It was a peaceful night on Eden. A cool breeze causes the branches of the trees in the forest to sway. Flashes of light streak across the sky. These objects didn't seem to burn up however as they landed gently close to the village of the Dontarie. The curious eyes of the residents stare in awe at the shuttles. The chief, a five foot tall reptilian woman, spear in hand, cautiously approached the newly landed shuttles. It held its spear with shaking hands, it stops and speaks in its click and hiss sort of way, "What are you?"
Meanwhile, inside of the shuttle, the pilots of the runefang were beginning to awaken. Their stomach contents quickly being emptied so they could cleanse their bodies of the chemicals needed to keep them alive.

As the first pilot finishes wretching on the floor Runefang A.I, call sign Crow comes online. "Ghost reporting." It's body rises from its position strapped against the wall. It glances once towards the human male beginning to rise. "Commander Calvin." It says with a deep gravelly voice. Originally it was voiced by a man named Liam O'Brien, a man from the twenty first century.
It had struck the command staff on Earth as rather odd that Calvin had wanted this particular A.I personality. However, seeing no harm in this odd nod to eccentricity they allowed it. They built an A.I construct who's sole purpose is to keep the Pilots alive, no matter the cost. Beyond that they created a thinking machine, one of the last things human ingenuity devised. Since it's bone structure is built from reinforced titanium it allows for Crow to wield heavier weapons and wear heavier armour than humans can. The rest of his body is made of soft tissue almost identical to humans. It is able to eat biological matter and convert it into energy via an advanced power system within the robot. In this sense Crow will be able to live forever as long as it has biological matter nearby.
"The ship has suffered minor damage upon entering the planet's orbit. Though the rest of the Runefangs seem to have landed with only minor damage. Atmospheric readings say that the air is breathable. Scans show life forms in front of the ship. Give me the word and I'll take em down."

The rush of being brought back to the waking world is extreme. Raven gasp for breathe as his body is flushed, his vision returning he hears the voice of his old friend. Listening to the report he tries to stretch as much as he can from the confines of his ship. He looks around getting his bearings, he nods a look at Crow. Fully armored and ready to kill, was Crow's stand by mode after all these years he must be jumpy.
"Negative." Raven speaks his voice trying to remember how it sounds. Open comm channels to the outside we can try to communicate will I get into the Runefang. Also send a ping to any nearby shuttles, we need to find a commanding officer before me make any rash decisions." He states nearly bored as if he was reading a script to a play he didn't want to be in. "Also run a diagnostic scan on the Runefang and it's weapon systems. I want to be ready when the order is given." He finishes looking around the shuttle. Pull up these life forms on screen.
A monitor turns on showing some sort of lizard like creature holding a spear. Seems this planet can host D class life forms, beings capable of advanced thought but still stuck in a tribal like society. Raven sighs while looking at Crow these lifeforms weren't a threat just curious it seems. True to his form Crow was ready to destroy them without a seconds warning. Raven and Crow have been a spotting team for years, they have over 200 confirmed kills, counting organics and non-organics. They are two bodies, but one mind able to almost see through each others eyes when it come combat. On a personal level they couldn't be farther apart, Crow was the badass soldier Raven wanted to be. Quick with a one liner right as pulled the trigger ending somethings life. Raven however liked to just be by himself read or watch movies from the old days. Though who knows what happened to Earth since he's been asleep. His personal collection is all that may exist in the universe of human culture.
"My name is Calvin Jefferson. Private first class of the human defense force. Currently we have no intentions of harming you or your people." He states hoping for a miracle these things speak English, as he speaks through his shuttles external speakers. Pressing a few buttons he turns on the ship's broadcast system sending a message to any others around. "This is Calvin Jefferson private first class. I have made contact with an alien species please advise." He ends the message by send out his current coordinates. He sits and waits from a response from both the unknown and the being outside.

Crow sighed, lowering his weapon. "Here I had hoped you'd let me stretch my legs a bit. Been far too long that we've been out of commission. Here," He tossed a granola bar to his pilot. "Get some food in your system. You'll need it when your brain begins to register your lack of calorie intake for such a long period of time."
Particles flash in front of his eyes as he runs a diagnostic check on the Runefang. "Our toy is still operational. Been damn near the only thing I could do when I wake up to make sure we're still alive. With you in the ice box it made me almost go mad. Countless years roll by without me killing anything or detonating a single nuclear weapon. Could bring a tear to my eye."
-Outside of the shuttle.-
The giant metal beast begins to roar at them. It's words are just mash up of random sounds to the Dotarie. However it's intent seems clear enough. Chieftess Tislak stands firm as it attempts to intimidate the lone Dontarie. "What are you doing here?" She asks again in a series of clicks and growls. Truth be told, she was terrified of this horrible thing.

Allana jumps from branch to branch quickly traversing the forest occasionally using her wings to extend her leaps. The tribe's shaman had predicted five years ago that "When the stars fall from the sky destruction will come to the tribes of the Great Forest." She would not allow that to happen. The lights had looked to be headed for the Dotaire village, an uneasy truce had been held between their tribes ever since the end of the last war two years ago but if the prophecy was true they might have been destroyed already. Allana reaches the edge of the forest and begins sprinting over the flat plains towards the village.
She stops shocked just a little bit outside the village. Two giants towered over a lone Dontarie. One was black as night with white wings sprouting from its back it reminded her of a bird she'd once seen over the grey cliffs but the bird hadn't been this large. She didn't recognize any weapons but they might just be hiding them. She hunkered down behind a hut and drew her swords being careful not to make a sound.
She'd secreted her swords herself when she reached maturity the life liquid that she'd spent six months carefully hardening and shaping the life liquid that had been released from her egg sacs into her twin swords "Speed" and "Strength". Her parents had been disappointed her mother in particular had wanted her to harden her liquid into a pot so she could make "a good wife" but Allana had no interest in becoming a servant to some arrogant male when she knew she was twice the warrior any of them were and had proved it in battle countless times over the last six years earning her the blood-name "Green Death" for the color of her carapace. The only one who could match her was Roggo the tribe's chief warrior who had hardened his life liquid into a greatsword almost as tall as he was. He was always insisting that she stay in camp and cook for "the true warriors" one of these days she was going to cut his head off but for now she waited for the giants to act.

Edward decided that, on reflection, cyro sucked. Seriously sucked. This was worse than any hangover he'd ever experienced. Not surprising really, given that this stuff had been percolating through his system for nearly six million years. He started trying to convert the newly current year into hexadecimal, anything to keep his mind off the waves of nausea still rolling through him. Mercifully, after a few minutes, the worst of it receded and he was able to stumble over to a terminal and begin the boot-up sequence for his Claymore. While the Mech began to rumble behind him as its fusion core came online, Edward focused again on the terminal. Noticing that the terminal was receiving a message from another shuttle, he set the message to play and listened intently.
It was good to hear that Raven had made it down safely. The guy was something of a hardass, but was exactly the kind of person you wanted next to you in a firefight. Plus it didn't hurt that they had shared fondness for old music. Though Raven really seemed to like any old media, whereas Edward enjoyed music regardless of the age. Still it had been a useful ice-breaker when he had first been introduced to the slightly shorter, but way more intimidating man.
Setting his terminal to transmit on the same frequency he responded, "This is Engineer Kerensky. Good to hear you made it down in one piece Raven. Do you need assistance?"
Then it hit him, "Wait, did you say aliens?"

"What, no hello?" Says a voice from behind Edward. Behind him stands Hatsune her hands planted on her hips. Her blue hair trailing down behind her to her knees. This unit specifically, made the Scottish officials for RuneFang scratch their heads in confusion. As with Crow however, they went ahead with its creation. Maybe it would come in handy some time in the future? She sighed and shook her head in disappointment.
"Six million years and you didn't even notice me. Shows what kind of creator you are." She stretched her torso to the side until she felt something pop in her back. "That feels better. Say that's Calvin there isn't it? I wonder if the rest of the crew made it." She checked her sensors. "The rest of the A.I are active, and the life signs are positive for each crew member..." She frowned for a moment. "Except Shin and Delta." Shin was Korea's representative in this project.

Edward looked up at Miku and smirked, "Well you know, six million years on your own, I figured there was a chance you might have come to some unfortunate conclusions about humanity. So I decided to start up the Runefang first. You know, just in case." He smiled, the banter reassuringly familiar in this new and unfamiliar land.
His smile faded as Miku mentioned the fate of Shin and Delta. "Dammit. We knew there were risks, but it doesn't make it any easier to hear." Pushing his remorse to one side, he focused on the situation. "Any idea what destroyed them? Raven mentioned locals. And if they can destroy a shuttle then we might have problems."

BK 0-145 comes down crushing to the ground below it a couple 100 meters away from Edward and Calvin upon Kahn's systems come roaring to life Bastion's voice sings a small bit for when her pilot awakes from his frozen slumber. The chems that kept him alive for those many long cold years drain out of his body waking up from his slumber opening his eyes up for gods know how many years. Benedict wakes up to Bastion's song with her stopping she says to him "So how does it feel to be awake after some many years Mattix?" moving his hands for the first time in years a joy overcomes him he yells "It feels amazing Bastion! And were finally on eden a real alien plant to top it off the things that can be discovered here are going to exciting to uncover what's on this planet." Bastion overcome with his answer makes a happy sounding beep well Bastion may sound like Luka but he did leave over some of Bastion's original voice lines.
Finally moving out of his capsule he makes his way over to his locker to receive his gun, bow, cane, and his windsor sunglasses having gathered his things Ben sets them down so that he can get something to eat so that he can have something inside his belly since well it's been so long. Grabbing a couple of snack bars and some water he starts to drink while he goes over to the ploits cabin to check where the others have landed at on this planet.

"That's the thing though. I don't know what happened. Reviewing the logs it doesn't look like their ship was destroyed but from what I'm seeing it looks like space debris knocked it off course. The ship was separated from our group and continued on. Before the computer moved out of range to signal our ship I received a video from Delta. Here let me show you." She moves the file from her memory banks to the ship's terminal. On the screen it showed the ship veering off course until it's engines were kicked on to readjust its trajectory.
"From what I can guess, it looks like they managed to realign themselves with Eden. However, given their enhanced speed, they would've reached Eden two million years before we did." Her eyes widened at the realization that he had just said the word aliens a few moments ago. "The aliens, what do they look like Calvin?" Shin was a biologist unequalled by any on Earth. If he could've somehow spliced his DNA with indigenous life on this planet...

"Alright, finishing up patrol. Back in a few." Ranik said to one of his numerous tech on his arms. Than he saw a strange thing. Multiple streaks were in the sky, and moving fast. There wasn't supposed to be a meyeor shower today! He scanned the area, and was shocked to find multiple heat signatures and some electrical signatures. Well... thats odd. He engaged his stealth mode and decided to move up.

Her eyes quickly scanning the screen filled with walls of code, each wall going by blindingly fast, she felt her fingers effortlessly keep up with the speed of the code on the keyboard, sitting upright in the chair in the shuttle's main control area, configuring their already softening descent. She'd already configured the majority of it automatically, but she preferred to manually complete the calculations sometimes. She remembered that it made most of the humans she'd met more at ease than her usual method of calculating petabytes of data in seconds. Keeping her eyes fixed on the walls of code, she made a note to wake up the rest of the crew at a later interval; when she had fully assessed the situation below, then it would be more prudent to wake them from their cryo-sleep and introduce them to their new land; she had been monitoring signals on the surface of the planet. It seems some had already arrived and sending out signals. She analysed how her crew would respond; based on their personalities, she categorically analysed the most likely ways in which they would respond once they did wake up; most would be ready to face the world, but some of them may have averse reactions. As the shuttle gently touched down on the surface of the planet, she monitored somebody stumbling into the bathroom; her body that she had been given allowed her free roam to move about as she wished, but she was also constantly and completely connected and linked to the ship and all of its functions, the most notable of which right now was the sound of microphones in the bathroom picking up loud retching and vomiting sounds. Finding herself demonstrating one of her favourite human biological responses and sighing in slight resignment, she swiftly stood up from her chair and headed down towards the bathroom, still carrying on the mental calculations she had abandoned in her cognitive processors linked to the ship. Reaching the bathroom a minute or so later and still hearing the sounds of retching from the bathroom, she used her connection to the ship to override the lock on the door, watching it smoothly slide open to reveal a diminutive blonde woman curled over the toilet, her sounds of heaving all the more prevalent.
"Dr. Barnes, if you'd like I can-" She began courteously, only to be cut off by the diminutive woman vomiting again into the toilet, making somewhat exaggerated groaning sounds and not looking at the woman standing in the doorway. "Dr. Barnes, I did warn you not to be too active once you were awoken from your cryo-sleep." She continued after waiting patiently for a few seconds to see if the silence would be interrupted again and placing both her hands professionally behind her back. "I informed you that I would assist you to make sure that you were in adequate physical condition."
"I didn't hear you tell anybody else to take it easy when we left." Came a muffled, pathetic voice from the toilet-bowl, the small woman still refusing to look up from the bowl in fear of vomiting all over the floor and the woman standing in the doorway.
"Because nobody else quite has your rather unfortunate combination of a relatively weak immune system and reckless tenacity to prove you aren't a weakling, I would imagine." She responded calmly, still fixing her eyes on the woman hunched over the toilet-bowl and heaving loudly. "The rest of the crew haven't been woken up yet; I thought it best to allow you time to acclimate." She continued, observing the wounded pride in the hurt eyes of the small woman as she pulled herself off of the toilet-bowl and slumped against the bathroom wall, looking up at the woman in the doorway with pathetic determination.
"I...don't need special treatment." She spoke up after a few seconds, valiantly trying to sound final and feeling her expression drop as her demand only came out sounding pathetic and small.
"I'm sure you don't, but I'm here to help you, Charlotte." Jennifer shot back, the picture of calm as she locked eyes with the woman slumped across the bathroom floor. "Whatever that may entail. If you are under my care, I must advise you once again that I will not accommodate your pride at the loss of your health; I would be remiss in my duties to both my directive and to you, should I ever carry out such actions." She continued, her voice still as steady and serene as it was when she entered, completely unperturbed by the situation. Watching as the woman shrank in on herself slightly as she talked, she felt what humans would likely refer to as relief when the woman pulled herself up off of the floor and stood on her feet, her legs wobbling slightly as she stood in place, looking even smaller than she was.
"I hate it when you use my first name." She grumbled slightly, crossing her arms childishly and averting her gaze from the woman in the doorway towering over her by over a foot.
"Do not deliberately neglect your health, and I will refrain from doing so in the future. You know the rules, Dr. Barnes." Jennifer responded with a hint of sarcasm in her voice, stepping aside to let the miniature woman step through the door, her outstretched arm leading the way to the medical bay. Falling into her usual stride as the small woman struggled to keep up, they rounded the corner on the way to medical as they both heard the loud flushing of a toilet in the bathroom that they had just left. After several instances of Jennifer having to slow down to accommodate for Dr. Barnes' tiny frame, they both entered the medical bay where Charlotte grumpily went to sit down in a chair as Jennifer fished out some small pills from the medical supplies on the other side of the room, simultaneously commanding the ship to fill up a plastic cup underneath the water dispenser with fresh water. Taking out a few of the pills and closing the drawer, she turned around and easily grabbed the water in her other hand without spilling a drop before heading back over to the quiet woman in the chair, placing the water and the pills on the desk next to her as the small woman fixed the A.I. with a pleading stare, one that she met in turn with an unimpressed expression.
"Do I have to-"
"-You are a woman of science, are you not?" Jennifer challenged, cutting her small companion off with a somewhat exasperated tone. "You've just woken up from cryo-sleep, your metabolism will be going haywire after being pumped with chemicals for such a long time and then cleansed with little to no exposure to sustenance or disease. The chemicals have reinforced your immunity to such things, but since you're more sickly than most, you need a little boost." She explained to Dr. Barnes, watching the hope slowly fade from her face as she realised she wasn't getting out of this. "Take them. Now." She warned softly, her concerned gaze betraying her stern tone. Turning away as the petite woman glumly began to close her hand over the pills, she moved the signal from the other shuttle to the forefront of her mind now that her immediate concerns had been dealt with for the time being; accessing the signal communicator, she linked herself into the channel.
"Any pilots whom may be listening to this frequency that I have patched myself into, I am reporting from the Kamar-Taj." She began in an authoritative tone, pointedly ignoring Dr. Barnes looking up at her in confusion for a few seconds, her mouth full with the pills. "We've just recently landed; the descent was uneventful, and I currently have one crewmember awake from cryo-sleep. According to the signal, we appear to be around 200m south of your position. Is anybody able to respond?" She asked, before delegating the open signal to one of the many hundreds of windows open in her neural processors and turning around where she stood. Observing the small woman currently in an environmental suit that she was uncomfortably tugging at, she headed over and held out her hand for the small woman once she was sure that she had consumed the pills she was given. Once she took her hand in hesitant surprise, Jennifer effortlessly lifted her up onto her feet and motioned with her head to exit the medical bay with her in search of her locker; most of them were allowed to bring one set of clothing with them to make the change more bearable. If she knew Dr. Barnes, the 'set' would likely consist of a t-shirt and a shirt to wear over it, jeans and some 'vintage' high-top Converse shoes from centuries ago. Aware of the Dr. Barnes' gaze fixed on her as she walked and still running calculations with the signal tab open, they both strode smoothly out of the door and headed right towards the lockers, the diminutive woman barely keeping up as usual.

Edward was busy trying to process the ramifications of what Miku had implied, when the communicator flared back into life. After listening to the message from the Kamar-Taj, he set the communicator to transmit and responded, "Kamar-Taj, this is Engineer Kerensky, we are receiving you. We have touched down safely and Miku has detected all Runefang teams with the exception of Shin and Delta. PFC Jefferson has encountered natives and unless you have immediate need of us, we plan to move to support him."
He paused slightly before continuing, "Miku also has a theory regarding the fate of Shin and Delta, we'll transmit the details once we are en route." After that he climbed up into the pilot seat of the Claymore, Miku already ensconced in the co-pilot seat from where she could interface with their rangefinder and electronic warfare suites. Finishing the last few pre-launch checks, he could feel the gyroscopes that maintained the mech's balance whir into life, before he pushed forward on the controls, bringing the Runefang out of its bay and towards the door of the shuttle.
Arriving in front of the shuttle doors, he killed the mech's forward movement, "Wait. We're about set foot onto a brave new world. I believe one of us is supposed to utter some kind of profound statement at this point." After a couple of seconds where no profundity sprung to mind he shrugged, "Ah to hell with this" before keying in the command to open the shuttle bay. As doors slid open the Claymore strode out into the twilight.
"Let's go see what trouble we can get into."

A brief connection between the two synthetic beings is triggered by Miku. "Good you head from you again, chief. How is your charge handling the reawakening?" Without much incentive or even much coercing, the synthetics seemed to all agree that Jennifer was the defacto commander in chief when it comes to the non organic side of the mission. Though Crow was older than Jenny, even he couldn't help but admit that she was the one in charge. "I take it life signs are still good for the crew still in cryo. Orders on how to engage the wildlife that we may meet?"
While that conversation was going on she surveyed their surroundings as the Claymore cut a swathe through the land, towards their target. "Edward, keep an eye out for the locals. Calvin reported them being of a lesser technological state than we are, still there may be other beings far more advanced than these."
-at the Dontarie village.-
The ground shook like an earthquake was ripping the land asunder. Something was approaching, Tislak's legs began to buckle as fear gripped her. "Oh gods.."

"Crow activate your stealth field generator, sneak out the back hatch of the shuttle. I want you to get a vantage point, and put your eyes on the village. I want a head count on how many natives we have. Also check for other species, they may have domesticated animals, or perhaps another species has risen to their level." Raven states in a calm matter while he finishes his meal. "I'll activate Angel." He looks at his mech a feeling of nostalgia takes over him. "Your thermal vision should making counting a breeze. Remember do not attack unless I give the order no matter what. You are dismissed." Raven walks to the mech, and pulls himself inside.
Settling in he turns on the main computer. A screen pops up and text scrolls by "Cast in the name of God..." Raven put this security system just in case, a green laser scans the room it recognizes his DNA and stops the scan. "Ye not guilty." He says back to him as the machine comes back to life. It takes a few moments for the machine to start up so Raven looks around. The interior is just how he left it, reaching below his seat he finds his old P33 bolter, the sidearm he owes his life too. Next to it is a duffle bag upon inspection it was all his belongings he wasn't allowed to bring with him. A small smile crosses his face knowing Crow must have set that up. Above him was an old Polaroid he had taken of him and Crow when he first graduated from the academy. Crow has his arm rested around Raven's neck while the young boy of just fifteen is showing a peace sign with the biggest smile he's ever had in his life. He pulls it down and on the back he reads 'The last thing you'll never see.' written in his hand writing. It was something Crow said once, Raven loved it always remembering his one liners made him always happy.
"Sharing my screen so you can get a look for yourselves." Raven states to let the others know. He begins to move Angel she's walking funny, but it'll be ok for now. "Engineer Angel's left leg seems to be sticking I'll need you to look at that when we meet up with HQ." He walks towards the strange creature while activating his night vision he begins to commentate. "This being speaks in clicking noises, so it's trying to make contact. Either some sort of leader or perhaps just the bravest one." He gets within thirty meters of the alien, placing his rifle gently on the ground he kneels while extending his right hand out towards it. Through his speakers he tries to communicate in a more peaceful tone. "I am Private first class Calvin Jefferson call sign Raven. We are the last remnants of the human race sent on a mission to find a new home." He sighs internally talking to people is annoying enough, but this was on a whole new level. "As of this time we are not here to harm you."
Raven waits for a response while also keeping an ear out for Crow and the others. He activates his external lights to give a more impressive first encounter. He heard Edward start to chatter something about famous first words. Some people don't grasp the seriousness of the situation, and that always bothered Raven.
"Engineer please keep all non-mission critical communications to a minimum." He states boredly making sure that he wasn't scolding him. Edward was a good mechanic, his music collection was what Raven cared about more so it is nice to have him around. His AI on the other hand made him physically cringe when she talked to him, part of him thinks she knows that too.

Crow sighs as he's told what to do. "I swear, you just don't like letting me have fun do you?" He says with a shrug, indicating he'd do as he was asked. He'd grown used to being on the front lines so with this long stretch of inactivity has him restless." But fine, I'll keep the scalies bottled up if they attempt anything." With that he activates his stealth field, causing the light to distort around him rendering him completely invisible. He climbed to back hatch and carefully crept up to the top of the ship. From there he surveys the village. "Fifty tangos like clicky in front of you. Some of different body structure and size. Likely males and children. Another creature, is watching you. Looks like a human and a mantis were fused."
Tislak watched in horror as a massive beast made of dull metal steps out of the other metal creature. When it lowers its club and kneels she can't imagine what is happening. Is it surrendering to her? Is it...is it a messenger from the gods? From the all mother herself? The divine beings words were too complex for her to make out. Though it seemed to put emphasis on the words Calvin Jefferson. Was that the angels name? She had to assume it was. She put her hand against her chest and tried to speak like the angel. "Tislak." It came off sounding like she was trying to gargle rocks. She then placed her hand lightly on the Runefang. "Calvin Jefferson?" She said with as best of a recreation as the angel said it. Still, her lack of lips meant that she wasn't able to form certain letters.

Edward flushed in embarrassment when he realised that his com was still open and his joking suggestion of famous first words had been transmitted over the com network. "First words on a new planet, and they're a mic gaffe. Oh well, begin as you mean to go on right?" He thought, even as he could practically hear Miku smirking behind him.
Locking onto the location of Raven's Runefang, he pushed east towards them, enjoying the sensation of controlling a mech once again. Coming into range of Raven's landing site, he spotted a nearby hill that would be ideal for providing covering fire for Raven should that become necessary. Halting his position atop the hill, Edward decided to follow Raven's lead in dealing with these aliens and settled in to observe and wait for the situation to develop.

Miku couldn't help but play one of her songs while they waited for new developments in the current situation. "Hey, Eddy, how you feeling? You haven't talked much about what happened." There is concern in her voice, like each of the synthetics, their prime directive was to ensure both the physical and mental well being of their pilot. She was worried about how he was taking the loss of their home planet. There were many people that her pilot knew that weren't given the opportunity to come into space. The loss has to be weighing on him.
From their new vantage point, they were able to clearly see the conversation between Calvin and the lizard woman. She was also able to detect the electrical signature of Crow on top of the shuttle. Crow sends the equivalent of an electrical nod of the head, to show he sees her. Tislak however snaps her head to the other massive titan watching the village. She takes a step back and begins to cut her eyes between the newcomer and Calvin. She releases her grip on her spear and let's it clatter to the ground. She begins to rabidly click and hiss. "Please, don't harm them. We don't want any trouble."

Edward closed his eyes and simply enjoyed the song for a few seconds before replying, "Honestly? The loss of Earth doesn't trouble me as much as it probably should. It's too big, too abstract, for me to really wrap my head around. As for my friends and family? We all knew that once I went into cyro we'd never see each other again. Even if humanity survived the growing catastrophe on Earth, I was still going to be on ice for more than twice as long as humanity had existed at that point. And there's nothing I can do to change that. The best thing I can do to honour their memories is to do everything in my power to ensure that we do a better job building a civilisation here on this planet than we did on our last."
Tearing himself away from this introspection, he retuned his attention to the view in front of him, and noticed that the alien had noticed his mech and was starting to panic (provided that his understanding of alien body language was correct.) Noticing that Raven had placed his gauss rifle on the ground and was kneeling in an attempt to make his Runefang seem less threatening, Edward decided to mimic his actions, placing his rifle on the ground and kneeling down, all the while hoping that they didn't mistake this as the firing position for the mortar clearly protruding from behind the Claymore's left shoulder.

Interesting... Renic was getting multiple heat signatures. He was going to have to investigate further. In the distance he saw three beings, which was rather exciting! First contact since The Old Empire fell! Renic came a little closer and saw that one was a being, most likely robotic, and the two others seemed to look too vastly different to be a part of the same species. The insectoid looked rather frightened, but he'll need a better vantage point. Well, he thought, what better vantage point than being right there? He pressed a few buttons and a holographic display showed up. Suddenly, footage came up along with some typing in another language.
He had hacked the robotic being to see through its cameras and to get more information, hopefully he hadn't activated a firewall...However in this case the benefits far outway the cost.

A smaller creature had climbed out of the larger one! What madness was this? Certainly sometimes the tribe rode the Ithcin Queens but never anything like this. Alanna gripped her swords tighter taking comfort from the solid familiarity of their hilts. She began to sneak closer stalking from building to building so that she could be close enough to strike swiftly if the demon displayed hostility.

"Eddy..." Her voice full of sympathy, she herself was disheartened by the fact that Earth, her birthplace, was likely gone. However, unlike Eddy she could shut off her emotional matrix if they began to interfere with her prime directive. "We will do better, we will make this planet into something we can be proud of." Not long after this she felt something tickling at the back of her senses. Suddenly her eyes cut in different directions without her telling them to. Panic begins to register in her voice."What's going on?!" She begins emitting a series of beeps over her connection to other Synthetics. "S.O.S. Being hacked." She shouted to Eddy, "Weapons hot, I'm being targeted by a ciber attack. Target behind us."
Crow:"On it. Targets in the tree line . I'm taking the shot." There was a faint glow of purple energy on top of the ship before a bright blast of energy shoots towards the direction of the hacker. Unfortunately, the shot goes wide as his target hits the ground.

"Not as such, Kerensky." She announced out loud as she strode through the corridor with Dr. Barnes at her side. "We can take care of ourselves; do what you need to do." She finished, remotely disconnecting the link between them as she turned left into a room, the door automatically and smoothly sliding open to reveal a somewhat bare room, with equipment on one side of the room and lockers on the other side, fixed against the wall. Striding over to a locker on the far side of the room and standing in front of it, aware of the diminutive woman standing awkwardly behind her, she remotely overrode the passcode to the locker in front of her, hearing the lock click softly. Reaching out and pulling the locker open, she stood to the side to allow Dr. Barnes to observe the clothes in the locker; her usual clothes back on Earth to be sure. Aware of the small woman starting to look at her somewhat nervously, she recalled the human idiosyncrasy of humility and concluding that Dr. Barnes obviously didn't want her present during her change, turning on her heels and striding out of the room and leaving her alone to change.
"My 'charge' is fine; she's struggling a bit, so I've already administered some immunoboosters. I'll make sure that she's in adequate condition, and then we'll head out." She began, remotely accessing the synthetic link between them all; communicating without physically speaking was often a strange concept to organics, but even they couldn't deny its effectiveness. "As for the wildlife, be on your guard; if they become hostile, put them down, preferably non-lethally. Anything less than that, try to avoid them. That goes for our charges as well." She continued, stressing the last point more than the rest. "I would ask you all to prevent your charges from doing anything that may potentially cause problems for the indigenous population as well as the wildlife; they're primitive and tribal, which means that they'll likely be more wary of us than a civilised population. Please ask them to refrain from doing anything that will cause particular problems for them, and by extension us; Crow, that means you." She warned, recalling Raven's somewhat brash nature in ordnance training. "Keep me updated on any developments and situations in which you may need aid." She finished, quieting the link until they contacted her again as her head turned to see Dr. Barnes walk out of the room once more, looking notably more at ease in her usual clothes than in the environmental suit that she had been wearing previously. Making a note to dispose of the suit later, she turned and headed back to the medical bay, Dr. Barnes once again in tow.
"You realise I can do all of this myself, right?" Dr. Barnes asked slightly sardonically, making a beeline for the chair that she had sat in earlier and hoisting herself up onto it, watching Jennifer stride over to the drawers on the other side of the room and fish out a direct ophthalmoscope, before closing the desk and heading back towards the woman sitting in the chair. Observing the small woman fidgeting slightly in the chair, looking like she wanted to help or do something yet didn't quite know what to do, she pulled up a chair and sat herself in it opposite the fidgeting woman, leaning forward and motioning for her companion to do the same.
"That would require me to operate under the assumption that you would actually do it." Jennifer responded calmly, using the scope to check each one of the small woman's eyes. "You seem to have a remarkable lack of self-preservation when it comes to your own body, despite the fact that you get sick more than most. Or have you forgotten about the time you didn't appear at training for three days because you were close to a breakthrough and were 'in the zone', as you like to say?" She continued, her tone almost absentminded as she continued with the examination. Observing the small woman's head drop slightly in embarrassment, she reached out a hand and firmly clamped her hand underneath the woman's jaw, effectively locking her head in place and ignoring the tiny surprised squeal and rapidly blushing cheeks of her companion before she released her grip and sat back in an upright position, having completed her examination.
"How long is this going to go on for?" The diminutive woman asked warily, noticing the tall woman across from her watching with intent.
"As long as it takes." Jennifer responded calmly, a hint of exasperation in her tone. "You've arrived at a new planet; new experiences, new everything. You're entirely out of your comfort zone; one would wonder if you know what you were getting yourself into had you not undergone over a year of training for this experience." She continued, observing with an increasingly concerned expression the face of the diminutive woman across from her becoming gradually more downcast at the prospect of losing everything that she had. "But that's why I'm here, Dr. Barnes; to help you, and to guide you through all of this. Your reasons are your own; if they make you uncomfortable to tell me, then so be it. But you're here now; an unprecedented biochemist in a totally new world. I recall Shin certainly enjoying the company of somebody as smart as he, but I'm here to make sure you survive. Including forcible medical examinations should you refuse a simple check-up." She finished, her expression lifting slightly as Dr. Barnes returned to a hopeful expression. "For the time being, you and I will remain here; the others will contact me again should they need us, but for now-"
"Can I at least eat something first? I'm starving." The tiny woman interjected, stopping the A.I. in her tracks mid-sentence. Watching the taller woman stare at her, no doubt assessing her stats, her heart lifted as the tall woman sighed slightly.
"Of course." She acquiesced in a resigned tone, smiling slightly as she drew herself up to her full height, watching as the diminutive woman pushed herself off of the chair. Turning slightly and heading towards the exit of the medical bay, she noticed her small companion fall into line with her out of the corner of her eye, both of them stepping through the doorway and heading left towards the cafeteria.

Crow continued to lay down covering fire. "Little late for that chief!" He shouts through their synthetic link. "We have a hostile trying to compromise Miku. This one's not the primitive creature we got in front of us here. This thing was able to take partial control of Miku like it was nothing. Permission to remove it from play?" He says hoping he'd be allowed to give Edward and Calvin permission to blast the hacker to hell and back.
Tislak watches as something on top of the big metal beast starts casting spells into the trees. Is there something evil there? Have to be. She dives for her spear and shouts to the villagers. "The angels see a demon in the trees. Take up arms, we fight with them." With her rallying cry she and and perhaps a dozen female Dontarie go sprinting to flank the being in the trees.

Edward had already snatched up his gauss rifle and turned to face the location of this thread. However without clearance from the Kamar-Taj he couldn't bring the Claymore's firepower to bear. But whoever was out there had just tried to hack his friend, and he wasn't about to let that go unanswered.
He began terminating any unnecessary processes, freeing up as much of the Claymore's CPU as he could for what he had in mind. Scanning for wireless signals he located a single unknown signal, and began bombarding that node with nonsense data requests, aiming to overload the hostile node with junk data and prevent it from taking any further action. This was a crude and unsophisticated cyber attack method, but without knowledge of what he was up against, this was the best he could do.

Striding through the hallway and listening to the report that Crow was giving with increasing concern, she stopped dead in the hallway upon hearing his assessment of the hostile; able to take control of an A.I.? Keeping her expression expertly impassive as she noted Dr. Barnes turning around to look at her in confusion, she smiled professionally at the small woman. Uttering a sincere apology to the baffled scientist as she turned around, Jennifer strode off down the hallway, picking up the pace as she rounded the corner towards the main control centre.
"Granted, Crow; take it out." She ordered across the link, her neuroprocessors going almost into overdrive as she almost ran towards the main computer. Take control of Miku? It was extremely strange to think of; they were extremely advanced for their own time, but six million years had passed. She wouldn't be surprised if they were the most obsolete synthetic creations in the universe to still exist. As she began to request an update, she heard her name being called from behind her; turning around to see Dr. Barnes running towards her in a huff, her eyes wide in stunned determination.
"What the hell is going on?" She asked incredulously, desperately attempting to read the expertly impassive face of the A.I. standing in front of her.
"It appears we've already encountered some problems in regards to the inhabitants of the planet." She revealed stoically, pointedly ignoring her companions eyes widen in surprise. "I'm monitoring the situation."
"Send me in."
"Dr. Barnes, I have not cleared you for mech usage; your-"
"I need to do something!" The miniature scientist pleaded, her eyes determined. "I know, I'm weak and frail and scared, but that's why my suit is build for speed, not strength! I can draw their attention or something while the others take it down, I-" She continued, her pleading tone sounding progressively more hurried to the expressionless A.I. in front of her. "I came here to help, and to be something different, okay? I can't fight to save my life, but I'm faster than anybody else, and despite what everybody thought I can pilot the crap out of that thing!" She continued, meeting the stoic woman's eyes with her own, wide and imploring. "I can do this." She reiterated firmly, her voice stronger than it ever had been since she had woken up. Knowing that the taller woman had noted the passion in her words, she thought she saw a twitch of disapproval before she motioned with her head sharply towards the mech containment quarters, where her suit would be ready and waiting.
"I'm already connected to the mech; it has some control over technology, so don't do anything stupid." She acquiesced somewhat grudgingly, noting the eyes of the diminutive woman light up before she bolted off towards the mech quarters, her gaze fixed in determination as she headed through the doors and having apparently not even registered the last part, leaving the tall woman alone in the main control centre.
"Be alert, you two." She spoke up through the synthetic connection as she resumed her determined stride towards the main computer. "I'm sending assistance. Do your best to keep her safe."

Hearing Jennifer give them the ok to attack Edward smiled before reporting, "Crow, Raven, I'm currently suppressing any further hacking attempts from the hostile with a DoS attack. Beyond that, this is your show. Do you want me to keep them suppressed with gauss rifle fire, or do you want me to break out the fun stuff?"

Still trying to contact the other two pilots when she picks ups a S.O.S from one of the A.I "Mattix I've just pick-up a S.O.S from nearby should we start moving towards the signal?" Asked Bastion with a hint of panic in her synthetic voice. Benedict already starts up his mech "Why ask if it's a chance to meet up with the others then we have to take this chance then my smart friend!" BK B-145 hums to life as it stands on it's two legs checking over the various systems of the mech, seeing that there's no damage to his mech he gets the all clear for bastion to connect to the mainframe.
"Keep the shields at 65%, then keep up security measures up just in case of an attack or a possible attack on the mainframe then kick start the sonar to sweep for anything nearby us. Now let's see what eden has in store for us and find out what the hell is happening to the other." Benedict's Mech starts up and runs towards the trace of the distress signal.
