintances, but she understood that it was better than doing nothing. Crescendo at least seemed cool enough for it, but she still received sort of strange vibes from the other two. Too intimidated by Night Terror to mess with him, she deliberately bumped past Livewire when she quickened her pace to begin moving near the front of the group. She didn't acknowledge doing so, though, so that it could appear to have possibly been an accident.
She noticed attention from the people around them at about the same time as Crescendo, which sent her into a sort of arrogant mode. She really hoped that none of her fans would try to stop her for anything, especially since there were no cameras in sight. Without her response being broadcasted, interacting with any fans would've just been a waste of time. She made a point of glaring at the people who stared at the group for too long. As the group walked close enough to hear a couple talking about her, she crossed her arms and listened to what they had to say. She listened to them in a mixture of pride and contempt as they speculated about her presence. On one hand, she was as satisfied as usual with her gradually increasing fame but she also internally mocked the couple for caring so much about a stranger. She rolled her eyes when she heard the woman suggest that the other three were her body guards, angry that people would still assume that she's weak enough to need to bring around protection. "Ugh. Watch the show, idiots!" She called out to them when the group finally passed them, implying that they must've been losers for not watching the show and already seeing the other three there.
After managing to walk with the group further with little incident, she eventually found more attention. While the group was momentarily stopped, she jumped due to the sudden surprise of a girl of around the same height beside of her. When she realized that the girl was probably hysterical, she huffed and exaggeratedly moved her hands in an annoyed way. As the girl yelled about her presence, she looked around to see if she was drawing any crowds. Even though the girl was only a bit younger, she couldn't help but think about how immature she was. The only saving grace seemed to be the mother who at least tried to take the girl away before she could bother her too much. Before her opinion of the girl could cement itself in her mind, though, the sheer enthusiasm visible on the girl's face made her heart sink with guilt. It was obvious that she meant more to the girl than just blind celebrity worship.
She watched in surprise as the kid ran up to her face, only slightly shorter than her. The way that she innocently held out an otherwise meaningless object reminded her of her previous dealing with Matrix and the pepper. There was no reason to have been so cruel back then, and there certainly wasn't now. She swallowed the same urge that would've led her to pushing away and insulting such a gesture before, accepting the button into her hand. "Y-yeah, thanks." Ruby's face went a bit red with conflicting emotion, but she spoke to the child gently and even smiled back at her. She found it strange that such a kind girl would look up to her, but decided that it was probably just due to their similar age. Whatever the case, this kind of attention made her feel the opposite of how her fans usually made her feel. Before she could say anything else, the girl's mom quickly came to take her daughter away and apologize for her. She glared at the mom after she did so, bringing out suppressed anger. "Sorry for what?" She scowled. "That your daughter was able to meet her hero and say what she wanted to?" The woman had probably known about Ruby's reputation and was trying to avoid making her angry. That kind of disingenuous response was what she typically hated the most about her fans, though. "Get lost." She said to the mother, making sure she wasn't looking in her daughter's direction.
Before she turned around to the rest of the group, she gave the girl a small wave to show that she was still thankful. Turning her back on the two and waiting for the three to keep moving, she assumed the two wandered off.

Sven watched Ruby's display impassively. Was this demonstrating that she was actually somewhat in control? Or just another trick to make him lower his guard? Like he'd trust her. "You have to trust someone, sir." Damn he needed to get Intel fixed this was distracting him from his mission. He continued striding along not caring whether or not the others kept up any more just wanting to complete his task and get back to work.

The girls eyes seemed to sparkle when Ruby took the button from her hand. "I hope you like it!" She called back to her as her mother hurried her daughter away from Ruby. The mother can be heard as they walk away, "What did I tell you about talking to strangers, Sarah? That's it no TV for the rest of the day." Sarah voiced her displeasure before fading into the background noise of the city.
Darrius wore a small smile as they continued their walk. He and Sven had not stopped walking but he kept his attention on the conversation to see how it went. When she had caught back up to the group he said,"So you can be nice when you want to."

Ruby blankly stared at the button and rolled in around in her hand for a second before pocketing it. She'd try not to lose it, but treating the girl with some kindness was the most she owed her. She didn't really have any sentimentality for the item and wouldn't make a huge deal of losing it. She rolled her eyes when she heard the mother talk to her daughter behind her. She couldn't really imagine being talked to that way by her parents. Still, she felt pleased with her handling of the situation. Being kind to those who deserve it puts an ease to her conscious and brings her self -confidence up a bit. In no hurry, she turned towards her group and began to idly walk towards them.
As she slowly caught up with the three, she met their eyes with an even stronger sense of resolve than before. She glanced over at Crescendo when he was the first to address her. She stood up a bit straighter at his comment, secretly pleased that the group had been listening despite their distance away from her. She was glad that they'd actually witnessed a side of her that wasn't as childish as she usually couldn't help but to act. This was hidden by her physical dismissal of his praise, though. "Whatever." She replied simply, slowly waving her hand between them and glancing away from his face. She quietly glided over to the front of the group, leading the way despite not knowing where they were headed. "So what comes after the pawn shop?" She asked in a low, mocking voice. "Something even more boring or less?"

As the taxi rolled up to a suburban detached house, Katie breathed in a deep breath. This was not going to be a fun time. She wasn't even sure how this was going to go, but she had a very good idea. Swallowing once as she paid the fare and stepped out of the taxi, multiple scenarios ran through her mind, more than one of which resulting in her premature death from enraged mother. The most painful way to go, probably. Marshalling her strength and starting the walk up the path towards the door, she reflected on the events that had brought her here; she wasn't fond of any of them, but she had promised to protect the girl from hurt, since she wasn't used to places like this. She didn't even want to be here in the first place, but due to circumstances that Katie was not made privy to, she was here regardless. She had made a promise regardless, and now she was here cleaning up the mess of the rest of the Heroes that had led her here. She wasn't convinced that Matrix's mother would absolve her of blame when she knew what happened, though. She had made a promise; one that she had failed to keep irrespective of semantics. Coming to a halt on the step in front of the door, she swallowed again, steeling herself before she knocked politely three times on the door, patiently awaiting a response as she stood there, calm on the outside as her mind raced a hundred miles a minute.
Hearing movement behind the door, she patiently stood in place as she heard the lock click in the door, watching as the door swung open and Měyíng appeared in the doorway, her face dangerously impassive as she saw who was standing there, her left arm still fixed around the edge of the door as she stood stock still in the doorway, not saying a word and fixing Katie with the deadliest stare she'd ever come across. Katie had faced down bosses, CEO's, criminals and even supervillains, but not one of them had even come close to making her fear for her life like the stare that Měyíng was now giving her. Opening her mouth to speak, the words faltered in her mouth and she only managed to get out an awkward stutter as Měyíng swiftly raised her finger without a word, silently giving the signal to shut the hell up lest she wish to have her head removed. Měyíng breathed deeply, measured and slow through her nostrils for several seconds, marshalling her composure before she let the breath out just as slowly.
"If I wasn't 100% sure that she would become terrified if she saw or even knew that I'd done it..." Měyíng began, her voice wavering, clearly struggling to not unleash a tidal wave of rage despite her calm demeanour. "I would make sure, right here and now, that you would become nothing more than a red pulp on my driveway...that looks more like sledgehammered jelly than anything even resembling a person." she revealed, her knuckles long having turned white from her grip on the door. "And I advise you to choose your words very carefully, before I make that fantasy of mine a reality before I can stop myself.". Katie had heard numerous threats like that over the years, from different people with different agendas. But now was the first time that she was genuinely unnerved that the person in front of her would actually follow through with the threat.
Katie took a deep breath, doing her best to manage her feelings. "Where-"
"You don't get to know that." Měyíng interrupted, her temper flaring. "You don't get to ask where or how she is after what happened."
"Mrs. Simmons, if you'd just let me-"
"Why the hell would I let you even remotely near her presence?" Měyíng asked, stepping forwards and closing the door behind her. Her voice still steady, it was impossible to miss the murderous intent behind her words, her eyes flaring brighter than the flames of the sun as she stepped forwards. Standing her ground, Katie followed her gaze as her head tilted back slightly to lock eyes with the seething woman across from her, as hard as keeping eye contact in this moment was; she felt like she was going to turn to stone any second from the intensity alone. Painfully aware of the four inch difference in height between them, she resisted the urge to swallow the saliva in her throat. "You're out of your goddamn mind if you think she's going back there after what happened; I'm not going to let you take her back there to get hurt again."
"Mrs. Simmons, if I could just-"
"Do you know what I was doing several hours ago?" Měyíng asked, brutally cutting across the smaller woman's words once more as she crossed her arms and leaned her body forwards, most likely an intimidation technique from the prospect of her daughter being threatened. It was working; although Katie was far too professional to show it, she was quaking in her boots. "I was watching TV, and working on something work-related as I put my feet up. You know, things normal people do that have normal families. Then do you know what I hear upstairs? Clattering, and whining." she revealed in a low voice, her eyes still menacing. "I run upstairs, and I find my daughter, the one that you swore that you would keep safe from everything that she doesn't understand, terrified and hyperventilating to the point where she wouldn't let go of me or even speak for over an hour. I'd ask you do you know what that's like, but you don't, do you?" she asked rhetorically, laughing a pained, cynical laugh as she refused to budge from her position. "See, I didn't want her there because I KNEW this would happen. I KNEW the rest of you would fuck everything up and hurt her in some way."
"Mrs. Simm-"
"She doesn't understand." Měyíng cut across, her tone turning somewhat pleading. "Everything that you and I take for granted in our everyday lives, she doesn't get. She has her powers, sure, but..." she paused, taking the time to run her hand across her face, her expression turning desperate. "she...she doesn't get the world, and how it works. Nothing makes sense, nothing works properly, and everybody understands it even though it doesn't make any sense, but she doesn't. Do you have any idea how many times I was worried to death about her even going to school? Or going on a trip, or even going across the goddamn road?! Do you have any idea how many times I got phone calls from school to let me know that kids had been picking on her, or she'd done something she didn't understand the consequences to? She doesn't understand people; people have never worked for her, they never clicked in her head. Which is why she continues to put her faith in people. And every single goddamn time, it blows up in her face."
"I understand that you're upset, but-"
"Shut. The hell. Up." Měyíng interrupted, her expression returning to its original menace as she raised her finger once more to shut her up. Taking a deep breath, Měyíng looked over Katie's shoulder to take note of the kids skating in the street with their friends, laughing and joking without a care in the world and oblivious to the attention paid to them by the woman in the driveway. Breathing deeply through her nose, the taller woman closed her eyes as she marshalled herself. "One day. No, not even that; it took less than one goddamn day for things to go to absolute shit, and I-I trusted you...when you told me that you'd make sure that everything would be okay."
"Everything is okay, I just need-"
"You're going to stand there...and tell me that everything is okay?" Měyíng asked, her voice quiet and loaded to the brim with murderous intent.
"No, that-that's not what I meant." Katie quickly backtracked, stammering slightly before taking a deep breath to compose herself for the irate woman. "Look...what happened was a mistake, okay? From what I know about it, Chloe was trying to calm one of her co-workers down, and...apparently she said something that hit a nerve that she wasn't expecting."
"Congratulations, you've just described every goddamn conversation she's ever been a part of." Měyíng interrupted, her tone sardonic. Taking another breath before she continued, Katie ploughed on.
"Look, the reason that I'm here is so that I can apologise for what happened, okay? There's a contract in place, but-" she stopped mid-sentence, taking note of the homicidal look Měyíng's eyes adopted. "but that's not why I'm here. The person in question feels awful; the reason I'm here is because she came to talk to me about what's happened, and she seems genuinely regretful over what happened. From what I've seen, most of the people actually like her, and the person I'm talking about has been developing a friendship with her, from recent events. As angry as I know you have a right to be, I don't think this is malicious; I think it was just...a huge misunderstanding."
"Well, that misunderstanding has ensured that she hasn't spoken a goddamn word since she got back, so you'll forgive me if an apology doesn't really do it for me. And if you don't forgive me, you can go fuck yourself." Měyíng bit back angrily, turning to go back inside the house.
"Mrs. Simmons, I-"
"Who was it?" Měyíng interrupted once more, whirling around and crossing her arms once more in anger, her eyes blazing once more. "It was Highlight, wasn't it? I saw that goddamn interview; that bullshit fake smile of hers and her bullshit laugh and her fucking bullshit hair." she spat out, fury and vitriol gushing from her person with a ferocious intensity. "Why the hell is she not here, hmm? Why the hell are you here to fight her goddamn battles for her?"
"Since I'm the representative for the group," Katie began, her voice measured and steady in the face of her nerves. "I thought it would be best if I was to try and salvage the situation alone, given that if whomever in question was to be here, then it may cause emotions to run higher than need be."
"You mean she's too chickenshit to get down here and face the fucking mess her little golden-girl persona has created, hmm?" Měyíng deduced, reducing Katie's diplomatic answer to the bare root. "She has the gall to send you down here and clean up what's happened herself? Why the fuck is she not here, on her goddamn knees in front of somebody that never meant to hurt her?!"
"If...I ask her to come down here, would you possibly-"
"Tell you what." Měyíng started aggressively, her gaze blaring. "When that little carebear makes things painfully clear between my daughter and her, if it's as clear as you say it is, by the way, then that would be a much better fucking start to this shitshow than you coming down here on your own. Because it's Měífeng's decision. As much as I fucking hate it, if this is going to get any fucking better, she needs to be involved. Now you get the woman that hurt my daughter down here to say what she fucking needs to say," Měyíng offered, her face extremely close to Katie's in her seething anger, her voice's wavering from anger returning. "Or I swear to Unholy God, each and every one of you will be begging for me to kill you where you stand." she finished in a low voice, her eyes blazing infernos. Swallowing once and nodding sharply to the taller woman, Katie wordlessly stepped back to make a phone call when she heard a rattling behind her getting progressively louder, turning around to see a skateboard from one of the kids roll past her, coming to a stop when Měyíng planted her foot on the centre of the deck.
"Hey, Ms. Simmons, can you give that back? We're kind of in the middle of something." the kid at the edge of the driveway called, his prepubescent face earnest as he waited in anticipation. Turning her head as Měyíng picked up the board with her hands, Katie watched as Měyíng seemed to study the board for a few seconds, before grabbing it tightly by the edges and turning around swiftly back towards the house, slamming the board against the brick of the exterior once and watching as the board snapped in two with a loud crunch, wooden pieces exploding around them from the sheer force of the rage-induced attack. Her eyes wide in shock, Katie watched as Měyíng turned around with one half of the skateboard in her hands, her face somewhat calmer as she carelessly threw it to the ground, the board loudly clattering met the boy's stunned expression with an inscrutable expression of her own. "But...but..." the boy stuttered, utterly stunned to his core at the sight, his finger pointing pathetically at his board.
"I'll buy you a new one." Měyíng interrupted calmly, her tone measured but still murderous as she turned her expression to a stunned Katie, who was no longer able to fully contain her emotions at the sight. "Call. Now." Měyíng commanded, swiping her now messy hair out of her eyes with one hand as she pointed deliberately to the phone in Katie's pocket with her other hand, watching the kids scramble away as fast as they could out of the corner of her eye.
Watching as Měyíng briefly composed herself before storming back inside the house to tend to her daughter, Katie felt her lungs start to hurt; letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding, she cast her gaze to the splintered and broken skateboard currently spread out across the driveway. Staring for several seconds before she marshalled herself, she reached into her pocket and slowly pulled out her phone, unlocking the device as she turned around to face the road, her back to the house as she pressed the speed-dial in her phone and held the device up to her ear. She was prepared for whatever was going to happen; she had dealt with situations like this before. But she hadn't dealt with this before. She needed to make this right. And she couldn't do it alone.
She just felt sorry for Highlight in advance for when she got down here.

Sharna hasn't moved from her seat. She sits there, still as a statue, every muscle in her body is tense and her eyes are just staring ahead impassively. Her mind is going crazy, she can't relax even if she wanted to. Her mind is just replaying the scenario in the bedroom. The look of panic on Matrix's face, the screams she made, the quickening of her beathing. It makes her shudder everytime. She wished she could do this herself and help in every way possible, to fix her mistakes. She hasn't felt this kind of regret in a very long time and all she could do is sit there and wallow in her own self--
her MeChip begins blinking, a call from Katie. As soon as she recognises the name to be her handler and without even waiting a half second to think about it, she picks it up before Antonio could even speak up about it. "Is she okay?" Are the first words she says unconsciously. She still can't comprehend how worried she is for Matrix right now. "I do not know for now, Sharna." Katie says on the other line, sounding just as professional as always. "This is why I called you. Before we can continue, Miss Simmons has requested for you to come--" Katie begins, but Sharna immediately interrupts. "What's the address?" She asks, feeling a little hope that she herself can help with this. "Sharna listen before you get ahead of yourself. Miss Simmons is... not happy. In the slightest. I need you to be cautious with what you say, what you do. Even with what you think. This isn't your usual situation where you can rely on your charm and charisma too much. You listen and only speak when spoken to. Do you understand?" Katie instructs her in the tone she adopted back at the interview, nothing in her voice or with what she said has triggered the feeling of minor anxiety within Sharna, but she has a gut feeling this is not going to go smoothly. But she can't back out now, she needs to help Katie sort this.
with a deep breath, Sharna takes her handler's advice very carefully and with consideration. "Okay.. I understand." She could almost picture Katie nodding on the other end of the phone before hanging up. Few seconds later, a message is sent to her with the proper address of Matrix's home. She looks up to Orbit and her features soften, he didn't have to come to her aid when she was curled up in a ball outside that door, but he did and she really appreciates that."Dylan. Thank you for this. For helping me out. I'm going to sort this now. I'll be back soon." she says earnestly and without waiting for a response, she speeds out of the mansion and to her destination.
Within just under an hour, she arrives just at the corner a few blocks away. She doesn't want to draw too much attention and the trails she leaves from speeding do just that. Hood over her head, she briskly walks until she sees Katie. "Remember what I said. Keep your calm and only speak when spoken to." she reminds the young hero with deadly seriousness. Sharna nods silently, she can't plan what to say. An angry mother is unpredictable and she will have to go step by step. She pulls down her hood and keeps her eyes fixed on the door as she knocks three times firmly. She has no idea what to expect.

Dylan was still laying on the wall and was about to doze off before Sharna, who he probably could've been forgiven if he said that she was dead as she was so still in her chair. He propped his head up from his laying down position on the wall, and listened to intently, his face tired. Finally the call ended and Sharna looked at him once more. Now being focused on, Dylan's eyes glew as he tilted his gravity torwards the floor once more. Now standing up, Dylan wiped the sleepiness from his eyes, still wearing a warm smile. He was about to respond, but in a flash she was gone. He sighed, looking around at Katie's office. It was just him once again. He could've sworn he saw his sister in the corner, but Dylan walked off before he could inspect it.
Seeing no one in the hall, he decided to use his powers to get around. Everyone was probably in their rooms, he thought. However he noticed how their wasn't much movement in upstairs. Maybe some went out, he mused. Well, he thought, now's a good time as any to research. He headed to the kitchen and levitated a bagel from the fridge to him as he flew torwards the gym area.
He flew with less speed as he usually would in the open coty, and he was mindful of the walls around him, but seeing as how it was a mansion space wasn't a problem, and it didn't hurt that he was a skilled flyer. He weaved through the mansion without much of a sound before eventually reaching the gym. He practiced using his powers to shoot hoops, play minigolf, and organize all the balls from size order. I might as well be the sport hero, he thought with a laugh. He made sure to take notes of how he could multitask his abilities, and how close he could make the gravity fields. After a while he took a break, and opted to watch T.V. He had practically the hole mansion to himself, aside from the few upstairs, but they seemed to be doing their own thing, so he didn't interrupt.

Sitting in Měyíng's front room having taken a seat on the couch whilst Měyíng sat in a chair, leaning back her left leg crossed over her right as her arms lay on the rests, her left hand drumming a pattern into the leather as her eyes bored into Katie where she sat across the room, Katie was uncomfortably aware of the extreme silence in the room. Sound almost nonexistent save the rapid, rhythmic drumming of Měyíng's fingers on the leather upholstery, Katie sat in her position in complete silence, her posture somewhat awkward as she tried to remain professional, her back ramrod straight and both her hands in her lap. At first, she'd tried to make conversation, but Měyíng had simply cut across her, asking her through gritted teeth whether she wanted tea. Fearing for her head should she refuse, Katie had nonetheless contributed to her hosts politeness and accepted, watching as Měyíng wordlessly stood up and vanished into the kitchen. Electing not to move, she contented herself with doing as much business as she could from her phone before Měyíng returned, wordlessly holding two cups of tea, one of which she extended to Katie with a fair amount of force. Biting back her surprise that none of the tea spilled over the side, she took the tea politely and watched as Měyíng returned to her seat, her expression returning to its murderous default as she wordlessly sipped the tea. It was really good tea, actually; apparently, it was classic Chinese tea from Měyíng's home province of China where she grew up, managing to glean such information only after choosing her words and her tone very carefully. She only realised the symbolism behind such a gesture somewhat later on.
Attempting at various points to try and salvage the situation in any way before Highlight got here, each time she was immediately shut down by Měyíng without a word, her index finger raising upwards to very politely let Katie know to be very quiet lest she desire pain and suffering to befall her. After several times, she began to take the hint; despite her training and her adeptness at her job, this was not something that she could salvage with her own skill. Several times, Měyíng would get up from where she sat and head upstairs intermittently, undoubtedly to check on her daughter. Katie really wished that she could perhaps talk to Chloe, perhaps explain to her what happened; she'd bonded with the girl a bit, and she empathised with what she was feeling. She didn't want much more than to make it better, but Měyíng's vehement refusal had destroyed that plan as well, leaving Katie sitting awkwardly in the front room in total silence with an incensed mother that wished extreme violence upon her until said mother went back upstairs and she could occupy herself with business for a while.
Later, Měyíng came back downstairs and seated herself in her chair once more, resuming her drumming fingers against the leather as Katie sat there, nerves high and keeping wisely silent until the drumming abruptly stopped. Her gaze moving to Měyíng's now stationary fingers, she looked as Měyíng stared out of the window, her expression impassive and her gaze unblinking. Following the woman's gaze, Katie's eyes widened slightly as she saw a figure heading up the street towards them, her hood up and her hands in her pockets as she checked the addresses of each of the houses. Highlight was here. As soon as she realised it herself, she saw Měyíng launch up from her chair with renewed energy, her eyes blazing in righteous anger as she stormed out of the door, heading upstairs. Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, Katie nonetheless shot up from her own seat, heading towards the door and moving through the hallway until she reached the front door and headed through, meeting Highlight at the mouth of the driveway in the now utterly empty street. Reminding to be extremely careful about what she says and does in the face of Měyíng as the two walked up to the door and Highlight pulled her hood down, she felt slightly worried for what she would face; she didn't know what was coming, and she wasn't sure she wanted to. Stepping to the side as Highlight stepped up to the plate and knocked thrice firmly, she allowed herself to pull out some hope that this would go well. It would go well, she hoped; everything would turn out for the better. But as the door was aggressively slammed open and Highlight violently jerked backwards as a wild-eyed Měyíng stepped forwards through the doorway with a loaded shotgun in her practised grip, she felt the blood drain from her face.
"Do you know what you did?!" Měyíng spat out with vitriol as she stepped forwards, the gun aimed directly at Highlight's face as Highlight stumbled backwards wildly, her eyes wide open in shock as both she and Katie began to shout rebuttals and pleas at her. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE HELL YOU'VE DONE?!"
"Ms. Simmons, put the gun down! Please!!" Katie pleaded, her face pale and her head swimming slightly, her mouth dryer than a desert as her heart pounded at the sight of Highlight too stunned to speak or act, her eyes wide as she comprehended the incandescent hatred of the taller woman in front of her, almost able to see the flames of hellfire erupt from the ground where Měyíng was standing.
"Now before I go to prison for the rest of my life for first degree murder," Měyíng spat, her eyes blazing as she held the weapon steady, heaving deep breaths to temper herself as best she could. "Would you mind telling me exactly why you made the purest, most well-meaning girl on this planet come home bawling her eyes out and terrified to even speak?! Well?!" Měyíng demanded forcefully, her grip steady as she fixed Highlight with one of the most hateful stares Katie had ever seen. Swallowing hard, she quickly turned her gaze to Highlight, all responses dying in her throat as she waited to see how Highlight would handle this. A faint voice in the back of her head reminded her of bomb-disposal training; one thing went wrong, and the entire operation went to shit.
Now, as much as she hated the entire situation, all she could do now was see if Highlight had what it took to succeed.

Sharna stared into the barrel of the shotgun as the enraged mother screamed at her for an explanation. She is panicking wildly inside, instinct screaming at her to defend herself, but she stops it from exploding out into the open. Antonio is saying something in an urgent and very concerned voice, she doesn't understand he's saying, too focused on the weapon aimed at her head. She's quick, but there's no chance in hell she could pull up a hardlight shield faster than a shotgun shell a two point blank range. She only realised she has raised her hands slightly in the air out of reflex. It hits her. Sharna's life will be put to an end if she screws up here. She takes a deep breath and slowly exhales to calm herself.
"Yes I do, Miss Simmons." Sharna says in the calmest and even voice that she can manage in this state and making eye contact. "I do realise. I'm not going to insult you by playing with words or dance around this. I will tell you what happened straight and honest." She looks at Katie, fearing what she might think of her after hearing this. This is it. This secret isn't worth dying for. "Chloe came to my room to comfort me over something that got me upset... what upset me was that I'm being blackmailed. Somebody has... videos of me. Pornographic content. They've been squeezing money out of me in exchange to not send it out to the public. That gets out, I lose everything. Not just my career and reputation, but any hopes to ever live a normal life again, to ever have my parents look at me the same way again." Her words are raw and genuine, there's no hints of lying or rehearsal in her words. Her eyes water and hands beginning to shake already feeling insecure and the possibility that she's being judged by Katie and the gun wielding woman in front of her. She must press on.
"Chloe was so lovely to me... she listened to every word as I ranted about my stress, made me feel like I didn't have to hide my problems like I do everyday." She says softly, admiring the young girl. "She mentioned my pornography. I realised after I calmed down that she could have easily found it out through her powers. She meant nothing by it, she had no idea how badly that past life affected me. But nobody knew about it but me and the man blackmailing me, I panicked. I said things, made myself sound like a complete psychopath and pushed her into a panic attack... once I realised what I did, it was too late." She looks down for a moment, guilt plastered on her face. She looks back up and makes eye contact again. "Please do not think I am in anyway trying to excuse myself for what I did. I handled it terribly, I am the villain in this." She says calmly, a tear breaks away from her eyes, constantly being reminded of her outburst by her own mind. "Miss Simmons if you are still fully intent on shooting me dead... so be it. Just please tell Chloe how sorry I am, that she did thing wrong."
Sharna finishes her words, taking another breath. She never took a single breath in between her explanation. She keeps eye contact, fearing what will happen next.

Crescendo chuckled, "Depends one what you consider boring. I am heading to an electronics store to pick something up for a friend of mine. I have to buy an upgrade for her mechip. Since you seem to know alot about mechips and which ones are in style, I figured I'd let you pick it out."

Arriving at the MeChip store Sven strode over to the counter. "My MeChip personality is malfunctioning I wish to have it repaired." The spotty teenager behind the counter blinked up at him nervously. "O-of course sir, if you'd just let me scan it in..." Sven held out his arm and the shop assistant held a dinostic tool over the chip in his wrist. "Class-3, minimum personality, Military appearance, surveillance functionality..." She listed off all Intel's functions. "Everything seems to be working perfectly sir. What seems to be the problem?" Sven ground his teeth. "It keeps asking me questions and commenting without me askin it to when I bought this version I specifically requested that it not do that." "Let me get my supervisor to check this scan sir just to be sure." The assistant disappeared into the back.

Her eyes rapidly flitting back and forth from Highlight's terrified stance to Měyíng's enraged expression, her chest hurting from breaths she consistently forgot that she was holding, Katie remained stationary where she stood, hesitant to even move and avoid complicating the situation. Today had been fucking awful, and finding out about Highlight's apparent pornography blackmail had only made things a hundred times worse. Why she didn't come to her, she could understand, but she also reminded herself of the fact that if Highlight had come to her, then she could have helped with the situation. Discreetly. She could get why she didn't trust her with such information, given that they had only known each other for a day, but at this point she was just running over situations to make herself feel better. Hindsight was a wonderful thing, to be sure. But even with that in mind, she could see the reason for Highlight's adverse reaction; she could have had an ounce of self-restraint, but in the moment, it's often different. This was a bad situation, a very bad situation. And one that she needed to work together with her on this. Unfortunately, due to the look on Měyíng's face, she clearly thought differently.
"Terribly?" Měyíng repeated, her voice calm but laced with murderous intent as her unblinking eyes fixed on Highlight. "You handled it...terribly? That is the grossest goddamn understatement that I have heard in a long goddamn time. You think the fact that you regret getting railed on camera makes what you did any better?" she spat out, before raising the gun away from Highlight and propping it across her shoulder, holding it with one hand as she ran her other hand cross her mouth, scoffing in furious amusement as she dropped her hand and placed it on her hip, cocking her head to the side slightly. "I probably shouldn't have expected any different from someone like you, I mean...yeah, she was nice. She is ALWAYS going to be nice. Because she never wants to hurt anybody. Ever. But as soon as push comes to shove, it becomes fucking clear, doesn't it?" Měyíng asked rhetorically, her eyes burning as she stepped forwards towards Highlight, her mouth turned up into an unnerving smirk. "When your pride is threatened, all you can think about is yourself, isn't it? You forget that she'd never want to hurt anybody, you forget about that 'protective instinct towards her' bullshit. I mean, who cares about her feelings when you're the one in danger, right?"
Ms. Simmons," Katie started, her voice measured but slightly protesting. "I really don't-"
"Don't you?" Měyíng interrupted, her voice acerbic as her head snapped towards Katie, her sheer gaze shutting down whatever Katie was going to say. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes for a few seconds to marshal herself, she reopened them as she looked back towards Highlight. "I'm not going to ask...why you did the pornography." Měyíng started, her voice dangerously calm once more. "I'm not even going to ask why you're here, in this...show. No, because I don't give a fuck. Because I will never know...what the hell goes in inside the minds of people like you, and quite frankly, I don't want to. I don't know...what compels you to desire to be famous with everything that you have, why your pride and public perception means so goddamn much to you. No, because...you know what Měífeng is like, don't you? She's awkward. She's tentative. The way everybody acts the way they do might be a goddamn foreign language to her...but she's strong." Měyíng continued, her expression gradually losing some of its fire as it gradually turned more and more heartbroken in the face of what has happened. "Not physically, but...she knows who she is, and what she wants to stand for. She doesn't understand why everybody seems to hate her, but she will always stand up for what she believes is right time after time, even if it means the whole world will hate her for it. That's probably not a feeling that you know very well, is it? Given that you're willing to terrify a girl so that your own public perception retains its stellar reputation." Měyíng spoke up, her tone now sounding almost defeated, a self-deprecating smile crossing her features.
"I don't know what kind of life you've had." Měyíng continued, her gaze having lost most of its righteous hatred and now carrying a look of utter stoic sincerity, raising her chin up slightly. "Měífeng probably does. She probably knows more about you than I ever will. But I know that when you say you'd never have a normal life...I know that's bullshit. When you say that, you mean that you'd never get the adoration that you apparently seem to crave. Now, I don't give a shit what you do. After what's happened, I don't think I could care what happened to you if I tried. But I know that living the life that I have? Living in...utter obscurity while I care for one person that can't take care of themselves? Nobody will know who the hell I am, but I wouldn't trade the life I've lived for the goddamn world. You're worried about your parents, but you think I'd care a fucking shred if Měífeng had done something like that that she regretted? She's my daughter, and I know who she is, and I know her value. And I know that she is a good person, worthy of my love and complete adoration no matter what she's done. And if your parents wouldn't feel the same way, then they didn't deserve to be parents at all. Because I love her more than anything else on this goddamn world." Měyíng revealed, her sincerity and utter solidarity extremely powerful in the face of her peers, Katie almost feeling the strength radiating off of her. "See, everybody knows who you are." Měyíng spoke up, locking eyes with Highlight. "But how many people actually know you? How many people actually see what matters, rather than what they want to see or what you show them? Because I don't know what the hell it was, but that's what Měífeng saw in you. And because of that, you've crushed her. So congratulations for that." Měyíng finished, her voice regaining some of its fire as she turned around with a final glare towards both Highlight and Katie before she headed towards the door, her grip growing slack around the shotgun. Not making a sound as she watched her head towards the door, Katie watched as Měyíng didn't look back, reaching the door and heading back inside her house to find the one person that gave her the purpose that she was talking about, wincing slightly as the door slammed behind her.
Slowly turning to Highlight after several seconds of stunned silence and staring at the door, Katie turned to Highlight, her mouth slightly open in shock before she closed it slightly and forced herself to regain some semblance of professionalism, her gaze turning to the shell-shocked woman next to her. "Are you okay?" she asked tentatively, her gaze guarded, but still caring.
Her outward expression was relatively calm, but internally, she was screaming. This definitely wasn't the day that she had expected.

Sharna can't keep eye contact with the woman anymore, her composure is slowly cracking as she continues to speak the words of a very harsh truth. The words she received in response were hitting her harder than the shells in that shotgun would. She begins to doubt herself, the fear she felt when Matrix mentioned it was endangering her pride. Seriously, what else could it be? That fear was losing everybody who adored her and everything she worked had to achieve, what made her parents proud of her. What made herself proud. She didn't even think for a second how Matrix would feel, just how the hell she knew something about her. That much is crystal clear now. She especially hates hearing the mention of her parents. Yeah, maybe her parents would eventually get over what she did. But they have to live a life now where thousands of people watch their daughter getting shamelessly fucked on camera, they will get so much shit for it. Harrassed by media and perverts. They don't need that burden... They have loved her more than words can decribe even before her powers manifested. supported her every step of the way and were, currently still are, her biggest fans. The mother's words made her realise that she isn't afraid that her parents will stop loving her because of this, she is afraid that the damage she causes won't be something they can handle mentally for their daughter's mistakes.
The part that stings the most? Matrix, Chloe. Her mother speaks the same words that she spoke to her daughter only hours ago. That the people who adore her only want to see Highlight, the beloved hero of the decade that is perfect in every way and an inspiration to all. The person who moulded and shaped this hero, Sharna Wendell, does not matter. She just ordinary, insecure and flawed like your average everyday person. Who cares about that? Nobody wants to hear about her or her issues. Not many have cared for the person she is apart from her parents. She doubts Alex fell for the person behind the mask and the name at first. Orbit might be the same, too early to tell... Chloe didn't have to care for her when she felt upset, she could have left her to it like most people would. She didn't have to listen to her rants that made helped her blow off steam. But she did, because she cared about Sharna, not Highlight... and she just had to fuck it all up. But her mother is wrong about one thing... Sharna does care for Chloe's feelings. She does feel that protective instinct. She came all the way down her to face her consequences not for her pride but for Chloe, to make things right. She crippling guilt she is feeling, the concern for Chloe, it is all because she cares. She could have easily hid away in her room and let Katie sort it, or just never let it settle and forget it ever happened. She is right, she doesn't know her and she doesn't know how much her daughter has left an impact on Sharna just by going out of her way to talk to show up at her room doing something as simple as talking. If she can't repair the damage she has done, she sure as hell will do whatever it takes to make up for it and support her.
Sharna finally lets go of her breath she has been holding when the door is slammed shut, holding herself up on her knees. That was a tremendously traumatic experience. She believed that the trigger would have been pulled at any moment. Her knees feel like they're going to give way, sweat is beginning to form on her forehead, her breathing is a heavy shake. She wants to vomit, she can almost taste it in her mouth. Fuck, she could have died! Her head is spinning wildly with the other ways it could have played out. A smoking barrel, her lifeless corpse bleeding out on the ground and Katie witnessing one of the heroes under her responsibility being shot dead. She won't forget this, this has been an eye opening lesson on so many levels. She hears a voice, almost incoherent from her senses being muffled by the shock of the last five minutes, which felt like hours. Is she okay? She had a gun to her head and it was her own fault. She just revealed the biggest secret of her life that has been the cause of so many panic attacks, moments of depression and so goddamn much emotional abuse that the true amount of severity is still unknown to Sharna. She traumatised an innocent soul, been technically told she is a horrible, selfish shell of a person and still it feels like nothing has changed to make things better. She is okay? She is not fucking okay.
"I'm fine..." She finally forces the words out as she stands up straight and wipes her wet eyes. Her voice is void of emotion, exhausted and hollow. A massive, obvious lie. She sees the care in Katie's features, she feels bad that she put her handler through all of this crap and she doesn't want to burden her any further with her bullshit, it isn't fair. She now knows one of her heroes is a victim of vicious blackmail and she almost got herself killed for emotionally breaking another. That's enough hard work for the day and shoving more her way is not something Sharna intends to do. she rests her hands on her hips and locks her eyes on the door, still wondering if Chloe is okay...
"What happens now?"

Ruby looked somewhat surprised for a moment. "Oh.." She conceded, pensively looking up. An electronics store was definitely more exiting than a pawn shop. She continued to fold her arms as she walked behind the others. Picking out gifts for people wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she decided to leave the mansion. "Maybe you can get her to rub it in my face, too." She said, sighing at the state of her own worthless mechip. "Just make sure that she knows who to thank for picking out the best one." She wanted to lead the way, but the fact that she didn't know the city very well kept her from doing so. Instead, she allowed the other two to lead the way in front of her.
After the group eventually made it in to the electronics store, Ruby watched as Night Terror tried to get the cashier's assistance with his own mechip. She scoffed at the boy's timidness before breaking away from the other two to explore the store. She was naturally drawn to all of the expensive things, but did keep an eye out for the upgrades that Crescendo requested. As he and Night Terror were still at the front of the store, Ruby was able to quickly recognize the name of the mechip's latest model. She smiled to herself, thinking that Crescendo would probably be pretty impressed with how quickly she was able to spot it. When she rose to the tips of her feet to grab it, though, she realized that it hung in the air far out of her reach. Not wanting the embarrassment of help from the adults, she desperately looked around for anything to stand on before one of them would eventually find her there in the back of the store. To her dismay, she found nothing. She continued to futilely grab for the package on its tall shelf.

Still waiting on the assistant's return Sven impatiently drummed his fingers on the counter. Looking around he spotted Ruby futilely reaching for a package on the top-shelf. He watched for a while curious to see if she'd get angry and lose control of her powers like in the interview his hand instinctually tightening around his new knife. After a bit longer he sighed the assistant was taking an annoyingly long-time and this was just tedious. Striding over he grabbed the package and thew it to her, perhaps a bit harder then necessary, before returning to wait impatiently at the counter. "You didn't have to be a dick about it." Said Intel causing Sven to grit his teeth, this really was beyond annoying now that assistant better return soon.

(OOC: DAMN IT I'M NOT LOSING ANOTHER RP TODAY! *Preps defibrillators*)
Alice finished painting the stripes with another giggle much to Queenie's delight. She finished her sketch of Harvey and was about to start colouring it in but he stopped her. "No, no Ladybug leave it, maybe are artistic friend will finish it some time..." She shrugged and headed downstairs to make some food. Smiley had told her they'd be fighting badguys at some point but it hadn't happened yet not that she minded she'd been getting on well with Music-man and Colours (along with all his sort-of-real friends) and even Glowey had been fun. She hoped to get a proper chance to talk to everyone else but for now she felt happier then she'd been for a long-time even despite Harvey being weird. She put some toast in the toaster like Smiley had taught her and started looking for some jam in the massive fridge.

Dylan was just watching some random movie when he heard some noise coming from the kitchen. He shrugged, pausing the movie and beginning to get up. It's been a while since he talked to somebody, seeing as how everyone was doing their own thing. From what he could tell from the noises upstairs, both Alex and Alice were upstairs. He silently prayed that it wasn't Alex as he made his way to the kitchen. Ever since he came, Alex gave him a look of bloody murder at him whenever he was near. Dylan knew it was because of Sharna, but there wasn't anything between Sharna and him. At least not enough to warrant Alex's animosity, in his opinion. Whatever the reason, he hoped it wasn't Alex.
As he went inside the kitchen, he noticed, to his reloef, that it was Alice inside. He hadn't spoken much to her, only knowing a few about her. He tried to not let the opinions from the news to cloud his opinions. After all, he's barely talked to her. He can't just form an opinion about her just like that! He purposefully walked with more force for a few steps so she noticed his prescence and doesn't get startled by him, before resuming his normal pace. "Hey! Good..." He glanced at a clock. "Afternoon! Get some good sleep?" He sat down on a chair near the counter, and after a few moments his eyes glew a bright blue as he focused on a cabinet in front of him. The door swung open as gravity pulled it back. Suddenly, a box of crackers flew back. With years of experience and practice, he expertly shifted the box of cracker's specific gravity to zero gravity. He let it float there for a few moments, before picking it out of the air, changing it's gravity back to normal, and took out a few crackers from it. His eyes dulled as he released control over the object's gravity, and began munching on some crackers.

Alice didn't seem at all surprised at Dylan's display of power. "Hi Mister Wizard!" She said cheerfully. At that moment the toaster popped and she fumbled with the two hot pieces of bread before managing to get them to a plate. "Colours is tired so while he's having a nap Harvey and me are getting a snack." She started spreading the jam on her toast. "Hey Mister Wizard I was thinking... have you fought many bad guys?" She asked watching him intently as she bit into her toast as even Harvey stopped making bunny ears behind him and cocked his ear to listen.

Dylan paid no mind to her obvious lack of suprise at his powers, and chowed down on his crackers. As Alice spoke he got up to the monster of a fridge to find some cheese slices. When she asked him a question, he paused for a moment, popping his head out from the fridge. "Well, yeah actually. I've been a hero for quite a while now, so I've fought tons." He grimaced, realizing his choice of words. "I must sound like I'm ancient. I'm not that old!" He gave a cheeky smile, before turning his attention back to his search for the lost cheese. "Why do you ask?" He asked, sifting through a mound of ingredients. He silently rejoiced when he finally found the cheese. He walked over to where Alice was eating and brought his snack with him.

"I...I don't really know what happens now" Katie admitted softly, locking eyes with Highlight and shrugging her shoulders. She hated to admit it, but she was truly at a loss as to what to do in this scenario; she really wanted to stay here and salvage the situation as was her job, and quite frankly her emotions were screaming at her to not allow such a situation to go unresolved in this manner. The pragmatist in her, however, knew the situation was most likely as far gone as it will go without some sort of intervention; Chloe's mother had made it very clear that she wouldn't budge on her position. Her protective instincts were ramped up too high, and barring some inspired way to get through to her or even to cut past her and talk to Chloe, she didn't see a way that she could break past the barrier. A mother terrified for her child's safety was terrifying, and Měyíng certainly was that. She couldn't really blame her, though; Katie couldn't even imagine the sheer amount of times when she would have had to protect Chloe from the outside world. Having such a unique mind fitted into the body of an ordinary woman wasn't a sure-fire recipe for success on any count. "I want to stay here." she announced to Highlight, outlining her feelings and concerns as they came across her mind. "I...I really don't want to leave it here; I know that this may be how the situation resolves, and I can't count the times when I've had to just cut my losses and walk away from a situation that I know can't be mended. But this one is different." she admitted with a deprecating laugh, running her hand over her face.
"There's got to be something, though." Katie spoke up suddenly after a few seconds of silence, her resolve bolstered by the thoughts of Chloe bawling her eyes out in her bed, her face morphing into one of business and action. "It's clear that there's no way that we're going to be able to go through Měyíng without being victims of serious bodily harm. But maybe there's a way that we can...get around it and talk to Chloe. We can't do it physically, but...she's connected to the Web, in all it's forms." she recalled, speaking as she pulled out her phone and held it in her hand, locking eyes with Highlight once more as she did so. "The only number I have on here is her mother's number, but is there anything that you can do to contact her personally? Any way of communicating at all?" she inquired, her mind instantly jumping to the various outlets that Chloe had integrated herself into; she didn't know exactly how any of it worked, or if they could contact her at all. She had noticed a security camera looking out onto the driveway of the house as soon as she walked up to it when she first came here; she had been hoping that Chloe had been watching through that, but this wasn't the time to rely on precautions.
"If there's nothing you can do through your phone, maybe you can contact somebody back at the house, or even one of your prior contacts. I don't know, but there's always another way. It's how the world hasn't been destroyed by supervillains by now." she remarked dryly. When she said 'contacts', she didn't even know what that meant herself, but she was speaking loosely rather deliberately. She still hadn't forgotten her confession about her past, but she'd made an executive decision to put that on the back burner for now; they had a much more pressing issue to be focusing on right now. As personal as her problem was, it wasn't urgent. They'd certainly be having a conversation when they returned, and everything had returned to relative normalcy as far as things looked like they would go right now, but in this moment, they had a job to do.
"So, any ideas?" she asked, her tone businesslike with a hint of a sardonic smirk gracing her features. This was one fucked up day; she would need a lot of alcohol before it was done.

Alice laughed. "Don't worry you're not old compared to Smiley; Harvey says when he was born there were still saber-tooths around!" She munched on her toast watching him carefully as he approached to make sure he didn't accidentally touch her as clearly people around here didn't know the rules like they did back at the Home. "I've never been in a real fight before, One-eye trained me really hard but he said even that wasn't the same as a real fight." Harvey started doing a One-eye impression closing his left-eye and putting on a Texan accent. "So I've never seriously hurt anyone before... well not on purpose." She said with a wince remembering her family. "Does it feel bad? Hurting people even though you know they're bad?"

Dylan laughed along with Alice as she spoke of Smiley. He had no idea who Smiley was, but he sounded like a pretty good guy. He listened intently as he put his cheese on top of is crackers, and immediately devouring it. He hadn't realized how hungry he was. "At first, yeah it did feel bad. I tried my hardest not to cause too much injury to them. Even today, I still try to! Although, when I have no other option but to fight, I just remember all they've hurt, all the pain they caused. He smiled weakly, his mind flashing back to what happened when he tried to use his powers at first. All that pain. Caused by me... He stopped that train of thought before it came to fruition, and once again his face became cheerful. He focused on the crackers below him, eating them quickly, until he realized he ate them all. "Dangit. I ate them all." He threw a fake pout as he moved over to the fridge, finding something else to eat.

The assistant finally returned the counter. Sven stared at her. "Well?" She swallowed nervously. "Ummmm I'm sorry sir but we couldn't find anything wrong with your Me-Chip we could offer a replacement if you like?" Sven ground his teeth, Intel had important data he didn't want to risk losing it by replacing her. "No." He growled and simply left with a nod to Crescendo and a glare at Livewire.
Outside the store he stepped into an alley's shadow and seemed to melt into it. He began to make his way through the shadow-plane. It was hard to describe how he travelled this way he could somehow "see" both the shadow-plane and the outside world although none of his other senses seemed to function save for his sense of touch which just felt a cold numbness. He didn't even move using his muscles, honestly he wasn't sure he still had a body the plane was so absent of light that he couldn't see it, but controlled his movement with his mind. Sometimes he felt like there was something out in the dark watching him but shook it off as being his imagination.
When he got back to the mansion he stepped out of the shadows to quickly grab some fruit from the kitchen ignoring those already there before returning to the shadows and returns to his room.

“Okay, okay baby we won’t ever try to attempt to get rid of your MeChip Nightie.” Desmon watches as he leaves the store. Turning over towards Crescendo and Ruby “Well now I have to dash my friends don’t wait up for me.” *flash* Disappearing in a flash of blue the lights of the store start to flicker repeatedly. Traveling through the currents of electricity Desmon starts talking to himself “Hey when is this going to be done and over with?” again talking to himself “In due time it’ll be done till then I’ll have to wait.” Reappearing back in his room, Desmon takes out some of his equipment this time I’ll finish up the upgrades that my mask needs this will hopefully give off a different feeling about me and this time, I will not let diamondhead talk smack about me this time.
Laying back down in his bed, “Shit I hope this place will work out in the end.” Mei pops up in front of him “You have a incoming message from Michael V.” she says. Thanking her Desmon navigates to his messages “Hey saw you last night my friend! It seems like you’re getting adjusted to this seeing how what happen before. Seems like Lyndall Stratus is picking you apart sin by sin lol. But don’t let her keep you down and remember make some friends and keep those positive vibes flowing.” Desmon grinned at the message, He was one of his best friends growing up they both were little hellions but they were but friends. They did drift apart from each other when Des got into villainy and when Michael started her hero career and decided to change her life up. But Des still liked him regardless of what they did, finishing up on the upgrades Des starts to drift off to sleep.

Alice didn't even blink this time as Sven appeared and just as quickly disappeared. "But I've hurt people, a lot of people, not on purpose but still... no one hurt me." She said moving out of Wizard's way to make sure they didn't touch. "So why is it different?"

Sharna nods to Katie's conviction to keep trying. She's right, there must be something else they can do. Chloe's mother made it very clear that there's no way they can get to her daughter without putting their health in danger. She thinks on Katie's words on how they can communicate with Chloe. It is not a move without risk. She's unsure how closely her mother is watching over her right now and she catches her and Katie talking to her in some way or form, she will be out this door again and this time unload every shell in that shotgun into their bodies... But she isn't going to turn back now, she must speak to Chloe.
She begins pace a little, eyes closed while in thought.. Regarding her phone, she doubts Chloe carries one around with her much since it would be pointless, being able to link herself to link and crossroad of the Web and you wouldn't need a phone to keep track of it. She is starting to regret not bringing the phone the technopath transported through back in her room, that could have had some sort of way to get to her directly, but she will never know now. It instead lays on the floor inside her assigned room's door with the note she wrote out. She then moves onto her own personal contacts if they could help. Thanks to her fame, Sharna is connected with a lot of people of interest and skill and would be more than willing to her a favour. But they're strangers to Chloe, she has a hard time communicating with the people she will be living alongside in the mansion let alone somebody completely alien and Sue doesn't want to put her under anymore stress. She thinks about calling Denise, her old mentor, for any advice. She always had wise words to offer in these situations and Sharna has always looked up to the retired hero with great respect. Perhaps Chloe would too?... No, no... It does not matter of her reputation or relation to Sharna and many other heroes of today, she is still a stranger and will be treated as such. There are people who could give Sharna a way to contacting Chloe first with their own computer skills. But then, that's an invasion of privacy and it may upset her or she would shut them out completely before they ever get close to opening a little back door.
Sharna sighs in frustration and exhaustion, bring a hand to the side of her head and curling and purple strand of hair between her fingers, something she does quite commonly when stressed. She looks up for a moment and spots a security camera... Suddenly, she has an idea. Like Katie said, Chloe is connected to the Web in all forms, security cameras these days use the internet to wirelessly connect to their assigned monitors and such. She remembers back in her room when Chloe noted that colourful hero was crying.. She must have been looking through the cameras in her room spotting it and if luck is on their side, she maybe watching the whole commotion that happened a minute ago. Instead of creating a link of communication, Sharna is going to invite Chloe to talk with them, her own free will deciding. She activates her MeChip messenger and projects it into a hologram floating above her wrist so Katie and the camera, hopefully with Chloe behind it, can see. She can communicate through here, she wouldn't have to face them in person and provides her a little more comfort that she won't be near Sharna when they talk.
She looks back up to the camera and smiles kindly before waving, hoping to indicate to the technopath that Sharna is not mad at her, nor is she here to tell St her again. She holds her MeChip wrist up a little so it can be seen clearer and points to the holographic image of a messenger tab. Sharna prays that she will understand her offer and if Chloe is even watching through the camera at all. She has everything riding on this.

Dylan's seen too many weird things to be suprised by Sven's sudden entrance and exit, so he dismissed it casually. He turned back torwards Alice, remembering to keep space between them. In his hand held some water. He sat back down, thinking about Alice's question. It had caught him off guard, that was for sure. Finally, he spoke. "I assume your talking about hurting someone intentionally and unintentionally. Well, the difference, I suppose, is that when you do it intentionally chances are the person you're doing it to deserves it. At least most do." As he spoke his face took on a more thoughtful look. He took a sip from his water, before asking his question. "Hey, wasn't Alex upstairs with you? It sounds pretty quiet upstairs." He asked casually, getting up from his seat. Truth be told, he was getting a tad bored sitting around the mansion. He began thinking of what to do, when he noticed the outline of his sister in a shadow on the wall. He stared at the shadow for a second, before turning away and looking back at Alice. "So what do want to do? Because, frankly, I'm bored." He wanted to get as far away from his "sister" as possible.

Alice thought about his answer for a bit. It made sense she supposed. "Yeah Colours is really tired I was playing with Queenie for a bit and he went to sleep." She giggled. "He's in for a surprise when he wakes up though... I made him look beautiful!" Wizard seemed to stare off into the distance for a bit but she could hardly blame him for that, she did it all the time. "Do you want to come train with me? I know where the gym is!" She scampered off beckoning for him to follow.

Dylan laughed along with her as she mentioned making Alex look beautiful. He thanked the gods that she didn't seem to notice his staring off. Either that, or she just dismissed it. Either way it would've been a little difficult to explain that he was hallucinating about his supposedly dead sister. As Alice scampered toward the gym, Dylan followed swiftly. He already had been to the gym earlier that day so he didn't need to follow her from behind.
It took a short while for them to head to the gym. Once there, he began to stretch. Sitting on a chair for most of e morning wasn't the best warm-up in the world. "So, what would you like to do?" He thought for a t, before resuming. "Didn't you say that you were training with someone named One-Eye? How about I help train you in that? My grav-powers can help pretty well with resistant workouts." He sat up, moving torwards a rack full of equipment. He took some body armor for protection. He decided a staff was the best weapon considering Alice's powers. He picked up a staff from the rack, and asked behind him, "What weapon would you like?".

Alice pointed at her bo-staff on the rack lad that he'd already put on the special armour. "Looks like we both use staffs Mr Wizard but I can't do magic with mine..." She smiled. "Yeah One-eye didn't have powers so I don't know how to fight against them very well..."
